Kenroyal Nursing in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire has been set up to ensure a versatile lifestyle for elderly and vulnerable residents with care needs.

My husband was a resident at the home for only a short time before he passed away at the end of November. In that time my family was very pleased and impressed with the care and attention he received.
The carers were compassionate and helpful. The facilities were well maintained and resourced also
clean and spacious.
It gives us some comfort to know that he spent his last couple of months in your care.

I would have no hesitation in recommending this home because of the positive, caring experience I have had with the treatment of my mother. The staff were extremely accommodating, helpful, and took very good care of my mother who recently passed away. Whenever I visited the home, it was always clean
and the majority of the time smelt really good. A sign that I looked for, because of previous experiences with care homes. My mother was clean and appeared to be contented. Difficult to judge because of her dementia, but I saw no reason to question anything adverse. Of course, there were inevitably some situations that required discussion, but these matters were discussed and dealt with, with good grace and any changes or recommendations were put in place expediently.

Kenroyal Nursing and Residential Care Home is an excellent nursing home. All the staff and the management team are friendly and always professional. They have made both my mother and myself very welcome. There is always a smile on my mother's face when I go to visit. They have put all my worries to
rest. Knowing my mother is very well looked after and safe in her new home.
After a long search, we found somewhere caring and safe to look after my mother and it is the best and easiest decision we had to make without hesitation knowing my mother was in good hands.

My father has been at Kenroyal for a relatively short length of time. However, in that time his care has been exemplary. Every member of staff in their many different roles has shown respect, care and compassion for my father and his visitors. We are always greeted with a welcoming smile. In the past
few weeks while my father has been confined to bed has been treated with the utmost dignity.


The owner and nursing staff have been open, yet compassionate while sharing every aspect of my father's medical condition and needs. The home itself is scrupulously clean, my father's room is light and airy. We as a family feel privileged that it is home for my father in his later days.

My husband had advanced dementia with other health issues and some challenging behaviour. He was admitted to Kenroyal after a stay in hospital. The previous care home was unable to meet his needs. He was always clean and dressed well. His room, which overlooked the lovely gardens, was very comfortable
and large enough for me to sit with him. All staff were kind and looked after him really well. I was welcomed to visit and nothing was too much trouble.

My mother went to the Kenroyal in February 2015. She had vascular dementia and difficulty communicating. From the start, her needs were catered for and the staff were very kind and patient at all times. The family were encouraged to visit at all times and were always welcomed with a cup of tea and biscuits.
After a spell in hospital, we knew her life was near the end. The Kenroyal took her back into their home and cared for her twenty-four hours a day with nothing but kindness during her last days. It was such a comfort to us, her family, knowing she was comfortable and calm. She died on 9th August 2016 and I cannot thank them enough. We were so lucky she had her place there.

The facility is very clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. We have asked for some additional help that is not within the remit of the care home and the managers have always managed to solve our issues and help as much as possible.

My mum was really poorly and they couldn't do enough for her. They helped her with everything eg. food, drinks, medication and keeping an eye on her. They are wonderful in that home.

The manager is very friendly, approachable and hands on. When I visit my husband the staff have a ready smile and a greeting. The home is clean and well run, smells occasionally but most nursing homes do. Most importantly the staff are great with the residents. There are lots of activities for them
to do or participate in, some to stretch their mind, some their legs (dancing) other their vocabulary. Above all this, I genuinely feel they care about the residents as well as provide care.

No shortage of staff at any time and all staff members very helpful and friendly. Always offered tea/coffee and biscuits when visiting. A very open organisation with nothing to hide. The food seems to be good and generous.

Positive - Manager very responsive and personal. Care team and nurses friendly and caring.
Negative- Although carers are kind and they speak directly to residents in the resident's mother tongue some carers do have the tendency to speak their mother tongue when talking to other colleagues in front
of residents which could be confusing to residents with Dementia.

My mother-in-law is always clean and tidy when I come to visit. She is cheerful and happy to chat in the common room, where she interacts with other guests and staff. The staff are quick to respond to her requests, which are not always politely phrased, as she has Alzheimers and vascular dementia.
They treat her with dignity and humour, which she really responds to. They nudge her into joining in with different activities. The staff are always cheerful and helpful to residents and guests - they always offer me a cup of tea when I arrive. She is settled and as content as she can be, given her condition.

This was only the third care home we looked at, having accepted a place at the first two, only to be let down at the last minute by both of them. Kenroyal was then offered as a possible option. We arrived unannounced, were given a full tour of the home and had an informal meeting with the manager who
on that same day visited my Mother in hospital, assessed her needs and arranged for her arrival the following day. When things need doing in this home, they get done. From the approach the building looks a bit tired but there's a new wing added, however this is irrelevant because all my Mother needed was to be nursed and cared for and this is where Ken Royal comes tops. The team here run the place with an efficiency and a passion to make everyone, including visitors, feel at home. It's their dedication to providing a comfortable and stress free environment that puts this home at the top of the list. Well done.

My mother has been in Kenroyal since December 2015. She suffers with Alzheimers and vascular dementia. Mum is very well looked after, even though she can be very demanding at times. She looks really neat and tidy every time we visit, which is at all different times of the day. All the family is happy
to see how well they care for her. We particularly like that she is not left in her room all day. The staff ensure all residents are involved in activities the home provides e.g. Bingo, puzzles, exercises, etc. Without exception, the staff are friendly, courteous, respectful and caring. They treat Mum with great dignity at all times. The manager and staff are always polite, helpful and willing to do all they can to make Mum's life a happy one. The manager, is always available to talk and keeps us well-informed of any issues that may arise.

Residents well looked after.
Staff ratio to patients good.
Stepmother was left in bed the majority of the time at her last residence and mainly left on her own, they said she was virtually unmanageable when hoisted.


Kenroyal staff had her in a chair in the lounge on arrival and they continue

to do so, for the majority of her time in the home, which means she now has contact with other residents and staff each and every day.

My mother has lived alone for over 25 years & was becoming increasingly frail and forgetful. She moved to Kenroyal Nursing Home earlier this year & for the first time in so many years I now have the peace of mind that she is in safe hands and being looked after in a kindly and considerate way. The staff
are attentive & polite at all times and it is easy to see why she has settled so well given that moving out of her own home would not have been her natural choice. When we were researching nursing and care homes in the county Kenroyal Nursing Home really did stand out in the crowd. The facilities are excellent, everything is clean tidy & well organised with the staff from the Manager down always ready to stop what they may be doing to answer questions & to help you too through the transition of having to find away from home care for your loved one.


I would not hesitate in anyway in recommending Kenroyal to anyone looking for a safe and caring environment for their loved one.

I chose this home when my husband was no longer able to live at home. Clean and bright rooms (including communal) and a lovely garden.
Pleasant, friendly staff who looked after my husband really well, with an activities officer to keep the residents as stimulated as possible. He was very happy living
there.

We would like to thank the manager and her staff for the care they provided for a friend during the later stages of her life. We found the manager very receptive to our needs, particularly in providing a room at short notice, this enabled our friend to pass away with dignity and comfort rather than
being left in a hospital bed. Kenroyal Nursing Home may not sit at the luxury end of the market however the home is furnished appropriately, is kept clean and tidy by the housekeeping team and every time we visited the home we were greeted with a welcoming smile from the member of staff who answered the front door. One of the key factors in choosing Kenroyal was their reputation for the care they provide to their residents. Having experienced it first hand we can only praise the manager and the care team to the highest level. If you choose to use Kenroyal services we hope you are as impressed as we were with the managers open door policy, we never had to make an appointment to speak to her and she was always truthful.
