Overall Experience
My dad only spent seven weeks at Cheaney Court before he passed away, but we as a family, we were extremely reassured with the quality of care that he received during this time.
As dad entered the home during the Coronavirus pandemic we didn’t get to meet all of the staff who cared for him. As a result of this we relied heavily on gaining information over the phone and we were always treated with respect, never rushed and given a full update. Everyone that we spoke to without question gave us comfort and reassurance on a daily basis as we were unable to visit.

We will always be eternally grateful to everyone at Cheaney Court for giving dad the care he deserved. They are a truly special group of people.

The care quality here is exceptional and cannot be faulted. It is a nice friendly atmosphere with lovely carers and excellent food. There are plenty of activities for the residents to enjoy and take part in and my mum loves to sing along with the entertainer. It is a very hard decision deciding which care home would be the best for your loved ones and I can honestly say that I made a great choice in Cheaney Court. Thank you to all the staff for taking such special care of my mum.

A well run, warm and friendly care home. Staff are all very caring, considerate and patient with both residents and their families, even when attending to the most challenging of situations. The staff interact with the residents well and encourage them to participate in the various activities; a 'happy' place with a good atmosphere.

My aunt's stay in Cheaney Court lasted 6 and a half years to her death in Feb 2020. I saw the home adjust to her changing needs, at no time did I doubt them. She was their oldest resident and died at 103 years. Her 100th birthday was celebrated there happily. The build-up to her death and the ending which was at the home was handled with compassion, kindness and efficiency, making it easier for me.

My mother died in August 2019 having lived at Cheaney Court for just over 5 years. She suffered from severe dementia. The staff were always excellent and at the end of mum's life, they showed high levels of care and compassion. Many of the staff there at the end of her life had been there for the whole of her stay, so the turnover of staff appears to be low. This is good for the residents who benefit from seeing familiar faces.

Following 3 months hospitalisation. I entered Cheaney Court in Desborough in July 2018. I was met there by smiling faces and a lovely cup of tea and biscuits, which was a kindly gesture. I was transferred from a stretcher to a wheelchair and then to a very comfortable, cushioned chair in the lounge amongst 4 guys of my own age group and how friendly they were. I was in a position where I had to return to bed every day after lunch. I was kept in tough by the nurses regarding my health and progress. The carers were always available to give assistance whatever the request and nothing was too much trouble. A friendly doctor visited once a week. The food was adequate. Over the next 6 months, I said goodbye to the wheelchair and to the Zimmer and to laying on my bed from lunchtime. After 6 months walked out of Cheaney Court with my partner. Thank you Cheaney Court.

Upon admission to the care home Father was still very mentally independent and, within reason, fairly physically capable, the staff at Cheaney Court very much encourage and embraced this, moreover when his condition worsened I don't think he could have received better care anywhere. He was always allowed to keep his privacy and dignity right to the end.

The staff, from the manager down, are all so kind and helpful. They are all so concerned that the resident's needs and comfort are fully met. I hope that the manager will stay for many years to come as he runs the home so well.

I find Cheaney Court to be a very caring home where management, staff and residents enjoy a really good close relationship. The atmosphere is always good, everybody seems to work towards the aim of providing the best possible experience for the residents in often difficult circumstances.

My mother has been a resident at this care home for three years to date. My mother has always been treated with dignity and respect.
The carers are always attentive, caring and professional at all times.

The care home itself is always kept very clean at all times. All in all, I am very happy with my mother's overall care.

I am invited into the home once a month to interact with the residents. I have noticed lately a real affection from all the staff towards the residents. It is beautiful to watch the home provide more than just the resident's needs but are reacting well to their emotional ones too. I have been coming to the home for 8 years now and have always found a good level of consistency in the service they provide. The manager has always put an emphasis on activities to stimulate which shows and 'above and beyond' kind of approach.
