The care my mother had right up until her death, was superb and not enough praise is given to the wonderful staff who really did everything and went the “extra mile” into making my mum’s last days as peaceful and pain-free as they possibly could. They were so caring, thank you so much for everything.

All staff do work well together. All residents are looked after and kept clean. I do feel they could do more and interact and get the residents a bit more active, by light exercise, dancing and singing a little. Some light games with colours and dated items that they used to remember.

Soniya is the Registered Manager at The Willows and has been part of the organisation since 2009. With a background in nursing and many years of experience in care and leadership, Soniya brings a wealth of knowledge, compassion and dedication to her role.
Having worked in a variety of clinical and leadership positions during her time at Unity Homes, Soniya has developed a deep understanding of the people we support and what it means to create a truly caring home. She believes that good care starts with getting to know each person — listening to their wishes, understanding what is important to them and making sure they feel respected, valued and supported.
Soniya’s nursing background is an important part of her approach. After qualifying as a nurse, she moved to the UK to continue her career in health and social care. Her clinical experience helps her to understand the individual needs of residents and supports her commitment to ensuring care is always safe, compassionate and responsive.
Soniya has also completed the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care, helping her to further develop her skills in supporting teams, maintaining high standards and continually improving the service.
For Soniya, one of the most rewarding parts of her role is building relationships with residents, their families and the team. She takes pride in creating a home where people feel comfortable, listened to and able to be themselves. She also believes strongly in supporting her colleagues, recognising that a happy and valued team plays an important part in creating a positive home for residents.
