Mum is very settled here and has made new friends. Mum has had her room decorated to her own taste and has personalised it with her own belongings. All the staff are lovely, friendly and always approachable. They are very caring and any issues are dealt with straight away. The Management are a great team who work hard to support residents, family and staff. The home is very clean and welcoming. There are regular activities during the week and other activities and special events on through out the year. Mum particularly likes it when any singers come in and it's nice to see her singing along. There is a lovely garden to sit in when the weather is nice.

My experience with Oakbank Care Home is they are outstanding in every way. From management to staff. My mum has been in a care home before but Oakbank blows that one out of the water. Everybody who works at Oakbank are all very professional in what they do. Thank you all very much.

Oakbank staff were so lovely and friendly. They looked after my mother for 6 weeks after my brother had an operation. It was only the second time my mother had to stay in a nursing home and she was upset and confused (dementia) she soon settled in and made friends, she loved the activities and felt safe, thanks to the amazing staff. The meals and snacks are tasty. The home also arranged doctor's appointments for an ongoing medical condition and kept us informed. Highly recommend.

Every need is met here if we ask for anything it is there, or all sorted. Nothing is too much trouble for anyone, they go over and above board, more than they need to. Absolutely amazing place, so pleased I picked Oakbank. I would 100% recommend this home for a loved one.

Overall Experience

My grandma stayed at Oakbank Care Home for two weeks of respite care, and the experience was extremely positive for both her and our family. The staff were outstanding - kind, empathetic, and genuinely compassionate in the way they cared for her. She was treated with dignity and warmth at all times, which gave us enormous reassurance.

The care home itself is exceptionally well run, with clear organisation and a calm, supportive atmosphere throughout. This experience was particularly meaningful for us as it followed a very poor experience with a previous provider, and the contrast could not have been greater.

We are incredibly grateful to the whole team for the care they provided and cannot recommend Oakbank highly enough.

I have scored the management as poor, since they have taken over, we have had no contact with them, they do not have a visible presence. So do not communicate with residents or visitors. Also the catering staff do not offer alternative meals, if what is on offer is not suitable for the residents, my mother informed me she went without lunch one day as it was something she could not eat. This would not have happened with the previous management, alternatives should always be available.

I cannot express how excellent this care home is, the staff go above and beyond, nothing is too much trouble for them. They all always have a smile on their face and always have time to answer your questions, even to say good morning and have a good day. They join in with activities and make if fun and happy for the residents. Such a wonderful lovely place. I would highly recommend it.

My name is Kelly Green, and I have dedicated over 22 years of my life to the care profession—a journey driven by a deep passion for supporting others. From the very beginning, I knew that working in care was more than just a job for me; it was a calling. Over the years, I’ve grown in experience, compassion, and leadership, and today I proudly serve as the Residential Manager at Unity Homes.

I joined Unity Homes 8 years ago as a Senior Care Assistant. Through hard work, continuous learning, and the support of an incredible team, I progressed to Deputy Manager and eventually into my current role.

Every day in this field brings new challenges and meaningful moments, and I truly believe in the power of teamwork to overcome obstacles and deliver exceptional care. For me, person-centred care is at the heart of everything we do, ensuring that each resident is treated with dignity, respect, and personalised support.

Leading with empathy and dedication, I strive to create a warm, professional environment where both staff and residents can thrive.

My name is Geethu, and I began my career in healthcare after completing a Bachelor of Nursing degree from Mahatma Gandhi University. Since 2014, I’ve had the opportunity to work in various nursing roles that have helped me grow both professionally and personally. I started as a Theatre Nurse, where I built a strong clinical foundation and developed a deep appreciation for teamwork and patient-centred care. My journey continued through positions as a Staff Nurse, Deputy Ward Manager, and eventually, Ward Manager at North Manchester General Hospital, where I led the Trauma Orthopaedic Ward with pride and purpose.

Over the years, I’ve become passionate about leading with compassion, supporting staff, and delivering the highest quality care. I enjoy mentoring junior nurses, solving problems, and driving improvements through initiatives like LEEL (Listening, Exploring, Enabling, Leading). My strengths include leadership, team coordination, clinical excellence, and clear communication.
