Review from B R (Friend of Resident) published on 18 May 2022 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

I’ve been visiting my friend at Arden Court since 2021; the home has been strict regarding covid testing and the use of PPE during visits, which showed good management and enhanced residents' safety. Both the management and staff members have been very helpful in dealing with all our requests. Overall, I am satisfied with how my friend is being treated at this home.

My mum has only been at Arden Court for a few weeks, I only wish she came here sooner. All the staff are wonderful, very friendly and approachable. Her room is always clean and tidy, the food smells and looks lovely. Just like you would at home. A big thank you from myself and family to the management and all the staff for everything you do.

Overall Experience

Mum was transferred to Arden Court from hospital and the staff there then took us through how she would be cared for. Mum was in a room overlooking the garden which was really nice with the garden view. The deputy manager/nurse talked through Mum's discharge letter which was end-of-life and the end-of-life coordinator also discussed Mum's care with us. The care given to her was excellent and the staff were there for both Mum and us when we needed them. The manager has a great team who work together really well and show respect to residents and families.

Mum moved into Arden in April 2021. She appears to be settled, the staff are very helpful and caring. Mum is a very quiet person who does not socialise much, the staff have encouraged her to join other residents in the lounge which is good.

As a family, we just want to tell you how grateful we are for the care and devotion your nurses have shown to our dad. We were apprehensive about putting him into a care home and have struggled at home for over twelve months. I feel comforted by the care and communication we have received, thank you.

I've found the new management team have really transformed and the care home has exceeded my expectations. I am extremely happy with the flow of connections and information regarding my father. I am a fussy advocate for my father who I love so dearly, but right now I am feeling happy with his care. He feels very settled and happy too!

After a really traumatic transfer from home life to nursing care my Mother is finally settling into life at Arden Court. I can't praise the staff enough for the understanding and patience shown to my Mother and importantly me and my family. My Mother had a difficult time accepting that she needed this level of care. My observations have been the staff under very strong leadership are achieving a high standard of nursing and care. Care being a really important word in this review. I feel the staff at Arden Court deserve to include that word in their service.

Overall Experience
In March 2019 as a family we searched for a care home for our lovely dad, we were recommended Arden Court due to its high level of care for its residents. As a family, we had many consultations with the experts that for his own welfare Dad would need special care that we could not give him.
From day one, the care and attention Dad received at Arden Court was first class - on my visits I could not only see but feel the care the staff gave him.
During the pandemic, I was given regular updates on Dad and his safety and health. I was given honest updates on his condition along with a direct number for my concerns.
Sadly Dad passed away on Sunday 1st November but not after I had a call to invite me to say goodbye, I arrived on Saturday to a warm respectful nurse who gave me the time I needed with Dad.

I would wholeheartedly like to thank the House Manager, Nurses and the wonderful team at Arden Court for their dedication to the job and the care they gave Dad.

Alina PopescuJob Title:General ManagerJoined: 2021

I embarked on my nursing career following my graduation from Victor Babes University of Medicine in Romania. In 2015, I began my journey in nursing in Northern Ireland.

With a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of care for the elderly, I focused my efforts on general nursing care. In 2021, I reached a milestone by taking on the role of Clinical Lead Nurse. I continued in this position until 2024 when I accepted a new professional challenge by becoming the Home Manager at Arden Court.

My future ambition is to elevate the standards of care, foster a culture of quality, and drive change within the healthcare system.
