Overall Experience
Having recently visited a relative who currently resides in Madeira House Nursing Home, I must say that that I am very pleased with the service which is being provided there. The care staff and management team are very highly skilled in their job roles and consistently maintain a happy and warm attitude in carrying out their jobs, as well as looking after the residents' guests.

Additionally, it is so pleasing to know that I can rely on the staff at Madeira House to look after members of my family with such high levels of excellent quality care, and affording them the dignity that they desire in their old age; every need is taken care of, and this gives me great confidence and delight in knowing that one of my loved ones is happy and cared for whilst living in Madeira House.

This is a lovely home. All of the staff are friendly and supportive. There is always someone available to talk to if you have a question or worry. The food is great and the manager always lets you stay and eat lunch or dinner with the person you have come to visit. They have activities on all the time and I quite often join in with a game of bingo! They have a lovely little dog called snowy who we see wandering around all the time.

Julie Esprit
Julie EspritJob Title:Home ManagerJoined: 2025

“Originally from the Commonwealth of Dominica, I bring a lifelong passion for caring to my role at Madeira House. My career began in the Caribbean, before I moved to England to continue building my nursing knowledge and skills. Over the years, I have worked as a Registered Nurse, Recovery Nurse, and Head of Clinical Services (Matron), with 16 years spent in the private hospital sector before returning to care homes to support both residents and my family.

I am trained in the management of the deteriorating patient (Level 3) and have delivered training in ILS, AIMs, Venipuncture, Cannulation, and Safeguarding (Levels 1–3). My focus is always on providing safe, compassionate care and creating a family-like environment where residents feel valued and supported.

Outside of work, I enjoy walking, reading, singing, and dancing. My guiding belief is simple: respect, teamwork, and positive interaction are the foundations of outstanding care.”

As Head of Infection Control, she ensures rigorous standards are met and continually seeks improvements to the home’s safety and comfort.

Known for her friendly, hands-on approach, Jayne leads by example, inspiring a close-knit housekeeping team who take pride in every detail from keeping the home spotless to making residents feel dignified and at ease.
