All our exchanges with the staff at Milford House have exceeded expectation. They aren't just professional and knowledgable, they are kind, caring and take an active interest in my father. He has gone from strength to strength since moving in, the lovely surroundings are clean and well maintained and
his fears have been listened to attentively and managed coordinating with family members. Getting older isn't always easy but Milford House has offered not just a House but a Home, safety and security. Thank you to all the staff for your unfailing smiles and your positive outlook

Hazelgrove Care Home

from Julie S (Wife of Resident) published on 18 August 2025
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 2.0 out of 5
Sadly our experience of Hazelgrove was far from a 10*rating. The 2 stars I have given are for the few genuinely lovely carers. My husband required bariatric care but although advertised as available it was in fact sadly lacking. The nursing care particularly was woefully inadequate in my opinion. We
had serious misgivings about a number of health and safety aspects which have been brought to the attention of the management who have been dismissive of our concerns. The Manager (who has now left) was extremely rude, and disrespectful to myself and family members. After my husband passed away we received no condolences from the Manager or Milford Care Group for 7 weeks and only then because they had to acknowledge my complaint, which I find shockingly unprofessional.
Reply from Pierre Falleth, Director & Business Manager at Hazelgrove Care Home

Thank you for taking the time to share your views. While we're sorry to hear that the experience did not meet your expectations, the description of our care home does not reflect what we see day to day at Hazelgrove or the feedback we receive from the vast majority of families. We take every concern seriously. All concerns are thoroughly investigated, as were yours, and responded to in full. Where an investigation finds no evidence to support a concern, this is not a sign of being "dismissive" but of our commitment to responding based on the facts. We expect and promote respectful communication at all times, and our own records and other feedback do not indicate behaviour of the kind described. We remain proud of our team and their dedication to providing safe, compassionate care.We are grateful for people taking the time to give feedback, but unfortunately we do not recognise the description here of our care home or our excellent management team.

The excellent care home residents are happy and looked after. Value for money. I found as the daughter of my mum, absolutely very enjoyable respite for us both.
Outstanding, excellent, clean, modern. Mum enjoyed herself and I had the rest. Thank you for making knew area of the lodge.
All the staff
are friendly, smiling, calm, professional, reassuring, very helpful, always smiling. They became friends to me and my mum and the residents too. The activities: musical bingo, book corner, pop music quiz, going into the garden, watering plants and flowers, Mum loved. I appreciated seeing videos and photos updates every day of how Mum is doing. A beautiful room, bathroom, and shower with sink, a modern, clean bedroom and TV for mum to watch. Mum had her hair done too.
Reply from Jim Watt, Manager at Ashbourne Lodge

Our mother spent two years at Ashbourne Lodge. The care that she received was impeccable.
The management (especially the manager) are friendly, helpful and approachable and really did their best to accommodate mum's needs.
All of the individual care staff and ancillary staff are wonderful, super friendly
and caring.
The range of activities provided by the home is extensive and they also provide services such as hairdressing.
