Hazelgrove is a purpose-built Care Home set in easily accessible gardens close to the town of Hucknall.

At Hazelgrove residents are cared for in a Homely environment with carers and nurses working alongside the residents, their families and other professionals to achieve the best outcomes.   

Activities at Hazelgrove are varied, ranging from riverboat trips and walks in the park, to karaoke, keep-fit classes, carpet boules and bingo in the main lounge. Residents wanting to relax can enjoy watching the fish in the large tank or can visit the cosy reminiscence lounge lovingly decorated to evoke memories of yester-year.

Resident’s and their families can also enjoy the carefully designed patio garden which includes a sensory garden and reminiscence area – a wonderful, therapeutic feature for those with Dementia.

Hazelgrove is a wonderful care home. My dad was a resident there for 2 and a half year's before he sadly passed earlier this year. The staff at Hazelgrove offered the utmost care and respect and you could tell by my dad's body language that he felt happy and relaxed. The staff were friendly and supportive
to my dad and the family. Thank you so much for all that you did for my dad, it means so much!

Both my parents moved to Hazelgrove in June 2016. Sadly, within a few weeks, my dad died as he was quite poorly. The support and kindness we received from the home at the time were second to none. My mum had remained at the home until her death only a few days ago. She has always been happy and very
well cared for. We are extremely happy and grateful for everything the home has done for her.

A very nice, friendly home, because of Covid visiting has been limited, and each member of staff has worked so hard.
Although the decor could do with upgrading it's the staff that makes the home with their caring attitude.

After my dad had been in and out of the hospital he soon settled in at Hazelgrove. He seems happy. He likes the food and he likes most of the staff. He always talks about the insulin lady and the chicken lady which make him laugh and makes a fuss of him. Very friendly. When visiting Dad it always has
a friendly feel about the place. Smiles all around. Thank you.

My grandmother became a resident a few months before the pandemic struck. Hazelgrove has been amazing keeping the residents happy, entertained and most importantly Covid-free. The staff always greet visitors with a smile and a cheery hello and are always interacting with residents to ensure nobody is
alone. The home is well equipped for home essentials, care, fun and activities and the cats and chickens are loved by residents too.

I have been very pleased that Gran has remained safe and Covid free in Hazelgrove during the pandemic. We have had regular pictures/updates with activities, occasions and day to day life by email and social media which has been a blessing. We are looking forward to our visit soon now we can be designated
visitors. Thank you to all staff for your tireless work during the pandemic and always, you're all amazing.

At every visit, it has been obvious that all staff treat every patient and incident with a high level of care, consideration and effort to ensure all parties are comfortable, safe and contented. It is also obvious that a high level of thought and effort is applied to providing highly valuable activities.

My grandma received end of life care after a battle with Alzheimer's. The carers did a fantastic job and were very caring and went over and above what was expected. They made her final couple of months comfortable and we trusted in their care and capabilities.

Was always happy to visit to see my neighbour. Well cared for, looking lovely. As I worked in care and know what to look for, e.g. clean nails, hair always done, but most of all she was well looked after and happy. Thanks to the Manager and team.

Due to dementia and a number of physical problems, including losing the ability to stand, my mother needed 24 hr care. We chose Hazelgrove because it was local to her home and, although not as luxurious as some homes, we liked the caring attitude of staff, and the way they welcomed family and pets,
which had been the most important factors in Mum's life. She was unsettled at home and has been equally unsettled at Hazelgrove, but the staff do their best to comfort and cheer her. An important pleasure for her are meals, and she enjoys the nicely laid tables and a wide variety of food. We have raised some concerns with the manager and had excellent responses. My mother's needs are challenging, as are those of other residents, considering these and the physical limitations of the building, the staff provide a very good service, clearly underpinned by a caring and respectful ethos set by the management team.

I have found the level of care shown to my wife to be exceptionally of a high level. The professional quality by all staff I have met and seen has been of the highest level. The food is of high quality, along with the cleanliness. All residents have a very comfortable environment. The activities given
to residence is beyond reproach by very caring staff members. The control of medicines is of a very high standard management provide a well organised run care home with very friendly control procedures to all employees.

My husband came into Hazelgrove when I could no longer cope with his deteriorating health and difficult behaviour. He has settled very well - much better than I dared to hope. The home is warm and comfortable. The staff are kind and caring and cope with him very well. The food is excellent. Residents
are always given choices. There is a pleasant garden and activities for those who wish to take part. He receives very good physical care from the nurses and local GP.

My ex-neighbour/friend/POA has been very well cared for almost 2 years. She responds well to staff and enjoys her food. Her hair/nails/well-being are monitored and achieved with her permission and with dignity. She recently had a 90th birthday party and the home put a 'turn' on and lovely 'party food'
for her friends.
P.S. No smell of cabbage on entering!

Very caring, only ever seen very caring, nice staff.
'Home' cooked meals, very good. It doesn't have the 'smell' of an 'old folks home'.

Mam always seems very happy when we visit. She seems to be as healthy as is possible and looks like she is cared for. Sometimes she does not seem to be wearing her own clothes but she usually looks clean.

This is a small friendly home so residents and staff get to know each other well - family members also join in together having a laugh with residents and staff. Mam has settled well with home and carers. All her needs are met and more. The home and I work together to make Mam's stay a happy one.
