Kenroyal Nursing & Residential Care Home

Although my mum was only at Kenroyal Nursing Home for a very short time. She was treated with compassion and dignity from the very caring staff. I know she was comfortable and happy there.

This is by far the best home my mother has been in. Managers and staff are very friendly and helpful. My mother can be very difficult and demanding but the staff are very patient with her and nothing phases them. The matron cannot do enough for us.

My husband moved to Kenroyal Nursing Home in May 2015. He is well looked after and well settled. The staff are very caring and friendly. We can visit anytime. The food is good and the manager is always ready to help and listen to people's problems. They do various activities which suits all the residents. They do enjoy all the entertainments as well. On arrival staff always offer drinks to all family and visitors. A very happy atmosphere.

My mother who is close to 96 years of age has been at Kenroyal since June 2017. The care and attention she has received has been excellent. The whole establishment is spotlessly clean, always has a fresh smell, the staff are professional, pleasant and courteous. Not just to us visitors but the way they care for and nurse my mother.

It has not be a difficult decision for our family to decide this is where our mum will spend her final days. Knowing she will be well cared for and nursed to a very high standard and treated with the dignity she deserves as her time on this earth comes to an end.

I cannot praise Kenroyal enough, they were excellent from start to finish. All the staff greeted you from the start, the care of my wife was outstanding and our well-being was considered at all times, including emotionally. We were catered for throughout the day and night during my wife's stay. Nothing was too much trouble, we only had to ask.

All the staff are very friendly and caring. My mother receives very good care and is looked after.

The care and the environment at Kenroyal is first class. My wife is treated as an individual.

I had no complaints whatsoever.

My father was only a resident at Kenroyal for a short period of time as sadly he has recently passed away. I have been overwhelmed by the exceptional care he received from the Manager and all her team. They continually showed person-centered care and made his last days as comfortable and dignified as they could. All staff are polite and friendly and provide me with peace of mind at a very difficult time.

We couldn't ask for more, he had a lovely room, he was always clean shaven, with regular haircuts to make him very smart, as he would have liked it. A big thank you to all the staff.

The Kenroyal provides dedicated care for my father who at times, can display challenging behaviour due to his condition. The staff are competent, friendly and caring and there is a sense of cohesion where everybody is working together towards making everyone in their care happy and well looked after. The staff also help relatives by listening to their concerns and assisting accordingly. When I leave my father after visiting, I gain great comfort from believing he has the best care possible I could find for him.

I would have no hesitation in recommending this home because of the positive, caring experience I have had with the treatment of my mother. The staff were extremely accommodating, helpful, and took very good care of my mother who recently passed away. Whenever I visited the home, it was always clean and the majority of the time smelt really good. A sign that I looked for, because of previous experiences with care homes. My mother was clean and appeared to be contented. Difficult to judge because of her dementia, but I saw no reason to question anything adverse. Of course, there were inevitably some situations that required discussion, but these matters were discussed and dealt with, with good grace and any changes or recommendations were put in place expediently.

After a long search, we found somewhere caring and safe to look after my mother and it is the best and easiest decision we had to make without hesitation knowing my mother was in good hands.

My father has been at Kenroyal for a relatively short length of time. However, in that time his care has been exemplary. Every member of staff in their many different roles has shown respect, care and compassion for my father and his visitors. We are always greeted with a welcoming smile. In the past few weeks while my father has been confined to bed has been treated with the utmost dignity.

The owner and nursing staff have been open, yet compassionate while sharing every aspect of my father's medical condition and needs. The home itself is scrupulously clean, my father's room is light and airy. We as a family feel privileged that it is home for my father in his later days.

My mother went to the Kenroyal in February 2015. She had vascular dementia and difficulty communicating. From the start, her needs were catered for and the staff were very kind and patient at all times. The family were encouraged to visit at all times and were always welcomed with a cup of tea and biscuits. After a spell in hospital, we knew her life was near the end. The Kenroyal took her back into their home and cared for her twenty-four hours a day with nothing but kindness during her last days. It was such a comfort to us, her family, knowing she was comfortable and calm. She died on 9th August 2016 and I cannot thank them enough. We were so lucky she had her place there.

My husband had advanced dementia with other health issues and some challenging behaviour. He was admitted to Kenroyal after a stay in hospital. The previous care home was unable to meet his needs. He was always clean and dressed well. His room, which overlooked the lovely gardens, was very comfortable and large enough for me to sit with him. All staff were kind and looked after him really well. I was welcomed to visit and nothing was too much trouble.

I am satisfied with the nursing care that my mother is receiving. The home is clean, tidy and well run.

The facility is very clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. We have asked for some additional help that is not within the remit of the care home and the managers have always managed to solve our issues and help as much as possible.
