This was my first visit to my uncle since he transferred. We were warmly welcomed. My uncle looked happy, smart and generally well cared for. His room is bright and pleasant and he seemed much more alert and relaxed at the same time. We were offered a hot drink and as we left had a pleasant conversation with the nurse in charge. So reassuring

My mum was moved here on the 31st July 2023 from another nursing home. A change of management was just happening. So any negative remarks might be from before then. My mum needed 24 hour care due to her having a massive stroke. She finds it difficult to communicate but I can tell she is comfortable and happy. The staff are very caring, helpful and tend to her every need. She enjoys being brought down into the lounge where she can watch other people as she is unable to join in herself, she is always included in the activities. I would recommend your loved one being cared for here.

When I first saw Braeside NH I wondered what I'd done allowing my mum to become a resident. It looked shabby and old fashioned (it has since started a schedule of works to improve it). Very quickly I changed my mind when I realised how warm and caring the staff are ( all staff permanent and know the residents). The food is good, with residents preferences taken into account. My mum's always treated with respect and as an individual. Staff spend time with her and try and boost her confidence and include her in the various activities that go on both inside the home, and in the community. I have access to managers where I have always been listened to and any change requests for mums care actioned. She has now been there 18 months and I can relax knowing that she is so well cared for.

My Dad had dementia and was taken to hospital. After treatment of an infection he picked up, we were informed that he needed more care than the present care home could provide and were told that Braeside Nursing Home had a vacancy. After reading some of the reviews we were quite concerned however, these were unfounded. The nursing home is spotlessly clean although a little tired but the staff couldn't do enough for you and actioned (within reason) any requests put to them. They're helpful and cheerful rather than grudgingly carrying out residents'/families' wishes and preferences. As a family, we were overall very pleased with Braeside and its staff.

My Grandma has recently been a resident at Braeside Nursing Home. The care provided by the staff was exceptional. The staff were caring and kind and treated my Grandma with great respect and dignity. Braeside became a lovely home for her in her final days and months and we could not have asked for better care. Thank you for everything you did for her. With love from my family.

My mum is a resident in the EMI unit and has only been there just over a week. She has been in two other homes previously, which were fine but I can honestly say that Braeside is an absolute gem and that is after such a short time of her being here. It is spotlessly clean, Mums room is lovely, all the staff are extremely friendly and nothing is too much trouble. You are welcome at any time of the day or night and I have been kept up to date with all that is going on with Mum, both medically and personally. The staff are very attentive and I couldn't ask for more than that. They actually appear to be happy working there and I put that down to good management. My dad was a resident four years back and a lot of the staff are still there so something must be right. My uncle, Mums brother-in-law, visited and his first words to me were about how clean Mum looked and he is absolutely correct. No one wants to place a loved one into care but I am so grateful Mum is in one of the best with Braeside.

My Mum has been a resident for over a year now and after settling in very quickly she is still very happy. All the staff do a great job and I feel that they treat residents as they would their own elderly family with respect and dignity.
When I visit the atmosphere is always friendly and I always leave knowing she is in safe hands which means I have peace of mind.

I recommend Braeside highly.

Overall Experience

My sister has lived at Braeside for some time, unfortunately she passed away on Friday 30th of March. I can honestly say she was very happy living there, her comments on the good meals she had and the care she received mean a lot to me as I live far away and was unable to visit as much as I would have liked. Also the carers were always kind on the telephone. The last time I came up I was able to spend some time with her in her room which was spotless. I was more than happy with my visit. I would like to thank everyone for the care they gave her to the end. Wishing Braeside carers and staff every success for the future.
