Since my mother has been at the home for 4 months now, every week she seems to be getting better, with her dementia. I put this down to the excellent carers, staff and management keeping Mum stimulated and well cared for, and seeing to all her needs. A big thank you.

My Gran was admitted to the care home in July which made me feel very sad, but in the short time she has been a resident I can see the improvement in her physical health. When I visit I am always made to feel welcome by the staff and I am always appreciative of the professionalism shown by all the staff, I love the way that every single member of staff knows my Gran's name and they always make a fuss of her.

Thank you xx

Recently my father in law and mother in law were taken into Appleton Manor. They were treated with compassion and respect for the short time my father in law lived there. My mother in law is still a resident and the care she is receiving is excellent. As a family, we are always made to feel welcome and we know that when we leave that my mother in law is going to be well looked after.

My mum has been a resident for twelve weeks and in that time she has been treated with a high degree of professionalism, dignity and respect. When we leave my Mum to go home we know we are leaving her in a kind and caring environment and it makes it so much easier.

On the whole mum is cared for well, however, I would like her up and dressed before lunch and not 3-4pm in the afternoon as has frequently happened.

She is put in bed at 6pm so the earlier she is up the better. Other than that she is cared for to a good standard.

My partner was a resident for just over 5 weeks and was very well cared for. Nothing was too much. She was kept well fed, medically looked after and following such good care was able to overcome her disability and was able to return home.

My sister has been a resident at the care home for a number of years and is happy and contented in general.
I feel that the levels of service are good and the standard of food would appear to be satisfactory. There does, however, appear to have been a large turnover in staff which I don't always feel gives confidence to the resident.

On a personal level, my sister did experience an attack on herself by another resident with injuries to her head and face. I was not particularly happy how this incident was handled, however, the staff vigilance does seem to have improved since.

My friend was admitted to the dementia unit of Appleton Manor in August 2016. The home was well organised with the staff working well together.
However, in June 2017 the manager left, followed in quick succession by the nurse, the dementia unit manager and several senior carers. This led to a slow decline in standards as agency replacements were brought in.

However, during the past months, vacancies have been filled by permanent staff and standards together with the general atmosphere in the home have dramatically improved.

Although my husband was only in Appleton Manor Care Home for 8 days, he received the best care possible. All members of staff treated him with kindness, compassion and respect. His needs were fully and effectively assessed which ensured his last few days were as comfortable and peaceful as possible, for which I and his family are profoundly grateful.

Staff are excellent, although sometimes a little busy with residents. The environment is excellent, with my mother's room being deep cleaned today, smelling very fresh. It would have been nice if the room had been painted prior to my mother being cared for. Unfortunately, there is always a smell of urine within the premises. My mother is always being well looked after, within difficult circumstances.

My mum has been a resident in Appleton Manor for nearly 4 years. She sadly passed away due to her Alzheimers two weeks ago, but the staff at A.M made her final weeks and days as comfortable as they could.

The care and compassion shown by all staff, not only to my mum but my dad, brother and myself when we visited was excellent. I cannot thank them enough and will always be grateful to them.

My mother has been a resident of Appleton Manor for approximately 3 years. In that time the care she has received has been excellent and as her condition worsened and her needs changed, the care has tailored to suit her needs. At the end, all the staff were very supportive in what was a very sad and stressful time for our family. I cannot thank all the staff enough for the care they provided for my mother, and it felt like they were part of our extended family.

Efficient, friendly, supportive, professional, understanding, compassionate, warm, accommodating are all of the words I would use to describe the staff from carers to admin to nursing staff. Every step of the way I was advised about my father's care.

Their concerns, medical decisions and general welfare were always discussed. Not once was I worried that my father was receiving anything other than 5-star service. I have and cannot thank everyone enough for everything they do to ensure my father's last weeks were comfortable.

I was dreading going to see my Aunt today, placed in Appleton Manor Care Home in an emergency whilst I was away.
All my worries removed in an instant.
I went unannounced and was welcomed by an extremely friendly and obliging manager.
My Aunt was the happiest she has been in a long time.
I was introduced to someone who I think is the manager of the second floor. A lovely person, on a day off, but took time out to assist me.

Finally, the all important small print. All my concerns were dealt with in a friendly and professional manner.

I think the care home has improved the last 9 months as all carers now, especially since the latest manager has taken over, are more on the ball and everything is more organised.

I found the care home to be first class. The main thing I was concerned about as any other person would be having to put someone in care, was the actual care. I found the staff very approachable and my father received excellent care. Sadly my father is no longer with us having passed away in December. The care home accommodated three of the family while my father was in his last days. They couldn't have treated my father any better than they did. Nothing was too much trouble for them or for us. I would highly recommend this home.

My husband and I have been married 64 years and it was so hard to accept he needed permanent professional care. He has resided at Appleton just over 12 months and I cannot praise the management and staff enough for the loving care he has received there. I have peace of mind knowing he is safe, well looked after and is content in what I am sure, he now realises is his home. I would not hesitate to recommend this care home to anyone.
