It was our first time we had any dealings with a care home, and I had heard good reports of this one. We were not disappointed; they were lovely to our Mum, so much so, she wants to go and see them again.

My mum has been cared for at Berry Hill for the past 16-months until she passed away there recently after a long illness. Her care there was wonderful! All the staff I came into contact with on my many visits were very kind, considerate, empathetic and genuinely cared about my mum. On many occasions,
they went above and beyond what you would expect, giving her cuddles, dancing with her and taking the time to really get to know her. I would like to make a special mention to the kitchen staff who were fantastic with Mum, often spending valuable time with her whenever they could. And also the care home manager, who was always kind and very professional during some very difficult times! I would highly recommend Berry Hill to anyone considering using a nursing home for a relative!

Our mum was only in Berry Hill Park Care Home for four days due to rapidly deteriorating health, but myself and my siblings believe she received the very best care anyone could ask for. She was treated with total dignity by everyone. All the staff we came into contact with were very approachable and
friendly whilst still being very professional. We are sure that the staff and the pleasant surroundings made mum's final days as comfortable as could be hoped for. Many thanks from the whole family.

My mum's care is excellent. All the carers treat her like she is a family member or their friend. During covid-19 they have done their best to ensure we can meet or speak with mum in a secure setting. Both myself and my brother are kept well informed by the home.

My mother has now been a resident in Berry Hill Park for almost 9 years. That in itself must show how satisfied I am with the care package that they provide. They have been outstanding particularly during the pandemic when their care, dedication which has been second to none. Mum's health has deteriorated
greatly, particularly during the last 2 years. Her care has been adjusted accordingly and she is very comfortable and content. Reviews are carried out on a regular basis to meet her requirements. Communication is very good.

I have four visits to my wife - the other communication is based on Zoom calls and window visits! This should be born in mind. Things I have noticed are her clothes disappearing (I assume they are in the laundry room).

My husband (father and grandfather) has died this morning. We felt very grateful to every member of staff who assisted and helped him and us through these traumatic 2 weeks. Every question we asked was explained to us clearly and helped us to cope with the illness which we knew was terminal. He was
helped at every step of his decline with friendship and a smile and we came to believe they were more like family to us and we will be forever grateful we chose your care home because they answered our phone call straight away.

We spent my grandma's 99th birthday with her today and had a lovely few hours. The catering staff made her a cane and sang happy birthday to her which she loved.
The environment was Covid secure and we all felt safe whilst visiting.
All the staff made my grandma's day enjoyable!

I can't praise the care that my Mum has received from Berry Hill Park Care Home enough, particularly in these unprecedented times. The home were fantastic in responding to Mum's need to be admitted really quickly. Without exception, all of the staff have looked after and cared for Mum, addressing her
specific physical needs and emotional needs. They are so patient and thoughtful. Her needs have been regularly assessed and discussed with both myself and Mum. Mum needed a lot of reassurance and due to poor sight couldn't join in all activities. The activity co-ordinators took on board her interest of gardening and have spent a lot of time enabling her to spend time pottering in the Care Home garden which has definitely improved Mum's well-being. Many thanks for the care and love you have shown my Mum, I really appreciate it.

Very comfortable. The rooms are excellent and well serviced and clean.
The public lounge lovely outlook. Food is excellent. The staff are friendly and look after my mother-in-law very well.

This care home is really well run and the staff are absolutely brilliant with the residents. They are very professional and thoughtful in the care they provide with the highest level of care and compassion in the work that they do. During this COVID lockdown, the staff have video-called either myself
or sister once a week so we had constant updates of my mum. We now have weekly window meetings with mum which is an added bonus. The care home actually locked down two weeks before the actual government lockdown so it shows you how well the company were prepared in dealing with it. I know that mentioning individual staff is not allowed but those involved with the video-calls and the other one I know by her first name who is so friendly and helpful are absolutely brilliant and deserve a mention, but all the staff are lovely and friendly, I would have no hesitation in recommending this care home. AAAAA rating from me.

What does ‘kindness’ mean to you?


“Kind care to me means going above and beyond to deliver person-centred care and treating our residents with love, dignity and respect. It’s sometimes the little things we do that demonstrate kind care.”


As a Registered Nurse, Tara has gained a wealth of experience in providing care and nursing support to elderly people, to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for residents:


“I am passionate about elderly care and feel privileged to be a part of someone's life, to make a difference, and to drive high standards of care.”


Having joined HC-One in June 2024, Tara closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every resident. She extends this caring approach to her colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Tara remarked:


“My favourite thing about being a Home Manager is getting to build relationships with residents and families and supporting my team to be the best they can be.”


Tara’s name badge says, ‘I am a proud mummy’, which she says is because:


“I am very proud of all of my children; they are something that is very important to me. My biggest achievement has been raising my family, they make me happy every single day of my life.”


Outside of work, Tara enjoys spending time with her family and visiting her parents, who have recently moved to Cornwall.
