Arbour Court is a modern home set in beautifully landscaped gardens situated on the edge of Marple on the Cheshire and Derbyshire border.

The facility provides first-class 24 hour nursing and expert care for people with dementia in their Memory Lane Community and also offer a brand new premier facility known as The Ashwood Suite with larger, more luxurious rooms.

A team of highly-qualified and attentive staff focus on the individual needs of residents with a tailored care plan for each person and craft varied activity schedules to meet everyone's personal interests.

My father fell seriously ill some time ago and though staff in the hospital were kind and caring the way hospitals work meant he was moved around a lot growing confused and weak. Finally he was found to be too ill to return home but not able to benefit fro. further time on a ward. Thank goodness for
Arbour Court. From his first day, over a year ago, he has known nothing but kindness, compassion and respect. His room is wonderfully personal and the whole place is well equipped to meet a range of needs. The food is fresh and the menu varied. It is not "home" but it is as close as we could wish. We are always made welcome and we have no doubt that this will continue.

My husband is walking for England, when he first went in the home but the staff made sure he ate food walking about in there. They have always been wonderful people to look after him and keep him going. Unforunately because he fell over when walking he has now been in bed for 3 1/2 years because his
body has deteriorated but unfortunately this is what happens in life. The new doctor who came to the practice 2 3/4 years ago is wonderful and comes to the care home to see all the residents individually.

Unfortunately your husband did have a fall and with advanced dementia sometimes a fall can further accelerate the condition but with the staff here and your loving care and regular visits he is having the best possible care and attention anyone could wish for.

I haven't rated all option categories excellent solely due to the financial constraints Arbour Court have to work within, I'm in no doubt with sufficient resources staff and management would ensure all residents receive excellent care 24/7 365 days a year with excellent facilities and activities. I'm
very impressed by the obvious dedication and commitment of staff and management to provide the highest level of care they can and how warm, welcoming and inclusive they are with residents and relatives. I'm confident my Dad is in the best possible, affordable alternative to his own home his condition necessitates. He settled in quickly, appears comfortable and content when we visit 2/3 times a week, hasn't once mentioned 'going home' or attempted to leave with us in the 4 months he's lived there.

I have worked for the NHS and Care Home sector for almost 12 years as a Registered General Nurse, Nurse Manager, Deputy Manager and Clinical Lead.


The Care Home sector for me is the most rewarding and satisfying and I feel it’s where I belong and thebe.


I appreciate being a part of the dementia journey not only caring for the residents but also getting to know the families, working alongside the staff to make a positive difference in people’s lives and ensuring that those live as comfortably as possible within our home.
