Gateford Hill Care Home

My dad was moved to Gateford Hill after a hospital stay. He was immediately made to feel at home and I could see he was much more content. He was treated with respect and all staff took the time to get to know him and the rest of his family. All staff would do whatever they could to make my dad as comfortable as possible and although his stay was only short, I felt so much better that during his last days he was cared for so well and was comfortable and well looked after. The staff also looked after my mum, me and my sibling - ensuring that we were always okay too. They are all amazing and my mum wants to go there when she is older!

Mum came to stay as she has advanced Alzheimer's and could not cope living alone. The staff made us feel welcome straight away when visiting and explained everything clearly and helpfully. Mum is receiving the best care and support, despite this being difficult for her. The home is lovely, clean and welcoming and the staff are all excellent and friendly.

I visited an old friend today who has moved into Gateford Hill Care Home a few months ago. I have not seen my friend look this well in many months due to his deteriorating health. I found him chatting with a group of new friends he has made and the staff were so welcoming and friendly. The home is clean and beautiful with fresh flowers and laughter everywhere. What a lovely place to live. My friend says he loves it there and I can see how happy and well-cared for he is.

My father is a resident of Gateford Hill Care Home. What more could you ask for? Amazing staff giving the best care to the highest standards, catering to every individual resident's need. This review is based on months of constant 5-star care. Thank you.

Such a friendly environment. All the staff seem happy to be at work. You feel happy to leave a relative in the care of Gateford Hill Care Home.

Extremely happy with how my mum is being looked after. Staff are friendly and attentive at all times and they are always busy. Always clean everywhere. Everything is explained to me in what is a very upsetting time for me and my family. There is nothing I can find fault with or not be happy with as any requests/questions are dealt with there and then.

The care my grandpa is given by the carers and members of the team is absolutely phenomenal. Everyone treats him with so much dignity, respect and they make sure that he gets the right support and resources to make sure his individual needs are met. Highly recommend this care home to look after your loved ones.

Gateford Hill Care Home has a very welcoming feel the moment you walk in the door. My mum was in for respite care and decided to stay! She needs nursing care as she is terminally ill and the care and attention she receives are excellent. The staff are lovely and the food is amazing! Management and admin staff have been most helpful with getting Mum settled in - it really does feel like an extended family. Thank you all!

It's a pleasant experience visiting here, not what I'd expected when thinking of a care home. It really is a home-from-home.

Always friendly, always have time for the residents and visitors, efficient. Quality of care is excellent. Reassuring to know your relative is being looked after with such care, dignity, time and affection. Wonderful. I haven't eaten the food but I'm told it's beautiful - can't ask for better.

My mum initially went to Gateford Hill Care Home for a week's respite but has ended up staying full-time in the dementia ward. The care she has received is excellent, the staff are lovely and really need to know Mum and how to get the best out of her. The receptionist and manager have been very helpful when I have had questions or issues and I have been very satisfied with the care my mum has received. I would definitely recommend Gateford Hill Care Home for dementia care.

I can only describe the people who run this care home as fantastic, from the management team, the carers and the activity ladies; everyone treats each resident with respect. Plus, you are always welcomed with a smile. It really is a home from home. Everyone of the staff treats the residents with dignity and respect. Everywhere is clean and fresh, and the meals are excellent. I thank you all for the care my husband receives.

My daughter has lived at Gateford Hill Care Home for many years. I have always found the staff to be very caring and supportive of her needs. Since the new management has taken over, the building has been improved to a high standard and activities have improved 100%. Both management and staff have treated my daughter with respect and are always looking out for her as she is non-communicative. The nursing staff are wonderful and keep me informed of my daughter's welfare and act swiftly if she is ill. My daughter is very happy there and so am I.

We initially chose Gateford Hill for some respite care for my father. It soon became apparent that the care he was receiving was far more comprehensive than we could give at home. The staff on Lindrick were genuine and caring and we felt that they definitely had my father's best interests at all times. All our wishes were respected and when my father passed away, the staff were wonderful and made his passing a much easier process. A huge thank you to all staff for excellent care.

My cousin is forty-four years old and is currently residing at Gateford Hill. She has terminal cancer as well as ongoing poor mental health. After spending time in hospital and the hospice, as well as periods of time at home, she now accepts and is coming to terms with the reality of never going home again. Gateford Hill is now her home. I cannot thank them enough for their compassion, kindness, love and care. It is absolutely faultless. She is happy, safe, comfortable and settled. Nothing is too much trouble. During times of pain and sadness, they are there for her. Thank you for being so wonderful.

My husband is a resident at Gateford Hill Care Home and has been for some time. He receives excellent care from all staff who are professional, caring and compassionate. He is treated as family and with dignity and respect at all times. I am extremely satisfied with the care and attention he receives from them all.

Gateford Hill was chosen specifically for my sister's needs after researching homes. Whilst we have only been with them for a short while, from first contact to the present day I can only praise the dedication, professionalism and care they give, not only to the residents but the family as well. During lockdown, I felt secure knowing that my sister was safe and well taken care of by an excellent team.

The staff are always pleasant and helpful. The home is always clean, tidy and welcoming. Residents are well cared for and their needs appear to be met very well. Regular updates on residents wellbeing are given. Dad has improved during his stay and seems to be happy and settled.
