The care home has several, relaxing living rooms, bedrooms and three splendid gardens for residents and their visitors to enjoy.

Part of the Jasmine Healthcare group, the care home regularly invests in training its team. As well as constant encouragement of continued development, the care home provides all members of the team with an extensive in-house induction, regular mandatory training and additional specialist training in many areas. It believes a regular training programme is fundamental to improving the care provided to all residents.

My aunt was transferred from hospital in September 2014 to Avenue House. I was impressed at once with the friendly, caring attitude of the manager and her team. Sadly, my aunt died shortly afterwards.
My uncle was treated with great kindness. When my uncle needed nursing 3 years later, Avenue House
was our first choice. He is well looked after and is made to feel comfortable and safe.
To his joy he finds the food good and to his liking. His room is bright and airy with a garden view. My rating of excellent is given because Avenue House deserves such a commendation. I would recommend Avenue House.

My Aunt has been at Avenue House for five months following a long stay in hospital. She had stopped eating and drinking and was very poorly, bed bound and not 3expeed to survive long. The staff at Avenue House have turned her around. She has put back on more than a stone in weight and now occasionally
sits out in the lounge with other residents. She is relaxed and settled here.

Staff are very considerate and caring for all the residents. They ensure residents are always kept clean and well fed. Staff are always available if I need to ask advice they are very friendly. They do their best to ensure residents are as happy and cared for as possible.

Over the 4 years that my mother has been in this home, the standards have varied considerably. At the beginning it was excellent but after the manager left things changed. However, now that the original manager has returned, the standards are increasing day by day. The staff are happy and that reflects
throughout the home. They are very caring towards my 97-year-old mother who is now bedridden. She is always clean, as is her room.

As a family, we are very satisfied that our Mum is receiving good care and attention. She was very poorly and underweight when she first arrived and now is thriving and on the whole appears happy. The staff team are friendly and interact well with the residents. We have been kept informed of any issues
in a timely way. We hope with the arrival of the new activities coordinator that some structure and organised activities can be a regular thing as it is very important to stimulate people.

Sam

Sam Hoare-Wilkinson

Job Title: Manager

Avenue House is led by Care Home Manager, Sam Hoare-Wilkinson who supports our qualified team of carers, kitchen and housekeeping staff.


Sam joined the Jasmine Team at Avenue House in October 2017 as Deputy Manager. Sam chose to pursue a career in care from the age of 19 and over the last 16 years she has worked in different care settings including as a care assistant at a Nursing home and then in Residential and Domiciliary Care. Whilst gaining valuable experience, Sam has also undertaken a programme of study and has achieved NVQ qualifications at levels 2, 3 and 5 in Adult Health and Social Care and has completed a Counselling Skills course.


Sam passionately believes that we are invited to work in our residents’ home, and the empowerment of their choices, rights and independence are fundamental to her approach to care.
