The Royal has been outstanding in their care for my sister. It is very well run and managed. The carers are without exception trained to a high standard and I've seen nothing but kindness towards my sister who needs total care. They take time to try and understand her needs even though she struggles with her speech. There is a good selection of food at meal times and alternatives offered. They have a space chair and hoist so are able to offer showers and bath. The rooms and other areas are kept spotlessly clean. Overall I think the management and staff deserve the highest praise for their commitment to the comfort of their patients.

My mother received excellent care at the nursing home, from management, nurses, carers, a cook and a handyman, all involved in her care. They were all pleasant and dedicated to their job and I can't thank them enough.

I have power of attorney and I'm next of kin for a lady I've looked after for 15 years, she is 87 and had to go into a nursing home as she's a bit poorly and had carers at home for quite a long time but had safeguarding issues. The care was shocking so we changed to a different company, a lot better but not to the standard it should be so I was advised to look for somewhere my friend could go for 24-hour care. I chose The Royal at Rossington, so glad I did, my friend is so comfortable and well cared for, nothing is too much trouble, she has a lovely pleasant room, she said the food is very good and told me I'm not coming home with you, I'm staying in this hotel. My friend after all these years has finally got what she rightfully deserves, expert care and compassion and the most important thing love so thank you everyone, my friend is happy and so am I.

Although extremely busy, staff were caring, friendly and always treated our mum with dignity and respect. Any concerns that we raised were dealt with quicky and effectively. Family and friends that visited were always made to feel welcomed. The onsite hairdressers and activities program are fully inclusive. We also enjoyed attending the resident and community coffee morning held on a Thursday.

I think it’s generally ok, but sometimes the staff seem a little too busy and overworked. Everyone seems friendly and polite. Not too happy about patients wandering in and out of my mum's room. However, I realise it’s hard to stop this.

My father was a resident at The Royal for about 2 years until he passed away on 07/10/2023. During my visits he would always comment on how well the staff looked after him. I was impressed that staff upon my arrival would ask if I wanted to see my father in his room or day lounge or indeed the cabin out in the garden. The cabin was my favourite place to spend time with my father. Any queries I raised were always answered promptly. My father enjoyed his time at The Royal and the staff must take full credit for that.

Following my father's death I was contacted immediately by a staff member and I can only thank the staff who greatly assisted in his transfer to the funeral company's chapel of rest. The Royal is professionally operated by very competent staff and I cannot thank them enough for the care of my father in his final years.

This care home is run to a high standard and has all the facilities needed to provide excellent care. The staff are extremely caring and the residents always look happy. There is a great activities program and all the residents are included in this no matter of any disability or health issues they may have.
The home is always clean and I always feel welcome when visiting.

I would have every confidence in the staff and manager of The Royal should I need a care facility for members of my own family.

My mother is a resident at this home since February and I only have praise for the home. They are very welcoming and accommodating. My mother has very challenging behaviour at times and a lot of care needs due to her Alzheimer’s and the staff go above and beyond to meet all her needs. All are very friendly and caring to her and the family. They are also very good with my father who has found my mother needing to be in care very difficult. The home has a lovely garden for residents and family to use. There are always activities and events going on. My mother also likes to get her hair and nails done at their salon.

My Grandma has been a resident in this care home now for 8 years, we cannot fault the staff. They go above and beyond and have a real care and passion for what they do. They listen to residents and family members on their residents needs. My grandma before having dementia always had her hair and nails done perfectly and they ensured this was maintained where possible. It’s the attention to detail which is key and the staff here are amazing at what they do. I would recommend The Royal to everyone.

Couldn’t thank the Royal care home enough. My husband's grandad was in for a short time and I absolutely loved hearing his stories about what he had been up to. It's a great care home with great staff - great all-round. I just went to the management for her support in not just caring for my husband's grandad, but also his family too.

My mum is currently a resident at the Royal and we are so pleased with the care she is receiving. The staff are so caring to my mum, even though she does sometimes have a temper, due to Alzheimer’s. They are also so warm and welcoming to us. The home put on some great activities for the residents and we love seeing my mum taking part in these on the updates on Facebook. I would definitely recommend the Royal and its amazing staff.

My father had a very short stay at the Royal and sadly he passed away on the 12th April 2022. I just wanted to say how impressed we were as a family with the care, respect, and dignity my father received in his final days. I would like to say thank you on behalf of our family for the kindness, care, and compassion that we received in the days leading up to his passing. This care home is outstanding, thank you again.

Slightly lower ratings due to some issues regarding communication, however, we are aware that the pandemic may have attributed to some of this. The staff appeared to be very caring and acted upon concerns when they were raised, also recognising when medical help was needed and contacting the doctors. My brother appeared to be very fond of the staff who took the time to understand his sense of humour.

My mother was cared for at The Royal care home between November 2019 and November 2021. Throughout this long period, I was impressed by the dedication shown by all members of staff involved in looking after her. This ranges from the cooks, cleaning staff, carers, and nursing staff, to managers and the activities coordinator. Unfortunately, during this period, the care home had to follow national guidelines regarding the covid-19 pandemic. The staff adapted and continued in their caring roles and importantly, enabled contact with Mum to continue (although restricted) due to her circumstances. I believe that my mum's generally positive state of mind and health, during much of this time, was due to the caring attitude of the staff who looked after her, as well as the nursing care she received. For this reason, I will always be grateful and would recommend the Royal as a place for quality care.

With bad dementia, the gentleman was treated with dignity and was able to communicate with the staff in a restricted way. But he was happy and settled, enjoying his meals and living the life he was able to, during the pandemic, which he did not understand at all.
