My brother and I visit our sister-in-law at least once per week, with my sister visiting every three weeks or so when she comes up from Essex. Her room is always clean and tidy and she is comfortable. The staff are very good with her, her door is always open, so when the staff are going about other business they give her a wave and a hello, which is nice for her. I personally, over the last fifteen months since my sister-in-law arrived, have had no major issues, I have found everyone to be very helpful.

My mother-in-law is a current resident at Cedar Falls. She has been living at the care home for the past 12 months.
We know that my mother-in-law is well looked after and cared for by the staff within the home. All of her medical needs are met and she is kept comfortable and safe, with all staff being familiar with her needs and wants. The residents within the home are all very happy to be living in the home. We are always greeted with warm smiles and friendly faces.
The staff in the home go above and beyond. They all familiarise themselves with regular visitors and family members. The communication between family members and staff is outstanding. They are quick to communicate any issues that may arise with us as a family. We know many staff by name. They are all friendly and beyond helpful when we need to discuss my mother-in-law’s care.

The residents are kept entertained daily with various activities and games which they are supported to partake in. We cannot rate the home more.

Difficult to see good care on Top Floor especially when you see residents walking around soaked through from urine, visits involve walking through trails of urine that staff don’t see. Little knowledge of medical concerns, no consistency of care, inability to follow through on simple procedures like a urine test, or other blood tests. Different answers from different staff, no overall monitoring or direction. Staff disillusioned. Communication poor. Another manager after a sequence of new failed managers, no hairdressing service for months, sad residents, staff who are undervalued, poor laundry service, constantly replenishing missing named items, I could go on and on. Worst of the worst is staffing levels at night resulting in little care, no night-time beverages and a poor attitude. But we are taking our relative out. Put in an official complaint. Never got a reply. Even though we followed official procedures. Rooms are shabby, floors sticky and in need of upgrade throughout.

When someone you love depends on others for care, you want to know they will be kept safe and treated with respect, My mum has recently moved into this home and I’ve honestly been blown away with every single member of staff. The level of compassion and kindness shown to my mum will be something I never forget, it’s the hardest thing I’ve done and it was made so much easier by the manager and her amazing team. Thank you to everyone involved.

Cedar Falls Nursing Home is wonderful and staff are excellent. I would recommend the care home to anyone. The maintenance person is wonderful, so are the receptionist, activities coordinator, the manager and all the staff. It does matter. It doesn't matter what creed, all the staff are wonderful, I love them all even the new staff. I recommend this care home to anybody, it's a wonderful place, it's my home.

The appropriate external services were called upon for advice and the family were informed of the process and the following recommendations.

Our request for a room change was dealt with effectively and efficiently by both staff and management and the home is very accommodating with all our requests.

My mum and dad now reside at Cedar Falls Nursing Home, with Mum moving in nine years ago. Their care and attention to my parents is second to none, they ensure they are cared for really well and provide an immersive experience for them. They keep me fully informed of any changes in their care or health and send monthly newsletters and updates.

Cedar Falls Care Home is blessed by an excellent catering team and staff who care for the residents and take the time to engage with them. The home is looking to recruit more staff which can only be a good thing so that an even higher standard of care can be achieved; offering more time to engage with/feedback to relatives by phone or in person.
The rooms are well-presented and clean and the management team allows residents to take in personal items to make the room more homely. Even when clearly named items do go missing, which is frustrating and can be slow to be resolved.

Overall, I have been very happy with the team at Cedar Falls, I have peace of mind that my relative is being well cared for and is safe for which I am truly grateful.

Overall, the home was nice and had good facilities. The room was nice, and we were able to bring our own personal items from her house.
The only criticism was that my mother expressed dissatisfaction at the length of time it took staff to answer the call bell when she needed the toilet.

Also, it might be good to note that patients as frail as my mother are unable to hold mugs of hot drinks and require a lighter cup that is more manageable. The staff were very friendly.

Thank you for your review of Cedar Falls. We are saddened to hear you have found some aspects of care lacking as we strive to consistently provide the quality care our residents deserve. I would urge you to discuss your concerns with the home manager so that she can look into the points you have raised to this end. I will pass on your comments for her attention.

Cedar Falls Nursing Home has come up full care. My husband is always clean, meals are good and he is well looked after. The staff have got to know him and he relates to them. Because of his dementia, it is hard for anyone to look after people with aggression but 'well done'. The cleaning is up to scratch and I am always greeted and told if there are any problems with my husband. Thank you.

Visited the home for four weeks after being discharged from hospital to help get well enough to return home. The home was lovely, spent time getting fit and well ready to return home.

Can't fault any aspect of the home. Would highly recommend.

My mother has been in Cedar Falls Care Home about two years. I find the care home excellent in every department. The carers are all 100% determined to look after each and every resident in every possible way. My mother has got dementia! She hasn't recognised me in the last two years so make sure you do your research. If my mother has any other problems like she gets a cold or she slips on an object on the floor and hurts herself then the care home will always ring me and explain my mum's problem and if she needs to go to hospital or see the doctor in the care home, they will ask me if it's ok to take her or leave her to see the local doctor. All meals and drinks are good and if a person needs help in getting fed properly then there will always be a carer to help. The care home is always clean and tidy and when things go wrong and break down the care home have plenty of maintenance people to sort the problems out. There are lots of parking places and room for vehicles in the care home. Thank you.

Some of the care staff are not well trained for this kind of care. Not enough time is given by carers, feeding patients before they take the food away. Because of this, you can see the deterioration in patients in a very short time. I have visited this care home almost every day at mealtimes and see lots of what goes on inside.
