We are so grateful for the exceptional care our grandad received. The staff provided truly personalised attention, always talking the time to understand his needs and ensure he was comfortable. The home was always spotless and welcoming, and we really appreciated the regular updates on his health, which kept us reassured and informed. The kindness professionalism, and dedication of everyone there made a difficult time much easier for our family. We cannot thank the staff at Gareford Hill Care Home enough.

I stayed at Gateford Hill for over 9 weeks recovering from a broken ankle. I cannot speak highly enough of the care and consideration shown to me, by everyone here. The personal care was always done with compassion and kindness, and allowed me to keep my dignity. Everyone on the staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. Add to that excellent food, unlimited cups of tea and admirable cleanliness - you can see why I was sorry to leave!

I moved my mum to Gateford Hill in September after 10 months in another care home where the care was terrible. I've been very happy as mum now gets person centred care and the staff are pro-active and encourage mum to make choices. The staff genuinely care about Mum's well being and they've also supported me during an anxious few days when Mum was in hospital last week. Mum and I are included in all discussions about her care and medical needs. I've spent many years working in healthcare myself and have seen many care homes. Gateford Hill is one of the best.

Mum and step dad moved up in January. This was the best decision. Since moving into Gateford Hill they have both improved significantly in every way.
The care, the staff, the food, and activities have improved their health and quality of life.
All the staff are caring and compassionate, the care is exceptional. As family we are informed of any changes, appointments, or updates which is reassurance for us.
They love the food that is on offer, so much so they have put on weight, which is a good thing!
It is so lovely to see them enjoying life again together.

Thank you to all the staff

My mum has been in several care/nursing homes over the past 4 years. She has had many bad experiences in the past so we were very reluctant to have her staying in another. I can honestly and truthfully say from the start to finish of Mum's care at Gateford Hill Care Home, it has been exceptional. I would like to compliment and thank the managers and staff for looking after and nursing Mum. Mum will be staying again and I have no hesitation in recommending Gateford Hill Care Home.

Gateford Hill and all its staff are truly outstanding. The care, empathy, compassion professionalism they give to residents and their families is matched nowhere else. They ensure that all needs are met and go the extra mile to make them feel at home and ensure they have access to all kinds of activities no matter what their care needs. Sadly my father-in-law was on end of life in April early May and the care they provided to him and us as a family was amazing. Even down to checking that we had drinks while we stayed with him, did we need any food all the little things that get forgotten about for families. They even offered hugs when they were most needed. We feel overwhelmingly lucky that he was able to be cared for at Gateford and even at the end was able to stay there and give us peace that to the last moments it was just how anyone should be cared for. We will always have a special place in our hearts for this care home and its amazing staff.

My mother in law stayed at Gateford Hill Care Home for six months whilst recovering from a severe stroke which left her severely debilitated.
Because of the excellent care and attention she received from all the staff, she has made a remarkable recovery and is now back in her own home.

My husband and I cannot begin to express how grateful we are to such a wonderful team and would recommend this home wholeheartedly.

My mum went to Gateford Hill Care Home on the 27th of February 2023. Without exception, everyone was welcoming. Unfortunately, her stay was short with her passing on the 9th of March. The care, empathy and compassion shown before and after, as well as her time there, were incredible. An amazing place.

My dad was moved to Gateford Hill after a hospital stay. He was immediately made to feel at home and I could see he was much more content. He was treated with respect and all staff took the time to get to know him and the rest of his family. All staff would do whatever they could to make my dad as comfortable as possible and although his stay was only short, I felt so much better that during his last days he was cared for so well and was comfortable and well looked after. The staff also looked after my mum, me and my sibling - ensuring that we were always okay too. They are all amazing and my mum wants to go there when she is older!

Mum came to stay as she has advanced Alzheimer's and could not cope living alone. The staff made us feel welcome straight away when visiting and explained everything clearly and helpfully. Mum is receiving the best care and support, despite this being difficult for her. The home is lovely, clean and welcoming and the staff are all excellent and friendly.

I visited an old friend today who has moved into Gateford Hill Care Home a few months ago. I have not seen my friend look this well in many months due to his deteriorating health. I found him chatting with a group of new friends he has made and the staff were so welcoming and friendly. The home is clean and beautiful with fresh flowers and laughter everywhere. What a lovely place to live. My friend says he loves it there and I can see how happy and well-cared for he is.

Extremely happy with how my mum is being looked after. Staff are friendly and attentive at all times and they are always busy. Always clean everywhere. Everything is explained to me in what is a very upsetting time for me and my family. There is nothing I can find fault with or not be happy with as any requests/questions are dealt with there and then.
