Very comfortable. The rooms are excellent and well serviced and clean.
The public lounge lovely outlook. Food is excellent. The staff are friendly and look after my mother-in-law very well.

One lady deserves a special mention, very caring, friendly and a good organiser of social events.

This care home is really well run and the staff are absolutely brilliant with the residents. They are very professional and thoughtful in the care they provide with the highest level of care and compassion in the work that they do. During this COVID lockdown, the staff have video-called either myself or sister once a week so we had constant updates of my mum. We now have weekly window meetings with mum which is an added bonus. The care home actually locked down two weeks before the actual government lockdown so it shows you how well the company were prepared in dealing with it. I know that mentioning individual staff is not allowed but those involved with the video-calls and the other one I know by her first name who is so friendly and helpful are absolutely brilliant and deserve a mention, but all the staff are lovely and friendly, I would have no hesitation in recommending this care home. AAAAA rating from me.

Overall Experience
My husband has been a resident at Berry Hill Park Care Home since February 2019 due to a stroke which has left him needing 24-hour nursing care, which unfortunately still applies. Throughout this time his care has been second to none each and every member of staff have been exceptional, treating him, myself and our family like their own.
Since the Covid-19 outbreak and closure to visitors on 12th March this year, the staff have been outstanding doing everything possible to keep all their residents safe and I have nothing but praise for their efforts at such a testing time. Keeping in touch with family and updating when required. Always happy to take a call from me when I’ve been worried and done video calls whenever possible. Having special days (80s day recently) to keep residents’ spirits up while missing visits from their families. They are like a second family to us and we think of them all with love and affection.

Hope things soon get back to normal visiting.

The management at the care home is very professional. The care staff work very well together to meet the needs of every resident and have excellent communication skills. My mother has settled into the care home very well and responds very well. The activities that are held are very engaging, and the atmosphere is fabulous!

I would highly recommend Berry Hill!

Our mum recently passed away at Berry Hill Care Home after 13 months of living there. She had been suffering from Vascular Dementia for a number of years, and more recently physical complications. I personally can’t thank the manager and her wonderful staff enough. They cared for her during this difficult time with humour, professional empathy, treating my mum with dignity and respect throughout. Whenever we called day or night we always observed the same caring and patient approach to residents despite often very challenging situations. Nothing was too much trouble for them. I would also like to personally mention the kitchen staff, one in particular who will know who they are. The extra mile she went to with my mum was commendable, and to their wonderful hairdresser who even came in the day before she died to perm her hair. Refurbishment of communal areas needed.

From day one when Mum became a resident (four years ago), she was treated with the utmost respect and kindness. As a family, we could not have wished for more caring staff and management, in every department.
Everything she needed was attended to with great care and understanding.

Thanks to everyone involved.

My mum resided at Berry Hill until she died After being there a number of years, There was a great improvement when the current manager joined the team. I was kept informed by the nursing staff if my mum's health showed any cause for concern which was very comforting.
My mum's room was kept tidy and clean, which was wonderful her previous care home was disgusting, to say the least.
Mum always seemed clean and tidy not unkempt like her previous home.

My mum was on a soft food diet so it’s hard to comment on the food.

My friend of some 68 years, is a patient of Berry Hill Park Care Home, Mansfield. He has been at the premises for at least 6 months. He does seem to be improving, steadily but gradually. We are all impressed with the kindness and professionalism of the staff.

My mother was admitted with terminal cancer for end of life care. As a family, we were very impressed with the standard of care she received, the kindness and dignity and their outstanding support offered to us, her family.

My sister and myself both registered nurses were made so welcome. We stayed with our mother day and night. Her pain and symptoms were well controlled and we will never forget the love and support we received.

The improvement since the new manager is almost incredible. The good CQC status is well deserved and the local councils' 5-star award is further confirmation of the transformation that has occurred. The lady members of staff are for the most part caring and patient even with the sometimes irascible behaviour of my friend is invaluable.

My mother has been in the home for a year now and she recently passed away. I cannot thank the manager and her amazing staff for the excellent care they gave her. They were extremely caring and generous and went way beyond the call of duty. The humanity and selflessness of the staff are incredible, especially the end of life care. I can highly recommend this nursing home it certainly gave me peace of mind as I don't live locally.

Overall Experience

My mother was a resident in the care home for over 3 years. When she entered she was very ill and only expected to live a few weeks but with the care, patience and encouragement of the staff at the home, she did get stronger and was able to live a further 3 years. Mum was very exacting in her requirements and standards, some of which was a result of her illness, however, she was constantly praising certain carers and the kitchen staff who made so much effort to make her as comfortable as possible. She seemed to really bond with some of the staff and they would often take their tea breaks to sit and talk to her. The kitchen staff were brilliant always trying to tempt her with food to make sure she ate. As a family, we cannot thank them enough. At the end, the care, attention, empathy and compassion my mum and the family were shown was wonderful. Their support and kindness at such a stressful time gave so much comfort to my mum and all the family. Thank you.

My brother has been a resident at Berry Hill over two years and during this period he has always received the highest standards of care and attention.

His accommodation and food has been first class. The staff have been excellent throughout and always treated my brother with dignity and respect. A real family away from home.

Sadly my brother passed away on the 21.03.19 and was the best care possible at end of life. I thank all of the Berry Hill staff for making him as comfortable as possible.

I know my brother was happy and really thought of the staff as his extended family.

Thanks to everybody for what you do. Your all invaluable and I will remain forever grateful

My Mum was at Berry Hill for 3 years prior to her passing and she was extremely happy and comfortable there. The staff were excellent and provided a very personal touch. Mum loved them and the interaction she had with them. Even after Mum's passing both management and staff were so considerate and they showed so much love and compassion in our time of grieving. Thank you all.

My wife spent 2 weeks in August 2018 as respite for me. At the time I was reluctant to mark the option excellent (as being absolutely meticulous) and wished there was a 'very good' choice.
On this occasion, caring for my wife had taken its toll on me and she became a resident in October. Gradually her condition deteriorated and she died on December 20th. All aspects of the care at this time were such that only the option 'excellent' would apply.

I and the family shall forever be indebted to Berry Hill for their care to my wife in her last days.
