I came to visit my mum on her Birthday and the home was having a party for her with a singer on. Lots of residents joined and got involved with musical instruments. Lovely atmosphere and my mum was very happy. Nice to see that they do things like this.

Pendleton Court is a welcoming, caring, friendly, family-orientated home. The residents and family members are made to feel that they can approach the staff about anything, the entertainment provided is varied, days out (where applicable), meals out, singers, concerts and exercise programmes. The home
and its decor is being updated and looks beautfiul and homely, especially at Christmas time. The food is high-quality.

Having spent the majority of my career reviewing/inspecting care homes, I think it speaks volumes that we chose Pendleton Court for Mum. I know that I don't have to worry about Mum and can leave her safely. Staff not only look after and care for residents but their families as well. Thanks everyone.

My mother was admitted to Pendleton on 5th September 2025. She was suffering from dehydration and would not eat. The combined efforts of the carers brought about a great improvement in her condition and within a few weeks she was drinking without prompting and eating solid foods. It was a remarkable
achievement. The staff at Pendleton assisted greatly in enabling a physiotherapist to bring about an improvement in her mobility in that she can now not only get out of bed but also stand for short periods of time. Above all my mother who is nearly 100 years is much less anxious.

To the extraordinary team at Pendleton Court Care Home. For the last 13 years you have been more than a care home for my wife, you have been her sanctuary and our extended family. Caring for a loved one in a vegetative state requires a special kind of dedication and the staff at Pendleton Court exemplify
this every single day. Their professionalism is matched only by their profound compassion. They have not merely attended to her clinical needs with impeccable skill and vigilance, but they have treated her with the utmost dignity, respect. The weight of such a long term situation is immense but the team at Pendleton Court has consistently provided me with peace of mind knowing my wife is in such a capable hands has been the greatest comfort. I cannot recommend Pendleton Court highly enough they are simply the best.

Attended the afternoon BBQ in dining room. Music and entertainment went down well with residents. Food was very good but at times service and staff seemed disorganised and were arguing amongst themselves.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.592)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.592) out of 10 for Pendleton Court Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 58 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 58 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.592 for Pendleton Court Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (440 Excellents x 5) + (213 Goods x 4) + (27 Satisfactorys x 3) + (4 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 684 Ratings = 4.592
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Pendleton Court Care Home is based on 58 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 59 registered maximum number of service users is 11.8, which has been reached with 58 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
