Overall Experience

My mother has been a resident of Willoughby Grange Care Home for four weeks. The staff are very professional, helpful and very caring. I would have no reservations in recommending Willoughby Grange to any person considering this care home for their loved ones. Also a special thanks to one particular Nurse who looked after Mum really well.

Always a lovely friendly atmosphere when I visit my sister and it has a lovely homely feeling. All staff seem busy but friendly and very helpful and the care is exceptional. I have told my family that should I ever need to go into care Willoughby Grange Care Home is the only one I would be happy with! Hopefully, nothing will change should that time come as the way it is run now works so well.

Overall Experience

Since returning to visit residents at Willoughby Grange following the pandemic restrictions, I have found staff to be as professional as ever. Covid precautions for visitors are carried out efficiently and I feel safe visiting residents. Residents appear well cared for - as always - and are treated with courtesy and respect and I am always made aware of anyone who would especially value a visit, whether due to being in unfamiliar surroundings, sick or bereaved. The premises are immaculately clean, tidy and inviting and residents appear relaxed and happy.

Over the last nine years that my mother has lived in Willoughby Grange, her mental and physical well being have deteriorated considerably, but at each stage her care has been adapted to suit her needs.

The home has a strong manager and an exceptional team of staff. Resident choice and dignity are strong values here.

Nothing was ever too much for the wonderful staff at The Grange. You were always met with warm, friendly smiles upon entering.
Each and everyone there was kind, considerate and caring as well as being extremely attentive to my mum's needs.
The staff continually kept me 'in the loop' with things if I was unable to be there with Mum.
Simply put 'the best'. I/we as a family cannot thank them enough for their time, help and all-round thoughtfulness during a tricky time for us.

Thank you Willoughby Grange staff.

Review from B H (Aunt of Resident) published on 22 June 2018 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

The staff were very caring and understanding. My aunt is very frail and needs feeding and all personal care done. They look after her with dignity and kindness. I see my aunt most days and give her a meal. It means I can spend more time over the meal than any of the staff are able too. My aunt is clean, comfortable and safe. I think it is wise to help out whenever possible.

Nice and homely, friendly staff, entertainment is ok, Mum doesn't like church service, sleeps through, but that's my Mum.
Carers do their utmost best, maybe a few more would help lighten the load for them.

Food wise could do with different vegetables and flavour on the ice-cream (not just vanilla). Seasonal vegetables and fruit.

Although my father was only there a short time, the care they gave him was fabulous. There was nothing they wouldn't do for him to make him comfortable. Total dignity was given to my father at all times. They looked after us as a family too, ensuring we were kept informed of his progress at all times. Wouldn't hesitate to put anyone in Willoughby Grange.

Our mother received the best care possible during her short palliative care. All the staff were friendly and courteous right up to the end of her life. The room was always clean and her needs met. There were always drinks available to her. She was kept clean and fresh whenever we visited and the staff kept her dignity to the end. 5* care in all aspects.

Review from Jean H (Resident / Service User) published on 31 January 2018 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

I was very surprised at the friendliness of all the staff, from nurses to cleaners. They treated me with respect and great friendliness, as I was only in here for 2 weeks after a bad hip operation in hospital. They welcomed all the visitors with tea and coffee, in my room or the lounge. The only one thing that caused a problem, was sleeping, as the residents were quite residents through the night.
