Kenroyal Nursing & Residential Care Home

My dad had a stroke which left him unable to walk and talk and he also suffers from vascular dementia. Since arriving at the home, his speech has started to return due to the staff and residents stimulation in the conversation and activities which are daily. Food is good and the staff are so caring with the residents and also with us the family.

Lovely, friendly clean home.

We found the manager extremely competent and the staff both caring and respectful at all times. There was no area of mum's care that we were worried about. We were most thankful to have found Kenroyal for mum's final months.

My mother moved into Kenroyal at Christmas 2016 and died there this August. From the start, she was treated with respect, kindness and dignity. Every effort was made to keep her in good health both mentally and physically. Communication with visitors and family was excellent. We feel that as a family we have been very lucky to have Kenroyal care for our relative.

They treat my husband with the utmost respect. They look after him like one of their family. They make sure that he has plenty of fluids as he cannot do it for himself - nothing is too much trouble. When I visit, it is like they treat me as a family member making my visit much more bearable at a very difficult time. Can't thank them enough.

Mum was the only resident for the last 6 months of her life but we couldn't have been happier with the care she received. It was clear by the end that the staff had got to know her and understood her needs and to an extent her wishes, even though she had increasing problems with communication. Particularly impressed with the manager's connection with those under their care as individuals. Thank you to the manager and the rest of the staff.

Nothing was too much trouble for them, everyone was so nice and we were always welcome. It was like home from home and like an extended family.

My friend has been at Kenroyal Nursing & Residential Care Home for the last 5 years. He has been well looked after. All staff here are very caring and Manager is always very helpful. He was always full of praise for the staff and management.

Very impressive and caring. On my first visit, I was very impressed with the staff and general atmosphere. I arrived unannounced and was warmly greeted by a member of staff and shortly afterwards by the manager. I was offered refreshments - very welcome after a long journey. Observing staff on duty, I noted that they spent all the time chatting, holding hands with residents, and attending to their needs. All staff seemed happy and caring, and acknowledged me, suggesting they realised I was a stranger. I may well be able to give more 'excellent' marks on a return visit.

I would recommend Kenroyal to anyone looking for a safe, friendly environment for a loved one in need of nursing.

My father has been at the care home for a few months now and the standard of care is excellent. The staff are all very attentive and nothing is too much trouble.

An exceptional establishment.

The manager took my husband in within a few hours when I was unable to cope with his complex and 24 hour needs. Her staff are well trained - a welcome greeting and always offered tea or coffee. Trained nurses are always in attendance, a Dr makes weekly visits. There is a chiropodist and hairdresser. My husband is always clean with fresh clothes daily. Every item is well laundered. The manager is approachable, ready to discuss any problem. I am content my husband is in a safe, warm and compassionate environment.

My mother was only at Kenroyal for a couple of weeks after leaving the hospital. She was treated with such care, dignity and respect by all the staff. The manager could not have been more helpful at all times nothing was too much trouble for her.

All as ticked below. I could not believe our luck to find such a lovely nursing home for my mother. It is a lovely home, with an excellent manager. I would have no hesitation to recommend this home and if possible, nominate the manager for a 'special award' that she thoroughly deserves. All delivered with excellent support from the excellent staff, all managed by the home manager. Thank you.
