My mother has been in Lavender Court for over ten months. As her needs have increased the home has responded promptly and always kept me informed. The Meadows care has my absolute trust that they are acting in my mothers best interests. Mum can be difficult at times, she is clean, well fed and her room is kept clean. I visit every three days.

Mum has come on leaps and bounds since coming into The Meadows. Mum has put on weight and through the care and dedication of carers and nurses mums pressure sore has nearly mended. The carers work closely with the nurses and family. You only have to query something and it is quickly followed up and worked on. I can safely say that with mum being in The Meadows I can rest at ease knowing full well mum is being looked after.

I would say this feels like home to my mother. The regular staff are wonderful and treat everyone with dignity. They try so hard to find out what the residents like/dislike and treat everyone as individuals. There is lots of humour and love in this home. All the regular staff deserve awards. I'm a little concerned about the lack of commitment by some of the bank staff.

Since the new manager started the staff seem happier and more relaxed the atmosphere has definitely changed for the better. Some decoration has been done, but a lot more is needed. Some of the areas are quite dull and outdated. The main staff are as amazing as ever - I do feel that some of the residents need more specialised care that another home can offer and it does have an effect on the rest of the residents living there.

The Staff at The Meadows both Rose Court and Lavender are amazing. They ensured that the run up to Christmas was exciting for the residents and on Christmas Day you could really see the total effort that was made from food, decorations, presents and the overall experience.

We were lucky to visit when they had entertainment and even a visit from Santa. Well done to the manager and his team.

Having my mamar play such a crucial role in my life it was not an easy decision for my myself and family to move her to a care home. However the support of the manager and the staff has been outstanding and seeing my mamar settle in so well over these past couple of months has been so reassuring that she is getting the best care she deserves. The manager has been able to answer any questions and has gone out of his way to ensure that my family and I have felt reassured.

It is clear when you visit that the staff care so well for the residents and there's often activities and entertainment happening. I can't thank the management and staff enough for the care and support all the residents and their families receive.

My father has spent a few months in The Meadows so far following an acute stroke in May. Dad being in a care home has been an adjustment for us all (he is 68), but the manager and his friendly, helpful team have really helped this go as smoothly as possible. The staff have really made Dad feel at home. They try to make light of situations with him and build rapport. The food is brilliant, which is great as it has really encouraged Dad to eat. This is brilliant as he had to have a peg feed fitted in hospital due to his oral intake being so low. Now he is doing really well and will hopefully be able to have this removed soon.

One nurse in particular has been extremely supportive and provided exceptional support to us as a family. The manager himself has really supported us as a family as we face an uncertain trial period of Dad returning home. He has always responded to my calls and emails and I could not be more thankful for this level of support at such a difficult time for us all.

My wife, who has a diagnosis of advanced vascular dementia, entered The Meadows in early January and from day one she has been treated exceptionally well, because of her condition my wife gets confused and withdrawn when confronted with change, but the staff, who are all kind, caring and friendly, have shown a great deal patience and understanding with her and she now seems to be settling in nicely. From the first meeting with the manager, he has shown an awareness and understanding of my wife's condition and her future care requirements, he has also been supportive and informative, always available to answer any questions or queries I've had, as indeed are all his staff. I feel reassured that my wife will be well looked after at The Meadows.

I am so happy with the care home, my father is a resident and I am happy that he is cared for at all times, the staff are always polite and friendly and the home always has a warm, homely atmosphere. I understand the staff work so hard but always make time for everyone, I met the new manager and he was very welcoming and easy to talk to, I never met the previous manager but the new maanger went out his way to meet and greet me which is lovely. I work in the same sector so I know time is precious but nothing was to much trouble. The only thing I would like to change if possible is the size of my father's bedroom but it is made nice for him but feel he would benefit from a larger space. Great staff, great manager and a lovely home from home environment.

My husband had been using The Meadows, Lavender Court for a few years for respite breaks. When the time came to be a permanent resident last May, that's where he wanted to be. Despite a 50-mile round trip for me to visit, I wouldn't have wanted him anywhere else. Excellent care and a lovely atmosphere. When he moved to the nursing side, Rose Court, the good quality continued. In his final months, he was treated with dignity and compassion. I cannot praise all of The Meadows staff highly enough, nurses, carers, cooks and cleaners.

After 4 years as a resident at The Meadows, my mum passed away in January. She had excellent end-of-life care and her immediate family was able to spend quality time with her in her final hours. I have always had an exceptional relationship with the staff and I would not hesitate to recommend The Meadows.

The team at the Meadows cared for my mum for over 3 years, with care, compassion, and understanding every step of the way, from when we phoned looking for help at short notice, to her passing away. Mum was very much treated as an individual during her time at the Meadows, and at the end of life, the team ensured that her wishes and best interests were respected, for which we were very thankful and it allowed her to pass peacefully as she would have wanted. Thank you to the whole team for the care given during mum's time with you.

My father came directly from hospital and was taken care of immediately and I was updated by staff at The Meadows Dad settled quite well, although his eyesight stopped him from joining in with activities. Everyone was very friendly and helpful with Dad. Unfortunately, he was only with them for 13 days when he suddenly passed away.

Rachel SquireJob Title:Home ManagerJoined: 2023

I began my caring career at 19 years old as a care assistant and worked my way up to being a Home Manager over a decade ago. When I found Milford Care in 2023, it was like coming home.

Our ethos and values are so unique, and our passion for what we do makes Milford Care a very special place to be a part of. I love that every day is different at the Meadows, there is a diverse and unique community of people here, and I love to celebrate that.

I thrive in a busy environment with lots to do, and the Meadows is just that! I love to bring positivity and laughter to our home.

Outside of work, I love to keep busy, spending time with my family and singing in a choir based in Belper.
