The care home was clean, tidy and well kept. The bedrooms are well presented and the beds comfortable. The toilets are always clean. The staff are superb. They are friendly, caring and react promptly and efficiently when needed. They leave one feeling reassured that one's relative is being well cared for.

My aunt became a resident here and I can say with my hand on my heart that should I have to go into a nursing home The Meadows would be the home I would choose. I have informed my children of this. There is always a carer and a nurse wherever you are, they are always checking in on residents and also asked me how I was. You can tell each and everyone of the staff including the office staff, chef and maintenance guys all care and do so by showing their respect for the elderly as if they were their own family members. I cannot say enough about The Meadows.

I brought my sister from Wales to be near me. My daughter checked out others but could not fault The Meadows, so I brought her here. Since then I have had to move her from the residential side to nursing, although the staff are good my sister kept falling. I was called out at 6.30am as she had broken her nose. Five times in one week she fell. Since I moved her not one fall. The staff and management in the nursing side are worth their weight in gold. Every resident is treated with respect. I go in every day so tend to notice things but even the maintenance men treat them with respect. You have amazing staff in there that don't forget to laugh which in the resident's live means a lot. Go on, give them a rise, they deserve it xxx

Rachel SquireJob Title Home ManagerJoined 2023

I began my caring career at 19 years old as a care assistant and worked my way up to being a Home Manager over a decade ago. When I found Milford Care in 2023, it was like coming home.

Our ethos and values are so unique, and our passion for what we do makes Milford Care a very special place to be a part of. I love that every day is different at the Meadows, there is a diverse and unique community of people here, and I love to celebrate that.

I thrive in a busy environment with lots to do, and the Meadows is just that! I love to bring positivity and laughter to our home.

Outside of work, I love to keep busy, spending time with my family and singing in a choir based in Belper.
