Talk about kicking someone when are down! This is the only way I can express how angry I am about the way my husband has been treated.
The food is disgusting. Carers are lazy.
The icing on the cake was Friday. A seriously ill man, needing medical attention by the hospital, was fobbed off for the best part of 10 hours.

Absolutely disgusting. I have made a report to CQC. I’m going to take legal advice for negligence.

We are sorry that you feel that your husband did not receive the care you expected during his short stay at The Meadows and we take concerns extremely seriously. We will investigate these issues thoroughly and we shall speak with you privately in due course.

It is really unfortunate that you were...

My mum was only with The Meadows for a short time on discharge from the hospital with a broken hip and dementia. The care she received was excellent. The staff did everything they could to help her. They were so kind to both my mum and me, and you can't buy kindness.

I have really appreciated the care the staff have shown during this difficult time. They have managed to organise some innovative socially distanced ways that have helped me to see my father, and for him to see us. A very big thank you!

Mum has been a full-term resident of here since March 2020. Despite the incredibly difficult conditions that all the staff are working in due to the global pandemic of the coronavirus, the staff have been excellent. They have tried everything they can to enable me to keep in contact with my mum including Skype calls, garden visits, window visits and most recently hallway visits. The staff are caring and very professional.

My wife is my full-time carer, and I attend The Meadows every six weeks or so for a week so that she gets a break. Having used two other care homes in the past 10-years, I find The Meadows excellent in every respect and will continue to use it as long as they will have me! It is clean, friendly, well-appointed with very caring staff. It feels like visiting an old friend when I go, so that I am comfortable, cared for and feel safe. The staff always have time for RAK's (random acts of kindness).

He came to The Meadows from the hospital where he was suffering from delirium and was unable to be cared for at home. During his stay at The Meadows, the delirium greatly eased, and he was able to return home. During his stay, the staff were kind, polite and helpful at all times, and we are really grateful for all the help you provided at this difficult time.

My mother came to stay at The Meadows for a week respite. We were apprehensive but needn't be. Staff very friendly and helpful. Mum really appears to be enjoying her stay. Decided to stay for another week. I would like to say a thank you to staff at The Meadows for making a really difficult time less stressful in providing the care and support to mum that she needs.

When my husband had a stroke, I never thought he would have to go into a care home. When we looked at The Meadow it was ok, so we let him stay. He's been in The Meadow a few months and he's settled in. If he is ok there then so am I for him to stay. We've got to know the staff and they all seem very nice and caring, do a good job caring for their patients.

The Meadows care home is suiting both mum and dad. They have adjacent bedrooms and when possible are placed side by side in the lounge area to hold hands. The meals are excellent and thoughtfully served. My only niggle is the amount of laundry that goes missing, particularly socks and underwear. Mum and dad are both deaf and mum can be very demanding, expecting things to be done immediately. The carers are dealing with this situation and providing an excellent service.

When we were told that our dad needed to go into a nursing home we were very unsure. But he was ill and needed 24/7 care. He was very unsteady on his feet and needed help with everything including his eating but now he is walking well, going to the toilet on his own, dressing himself and eating everything put in front of him. The care he has received has been excellent. The nurses and carers obviously have everything right.

My sister and I would like to thank all the staff at The Meadows, Lavender Court for the care and attention our mother received during her 18 months at the home. It was a daunting decision to make when we knew she needed more care than we could give her, but from the moment she entered the home she was settled and well looked after, and all our fears were allayed. All the staff were genuinely kind to her and dealt with any health issues she had immediately. The atmosphere is very pleasant and relaxed and we were made to feel welcome and supported by the staff, who are a credit to the organisation. We would certainly recommend the home to anyone.

Mum initially took residence at Lavender Court, but within a few weeks, it was obvious that she needed additional care. Things became difficult very quickly and necessitated in a visit to A&E. The staff recognised a deterioration in the situation and very quickly arranged for Mum to enter nursing care at Rose Court next door.

All the staff at both Lavender and Rose Court look after the residents very well. I visit very regularly and any problem with Mum is immediately dealt with. Residents without relatives or friends are dealt with equally well. I was worried about choosing a home for Mum and reluctant to allow her to move, but I have no complaints about the care and attention she is receiving. Thank you to all the staff who do a really good job under very difficult circumstances.

What I had feared most, taking my wife (who has Alzheimer's) to a nursing home and the effect on her. When we arrived at an appointed time, I was overwhelmed with the greeting we received on arrival, a very jovial group of staff allayed my fears. She has settled in very well, everything here is done with smiles, warmth and compassion. The manager helped me through the darkest hours of my life with comfort and advice. The staff are brilliant, creating a very relaxed, comforting atmosphere. Completely redecorated this year and spotless. I was astonished the effort they put into getting everyone into the dining room they possibly can for lunch. Drinks and snacks through the day, including visitors. 5 star hotel.

What a fantastic home. My mother got transferred to the nursing home after a spell in hospital. All of the staff there were caring, professional and nothing was too much trouble, not only for my mother but for family too. First-class home.

My Mum was at The Meadows for over 4 years, both at the care home and the nursing home. Mum was, to say the least, a 'character'. She had a diverse range of needs which her carers managed with great care and sensitivity giving her dignity and compassion in difficult circumstances. It is a hard decision to make having a parent in care but this was made easier for me by the way Mum was in, what became her home.
