Due to Covid, visits had been stopped - my father became unwell with death as a possible outcome. The home were very compassionate and allowed me to visit for his last hours (he did not have Covid). This I will always be grateful for. Thank you.

My stepdad was at the home for 2 years. He was bedridden and fed through a PEG throughout. The care given to him was second to none and when I visited the home, his room, bedding and gowns were spotless. They couldn't have made him more comfortable and I can't thank the staff enough for the care and
love given to him during his time there.

This care home came highly recommended to me and since my mother moved in I have not been disappointed. I found the staff to be very skilled and knowledgeable and above all very happy at what they do which gives great peace of mind concerning my mum, who is almost 93 years old and suffers with Alzheimer's
disease.

My husband was discharged from hospital directly to the home during the COVID pandemic for end of life care. In spite of all the difficulties with ever-changing regulations and guidelines for safe practise during the pandemic the staff were nothing short of amazing. Allowing myself and my family to
see my husband from the garden was so much better than not seeing him at all.
The care he received during his final weeks was second to none, although it did take him some time to settle in due to his illness in many ways his health improved from when he was in hospital. My husband was always kept clean, tidy and was very well looked after. I can’t thank the staff at Weekly enough for their empathy and kindness they have given to him and us.

My family and I are beyond grateful for the wonderful care provided by those at The Old Vicarage care home. Everyone we spoke/met with were incredibly compassionate and understanding, even during the worst times whilst we are amidst a global pandemic and all the rules that are in place. Never will we
forget the strength and support given to us by all the staff and we take great comfort in knowing that Mum was looked after so well during her last moments.
We would love to extend a notable thanks to the doctor in charge of care for Mum. She had a very delicate way of communicating the most difficult of news to us that ensured we were informed of any updates without adding any additional stress or worries for our family. We were incredibly comforted to hear her voice and talk to her between visits and for all the advice she provided to us. Her sensitivity and warmth were a beacon of light to us all that kept us strong as we prepared to say goodbye.

Excellent support for my mother who was admitted for respite. Friendly atmosphere at The Old Vicarage with all staff offering a person-centred approach. Staff are always welcome and the deputy manager is clearly very passionate about her job.

My mother was able to be accepted into care at very short notice following a quick decline in her health and ability to live independently. Although very reluctant to leave her home, Mum very quickly settled in and became happy living in the care home. This was in part due to the high standard of her
room, but mainly due to the lovely and genuinely caring staff who made her so welcome and comfortable. We are so grateful to all of the staff for making Mum feel at home, and providing such a high standard of care during her final weeks.

Two of the key factors for our family when selecting a care home for our mother was the attitude of the staff and the quality of care provided. We have been so pleased with the compassion shown to our mother and the thorough and professional care given daily. Any need for additional medical attention
is swiftly dealt with and implemented. As a result of this in her twilight years, our mother tells us that she feels comfortable, well cared for and respected.

The quality of love and care showed to my Mother throughout her stay in Residential care was exemplary. She was treated with compassion and dignity at all times. The staff are all so friendly and helpful and always available if you require further information on the ongoing care needs of the resident.
It was a great comfort to the extended family to know we had chosen wisely in selecting this home for Mum.

My mother spent her last month here with terminal cancer. The main plus points of the Home are: (1) Very attentive, caring, compassionate staff (2) Fully trained nursing staff who are able to deliver excellent pain relief and last days hospice care (3) Very pleasant homely, old stone-built building
and gardens (4) Ease of access to the staff for updates/general communication (5) Excellent, freshly prepared meals regularly delivered throughout the day (6) Easy wheelchair access to the gardens for the residents (7) Visitors welcome at any time of day or night via a private entrance (8) car parking on site for visitors. Although only in the home for a month, my mother was able to form relationships with the staff and vice versa which was very beneficial to her. Highly recommended!

I found all the staff to be kind, courteous and they provided a very satisfactory level of care. Nursing care was given with compassion and the staff try to make the environment as homely as possible. They always make time to discuss any issues and have a chat.

My mother was admitted to The Old Vicarage on Friday 4th January 2019 and immediately felt "at home". The staff, they were wonderful with her as it soon became clear that this was "end of life" care. She was treated with great respect and her dignity was maintained. Her room was cosy and warm and she
always appeared to be comfortable. In addition to Mum's care, I (and other family members) were always treated with respect and tea plentiful. When the end came it was peaceful and dignified and I was shown much love and kindness. Thank you all.

My auntie was with you only a few days before she passed away.
The care of her was outstanding, she was always treated with dignity. The staff were very kind to my sister and I and were very supportive - nothing was too much trouble for them.

My aunt was in hospital after a fall and not doing very well. The hospital was poorly equipped to cope and her health slowly deteriorated.
I looked at various nursing homes and The Old Vicarage was by far the best I saw in the area. The staff are superb, the home is clean and very well run.

improved dramatically under the care of the home and was happy. I cannot recommend this home highly enough it is brilliant!!
