My Grandmother wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for Oakbank Care Home and their brilliant staff who have nursed her back to health from a very poor state. The staff are very caring and attentive and the facilities are very well maintained.

I was amazed at the care given to my mother in the 2 yrs she stayed at Oakbank. Great care, great staff, not only cared for my mother but were very concerned about my health, having been diagnosed with cancer.

Oakbank has/is a lovely care home. I cannot thank the staff enough for all their help and support.
They have helped my mother in any area she has required.
Although her room is nice, the door stop has not been working correctly for a while and the TV and aerial does not fit correctly.
We would recommend
Oakbank, as they have helped my mother's quality of life.

My mum was in the care home for 3 months before returning home but as things didn’t work out at home she returned back to Oakbank and was welcomed back by all the staff. She is treated with dignity and respect and the staff are always happy to help with any queries or help mum with any needs she has
even though they are extremely busy they find the time for my mum, she is well looked after and kept safe and the food is my mums favourite, she has some lovely friendships with her carers there now which helps her social awkwardness and stubbornness as she has dementia and struggles to trust new people but at Oakbank nothing is to much trouble for mum and I thank all the staff for there kindness towards her.

My mum moved to Oakbank from the hospital in March 2017. At first I was a bit put off by the negative online reviews, however, I found these to be untrue.
The staff are all very lovely, approachable and dedicated to the residents. They are organised and run a smooth home.
There were only 2 issues;
1)
Shortage of staff - every single day was short staffed. Agency workers covered a lot of shifts and the residents do not know them.
2) Activities/days out. Is a small range of activities but are no outings, days out, cinema, lunch trips. All the residents I spoke with complained about the boredom.
My mum progressed so well in the care of Oakbank that she has now returned home. Something we (her family) did not think possible. I recommend and would be happy for my mum to return.

We have found as a family that as this is our first experience of a member of the family going into a home it is very good.
The staff are very helpful to us answering all our questions and always having time to spend with any member of the family if there is ever that we need questions answered.

Oakbank Care home is a lovely home situated in North Manchester. The staff in there are very polite and very helpful. They can't do anything wrong. The home itself is always clean and they take care of their residents very well. I would recommend this care home to anyone who needs care in later life.

I have had no problems overall and if I have, I have had a chat with the staff or the manager over it. I like the care home, my dad has been upstairs for a few years, but now he is on the nursing side. My dad is very poorly and all the staff have been great to him, even the upstairs staff have come
to see him. I think some of the agency staff they use could be more experienced and should know more of what to do.

I started as a Theatre Nurse, where I built a strong clinical foundation and developed a deep appreciation for teamwork and patient-centred care. My journey continued through positions as a Staff Nurse, Deputy Ward Manager, and eventually, Ward Manager at North Manchester General Hospital, where I led the Trauma Orthopaedic Ward with pride and purpose.


Over the years, I’ve become passionate about leading with compassion, supporting staff, and delivering the highest quality care. I enjoy mentoring junior nurses, solving problems, and driving improvements through initiatives like LEEL (Listening, Exploring, Enabling, Leading). My strengths include leadership, team coordination, clinical excellence, and clear communication. As I now step into the next chapter of my career in a Nurse Manager role at Oak Bank, I’m excited to bring my experience, dedication, and love for nursing into a role where I can continue making a meaningful difference.
