My husband was in your care for 2 weeks until his death on 17.09.21. All the carers, nursing staff, manager, and other members of staff gave my husband the best care possible, and myself and my family will be ever grateful to them for their care and attention given to my husband until he passed away.

Although the last year has been difficult I’m very pleased with how all the staff have still given their first-rate care and attention to my father. It’s obviously hard to give a complete review due to all the restrictions in place but during my window visits, I’ve been able to assess how well looked after dad is. Thank you to everyone.

My mother was admitted to Appleton Manor in March 2019, after her diagnosis of dementia. My partner and myself have always been made to feel very welcome by the friendly staff and manager. The home is very clean and well run, I am very satisfied that my mum receives the best of care. In these times of the pandemic, we have found the hygiene and security measures to be first class, and we are confident that my mother will not be exposed to the Coronavirus. Overall, there is no reason to worry about the standard of care at Appleton Manor, we rate it very highly.

My mum had been in a care home before her deterioration and was admitted to a nursing home at short notice. I then looked around at different nursing homes and transferred my mum into the nursing wing of Appleton Manor. The first person my mum met put her at ease, made her feel safe and helped her settle in. The room was immaculate and as it was quite large so we were able to bring a lot of my mum's possessions which made her feel at home. It also made it comfortable for the family to visit.
My mum needed quite intensive nursing care. She had a stroke several years ago and had gradually lost her speech and mobility. The manager and the carers showed kindness and empathy to my mum. The GP was very supportive, caring and approachable. Together they looked after my mum during her last weeks and I feel she was comfortable, safe in familiar surroundings, pain-free and nursed with love and kindness.

She died with dignity.

My mum-in-law was admitted to the home in May 2020 for Palliative Nursing Care. Sadly, but expected, she passed away on 16th July. The staff at Appleton Manor were angels with her. So caring, considerate and only ever showed her respect, and treated her with the dignity and compassion that she deserved.
I was fortunate to spend lots of time with her in her latter days, and I was looked after just as well as she was. They provided me with a comfy recliner chair to sleep and copious amounts of tea/coffee, and I could have any meal if I chose to. Eight incredible people..... All deserve a special mention, but all who dealt with her did so in a kind caring manner.

I thank you all for making her comfortable in her time with you, and I thank you for keeping me satisfied that she was being well looked after.

This is an excellent care home, my mum (mother-in -law) was a resident at the home for 2 years. They not only cared for her, they cared about her, and for that, we will be forever grateful. Mum was treated with dignity, respect, professionalism and friendliness.
Communication between the home and ourselves was excellent, we had peace and mind knowing mum was safe and was being looked after to a very high standard. All the staff was always there for us if we had any concerns, and we regarded them all as part of our family. The staff have had a lot to deal with at this very sad and uncertain time with the coronavirus, and are working very hard and managing to still do an excellent job, sending all our love and thanks to everyone.

Unfortunately, we lost Mum recently, and we would like to say a big thank you to the staff for sharing and helping us through mums last hours, and for that, we will be forever grateful to you all.

Mum has been at Appleton Manor since September 2019, and I have to say that the first time I walked through the door I felt welcomed and comfortable. After viewing many nursing homes, I just knew that this was the one for my mum. The building is clean, comfortable and bright, with lovely gardens. The staff are warm and friendly and very approachable. The communication between families and staff is so open, we’re updated on all GP visits, medication changes and everything else that is important to mum and us as a family. During the ‘lockdown’ it’s obviously been difficult not being able to go in and see mum, but we have regular ‘face time’ chats and keep up to date with everything. Even though mum is on a very restricted diet, I see the meals being given to other residents, and they look really good! We just know that she’s receiving the best possible care.

I have consistently been impressed by the care my father receives at Appleton Manor – all the more so at this challenging time. The Team have gone ‘beyond the call of duty’ to ensure that the residents are cared for and protected from Covid-19. Moreover, at a time when family cannot visit they are making strong efforts to maintain contact with us and provide updates. The wonderful cards, photos and thumbprint momentos which have been sent to family members have been touching. My dad is blind and virtually deaf but the staff have been able to play voice recordings to him, recordings I’ve sent to him which is a welcome stand of contact.
Full marks Appleton!

The absence of Covid-19 from the floor on which my dad is resident throughout the Pandemic (at least up to the point I'm submitting this review) speaks volumes!

I would just like to say a really big thank you to all and I mean ALL of the staff who are looking after my father-in-law. I cannot say how much I appreciate how you are tirelessly looking after him, along with all of the other residents. Every time I have been there, you have always been polite and professional in everything you do. How you manage this during these really troubling times is beyond me, but my respect and thanks go out to you all. Keep up the fantastic work you are ALL doing, keep safe and keep everyone you are looking after safe as well.

God Bless.

We as a family cannot thank all the staff for the hard work they are all doing since the outbreak of Coronavirus.
This is so hard not only for us but, especially for the residents who may not quite understand what’s going on and why aren’t the family coming to see us. The staff straight away set up video chats so we can see/speak to our loved one, even sending us pictures to show us their ok - what’s rewarding is when they send pictures of them smiling away; it’s so heartwarming.
All the staff have gone above and beyond to keep us in contact, letting us know what’s happening also within the care home.

We thank them from the bottom of our hearts. We will certainly be clapping for them every Thursday evening.

I have recently placed mum into the care of Appleton Manor Care Home. Having looked at several alternatives I was particularly impressed by the care there with all staff maintaining a high level of contact with the residents who were treated with dignity,

Strong leadership from management and seniors provide me with the confidence that mum will be well cared for. I am also impressed by the good level of feedback on a day to day issues.

We had to place our mum into care in January 2017 and chose Appleton Manor as they have a secure Dementia Unit on the 1st floor. We were very impressed on the tour we had and knew that our mum would be safe, secure and well cared for. There were a few issues in the first 12 months as the manager left followed by several senior members of the care team. They now have a very professional Manager in place and a great team of care staff who all appear to enjoy their roles within the home. The Activities Co-ordinator does an amazing job at keeping the residents entertained with a variety of entertainments within the home and with trips out in their minibus (weather permitting). There is a good variety of food each week which is nutritious, well cooked and most types of diet can be catered for. The whole place is spotlessly clean, well furnished, modern and comfortable. I'm happy that we chose Appleton Manor for my mum as she appears happy and is definitely well cared for. Well done Appleton Manor.

My mum has been a resident on the Dementia first floor at Appleton Manor for nearly two years. I felt I needed to express my sincere thanks to all the staff and management team for their genuine support and kindness to my mum. There is not one member of staff that I could not praise. Everyone is kind caring and will go the extra mile to support all the elderly living there.
There are always activities every day and everyone gets involved. The dining room is always dressed on special occasions, i.e. this month is Halloween. The dining room looks great. The activities officer does so well. Mum has been on many trips with her which I never thought my mum would have to chance to do again.
All staff are approachable and friendly. I love going to see Mum as I know she is always cared for and loved.

I would like to thank you all for all your support. You are my extended family.
