I'm so glad that my mum chose to live at Ringway Mews when she found it hard living by herself, she is treated with dignity, care and respect by all members of the staff.
In the year she has lived there, her confidence as grown and she calls Ringway Mews her home. She has privacy, but also if the mood
takes her there is also someone to chat with whether staff or another resident.
If you're worried about a relative coming to stay for a while or to live here, please don't. It's an awesome place!

All the staff are attentive and are kind and caring to our dad. His communication is limited and his mobility is very poor so he is unable to engage in any facilities. Now after covid things are getting more normal again and we would like to take dad outside in the fresh air. He hasn't been outside
for over two years.
Reply from Julie Caygill, Hospital Liaison Team Administrator at Ringway Mews Care HomeThank you for your review, we value all feedback as this helps us to improve our service where required. We very much appreciate your kind words about the team at Ringway Mews. I will ensure this is passed on to them. We understand the restrictions during the pandemic have been difficult for the loved ones of the people in our care, and we are all so pleased these restrictions have been reduced. We will be happy to support your father and you to get back out into the community to enjoy the fresh air.

My brother is receiving excellent care. He is well nourished, always clean and although his dementia is advanced he is included in the life of the unit and always treated with dignity and respect. Medical care is excellent. He has improved physically while being here. The staff obviously like him and
take the trouble to interact with him. Very good value for money. Strongly recommend.

I find this home very caring not just for the residents but their families and they are very understanding. All the staff are friendly and very very caring. They have a lot of activities and try and include all the residents. My mother isn't the easiest to deal with and she can show very aggressive
behaviour at times, but they always find a way to distract her.

The staff on the Shackleton Unit are amazing with my mum, so caring and lovely to her. I couldn't thank them all enough. When I ring in, as well, they are so kind and accommodating regarding visits which have meant such a lot to me. Thank you for your hard work and kindness.

Always find the staff helpful. The last few visits, the room has been dirty, but I understand there's a staff shortage. Overall, I am happy with my mum's care. I feel that she is safe and well looked after.

My aunt has been resident here for a couple of months now, the staff are absolutely amazing with her and us. She is so well looked after and treated with lots of kindness and respect. The staff are always so cheerful and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. There are so many personal touches and
even though my aunt is bedbound she is still included, such as putting paper poppies on all the resident's doors for remembrance month, such a nice touch. It is comforting to know that she is so well looked after by caring people.

I've been very impressed with Ringway Mews (Lancaster House) as the staff have kept me informed about my mum's health and wellbeing. Throughout COVID they have sent me photo's and videos of my mum. I have done window visits and hub visits when allowed and my mum always looked clean and well-groomed.
All the staff have been friendly and make me feel comfortable. Would certainly recommend this home.

My aunt is a resident in Lancaster House. It’s been hard with the pandemic but the staff have encouraged face time and safe window visits.
Aunty is so well looked after with the support of the fantastic staff.
It’s great to be having visits in the newly erected pod.

My mum has been at Ringway Mews since May 2020. I cannot fault the care home. The staff have always kept me updated with how mum is doing, my mum has been in Ringway Mews since the pandemic, but they always facilitated safe window visits when possible. And also arranged face to face video calls. The
staff are always friendly and helpful. We are now able to have safe pod visits so I get to sit with mum which is great.

Current Review Score: 8.9 (8.867)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.9 (8.867) out of 10 for Ringway Mews Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.1 out of 5 from 29 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 23 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.100 for Ringway Mews Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (189 Excellents x 5) + (70 Goods x 4) + (34 Satisfactorys x 3) + (17 Poors x 2) + (29 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 339 Ratings = 4.1
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.767 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Ringway Mews Care Home is based on 23 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 150 registered maximum number of service users is 30. 23 Positive Reviews ÷ 30 = 0.767
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
