The care home has several, relaxing living rooms, bedrooms and three splendid gardens for residents and their visitors to enjoy.

Part of the Jasmine Healthcare group, the care home regularly invests in training its team. As well as constant encouragement of continued development, the care home provides all members of the team with an extensive in-house induction, regular mandatory training and additional specialist training in many areas. It believes a regular training programme is fundamental to improving the care provided to all residents.

The manager and staff are always extremely helpful and it’s never too much trouble when you ask them for anything. The care home has a nice warm friendly atmosphere. The environment is clean and tidy and my friend is well supported in ensuring she always looks nice and is extremely happy at the home.

My father has been a resident for several years. He is approaching his 103rd birthday and is bed-ridden. He has suffered from vascular dementia for the whole of his time in the home as well as other characteristics of old age. He has always received nursing and care that is professional, cheerful and

My mother moved into Avenue House most recently. She has settled very well considering we haven't been able to visit her due to COVID. The staff I have spoken to on the phone and seen via Skype seem very pleasant. I have personally had weekly direct contact with the management team, which during these
times is very reassuring. As a family, I'm happy mum was placed here and I cannot wait to be able to visit her again. My mum's room is spacious and clean - she sounds happy there.

I cannot speak more highly of Avenue House. The care that my dad receives from all the staff is wonderful. These have been trying times for us as a family, not being able to visit my father, the staff have kept us fully updated on Dad's health and well being via weekly phone calls and emails. Activities
are still ongoing and I saw fabulous pictures of the garden party - what a lovely day for all the residents to enjoy with the staff. Thank you Avenue House staff, I have no doubt that due to your very hard work, you have ensured that the home has remained Covid free.

Avenue House was accessible and caring from the start. We had to move a reluctant 100-year old after a couple of falls which meant she needed more care. All staff have been patient and very caring. They maintain a human and warm atmosphere and work with and communicate well with the family. They have
been supportive in helping us to maintain contact with Nana in calls and Skype and have done brilliantly in keeping everyone safe. We miss Nana so much at the moment and hope that some kind of arrangements can be made to support care homes to manage socially distanced visits for residents in the near future so that homes can continue to care for mental health needs in the way they will want to whilst keeping staff and residents safe. I know that while Nana didn't want a care home we couldn't have found one better for her.

I can not stress how appreciative I am for all that the staff at Avenue House are doing during this Covid 19 crisis.. every step of the way the staff have kept us updated and no matter how busy any of them are they take the time to have a chat and let you know how your loved ones are coping.. unfortunately
with my husband it is not always easy to Skype with him as he loses concentration quickly but the staff members encourage him when this happens. I, therefore, applaud each and everyone at Avenue House and must add that when my husband entered here in March 2019, it was the best decision for him.

My mum has been resident for a few years now and the staff go beyond what is expected of them. The catering staff bend over backwards to ensure my mum has a meal which she will enjoy. My mum is quite outspoken but staff love her humour. What I really like is that staff are trained well but always
get medical help if needed. They were early to close due to risk of Coronavirus and are ensuring staff and residents are tested ensuring she stays safe. Good communicators and they keep me informed of any issues or needs my mum has in this difficult time. Especially like the activities they put on and how I and my brother are always welcome to visit her (except now due to Coronavirus but are putting on Skype and emailing). Staff are very friendly and care about the residents. Miss seeing my mum though.

During the coronavirus crisis, the staff have gone above and beyond to safeguard the safety of their residents as well as taking care of themselves too. They are polite and friendly on the phone. I am grateful to the home, the fact I am able to speak to my dad via Skype and phone.

My parents arrived at Avenue House in April 2018. My father was in his 90's and not in good health by the staff managed to make his last few months comfortable and happy with mum before he died. Since then mum has settled in and made friends with other residents and staff. The staff know mum's little
ways and always treat her with patience, kindness and humour. They will not hesitate to contact myself for my brother if they feel they need to.

My mother had been in care at Avenue House since 2014 and has received wonderful consistent care from all the staff and enjoys amazing nutritional meals. If there is a concern regarding mum they always contact me. I feel she is in a safe caring environment and it's home from home atmosphere.

This home is spacious but cosy and homely. The staff are very caring and so lovely with the residents. My mother is very happy here and is well cared for every day. My mother came into Avenue House, Rushden in October 2017. The staff and the care and sympathy shown to my mother was excellent. She was always clean, also her clothes and bed linen. The room was clean too.
The manager and staff supported me towards the end of Mum's life. I can't thank them enough.

After a very long spell in hospital Dad lacked the mental capacity and physical strength to be at home on his own looking after himself. My wife and I visited Avenue House, having looked at a few other care homes, and decided straight away that this was where we wanted Dad to be. He requires help with
every aspect of daily life and the staff are always very caring and patient with him. The whole team really work their socks off and are always friendly towards visitors and interact extremely well with the residents. It was a difficult decision for the family to make to have to put Dad into care, but Avenue House has helped ease any concerns as we know he is safe and very well cared for.

Sam Hoare-Wilkinson

Avenue House is led by Care Home Manager, Sam Hoare-Wilkinson who supports our qualified team of carers, kitchen and housekeeping staff.


Sam joined the Jasmine Team at Avenue House in October 2017 as Deputy Manager. Sam chose to pursue a career in care from the age of 19 and over the last 16 years she has worked in different care settings including as a care assistant at a Nursing home and then in Residential and Domiciliary Care. Whilst gaining valuable experience, Sam has also undertaken a programme of study and has achieved NVQ qualifications at levels 2, 3 and 5 in Adult Health and Social Care and has completed a Counselling Skills course.


Sam passionately believes that we are invited to work in our residents’ home, and the empowerment of their choices, rights and independence are fundamental to her approach to care.
