Ideally located in the scenic village of Calverton, not too far from the hustle and bustle of Nottingham, Springwater Lodge Care Home provides high quality and person-centred residential, nursing and residential dementia care in a friendly and welcoming setting.

The whole team, from care to kitchen, is on hand to help you or your loved one settle into life in the home, and every aspect of care provision is completely personalised to not only ensure every resident receives the support they need, but that they are also living a life that makes them happy.

The varied and enriching activities programme, designed by the Wellbeing Coordinators, offers a range of things for residents to participate in, whether that be continuing well-loved hobbies or learning something new. Meanwhile, the catering team work hard to create menus that reflect nutritious options as well as meals that residents enjoy, suited to their personal tastes and dining requirements.

Inside, Springwater Lodge offers a tranquil space where the ethos is centred on making people feel at home. The three sitting rooms offer views of the garden and are a great space to relax and spend time with others and the en suite bedrooms ensure there is always a private space to retreat too. Additional features include an onsite hairdressing salon, a quiet room and a conservatory, where each season can be enjoyed from the comfort of indoors.

My dad recently moved into this care home, because of covid and living 2 hours away I've been unable to visit but the staff have been brilliant at letting me zoom call him weekly. He always looked nice and clean and well looked after. He has a new chair that supports him much better than a wheelchair.
Even though my dad has dementia I feel like he's got a bit of life back rather than laying in bed all the time like he used to in his old care home. I got to have a window visit today with my dad and from what I have seen the home was very clean and looked fully staffed. Massive thank you to everyone that looks after my dad, I work in care myself and I know how hard it is normally, nevermind with covid19 added on top. I am truly grateful.

My Mother is well cared for during a very difficult time for both residents and staff. The last time I visited she looked lovely, her hair had obviously been washed and brushed and she seemed quite contented. I can only thank the staff once again for the kindness shown when caring for my Mum.

We have been really pleased and thankful for the care given to my aunty. All the carers are friendly and look after her with compassion and kindness. My aunty is very happy at Springwater, and that gives us great peace of mind. Over the four years she has been there, we have got to know lots of the
staff, it is like one big happy family. Thank you so much for all you have done, it means a lot to us.

I came with my wife to visit my neighbour. She appears to have settled in very well. It was good to see she had participated in the home social function. The staff are first-class and most supportive in whatever was needed. Clearly, the staff love what they do.

We have the very highest regard for Springwater Lodge Care Home. My brother was diagnosed with dementia and my husband and I had to place him in a care home, we couldn't have wished for a better place. The care he received was wonderful, the nurses, care, staff and management were first-class. There
was always many functions arranged, a hairdresser visited weekly and the chiropodist called regularly. The food was of the highest standard, we can recommend the home to everyone. We felt like part of a family and made many friends. Top marks to all concerned, you have a place in our hearts. Thank you.

The management and staff are the most important parts of any care home. The current team do an excellent job and my aunt values this very highly. They are respectful, compassionate and hardworking, making her feel loved and valued. I feel that a bit more could be done regarding activities compared to
my knowledge of other care homes. Overall, the care is excellent with the only limitations being imposed by the building design.
Reply from Clare Sheehan, Careline Advisor at Springwater Lodge Care HomeThank you for your feedback. Following our recent discussion, I understand that you observed a decrease in activities over the last few months compared to other care homes, however; you have seen improvements in activities provision within Springwater Lodge in the last few weeks. I confirmed that we would work together with the wellbeing co-ordinator to set up a club in which your Aunt and other Residents with the same interests could spend time together. Thank you for bringing this to our attention and helping us to improve care at Springwater Lodge.

Review from Lyn D (Relative of Resident) published on 13 January 2020 Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
My relative chose to move into Springwater from another care home and she is very happy there. She gets on well with the staff and says the food is lovely. There have been improvements with my relative's speech since being in this care home due to more interaction and she is eating more than she has
for a long time. I have seen the food served and it is consistently good, with plenty of choices. There are always snacks and drinks available for people to help themselves to. The staff are all very caring and my relative adores them. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, they try to cater to everyone's needs and wishes and there is often fun and banter to be heard. My relative likes to get involved in the regular bingo and visits from the church. Springwater is home from home for her and during a period of being unwell recently, I have been really impressed with the quality of the manager and staff and how kind and welcoming they have been to me as a visitor.

My husband was admitted a year ago. He has Alzheimer's and has received excellent care from the kind and caring staff. He still enjoys any activities involving music and dancing! As well as other social activities. We all feel as a family that he is well cared for and happy.

My mother has now resided at Springwater Lodge Care Home for a whole year. While this is a fairly traumatic experience for most of the family, Mother has been well looked after, is comfortable and is generally very happy in the home, where she is receiving nursing care.
The staff have been generally
excellent, attentive and caring, though the transition between managers has not gone as smoothly as it could have, that is a problem with the system, not the care home - where there is a designated, appointed person, there, in my opinion, should be a three month notice period, not one month.

Staff always willing and helpful despite being very very short staffed.
Personal hygiene care to patients not attended to enough.
Food excellent.
Would not want my mother staying there as their £815.00 per week is not justified. Need more staff.

In the five months that my wife has been cared for in this home, I have the greatest admiration for all the staff involved in her care.
The welcome everyone receives here is the very best possible. I have friends who visit other homes and they have all been impressed with the service here. I know
from my visits what a trial some of the residents are but I can only speak too highly of their care and dedication to their job.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.525)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.525) out of 10 for Springwater Lodge Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 12 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 12 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.725 for Springwater Lodge Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (107 Excellents x 5) + (31 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 142 Ratings = 4.725
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.8 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Springwater Lodge Care Home is based on 12 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.8
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 50 registered maximum number of service users is 10, which has been reached with 12 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
