My husband has been in lynmere for the past 9 months until he passed away. He was very well cared for by the nurses and care workers. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Always greeted with a smile when you arrived and given a cup of tea or coffee. The staff were always available to give support
to us when we needed it. Food also very good and staff helped to feed him when he required it. I would not hesitate recommending this home.

My mum has been at Lynmere for just over three years. She had been in hospital and at home alone for a couple of years before that ; I feel very lucky that Stockport care were able to find her a place at a human-sized care home.
Mum is a very private person, but the team at Lynmere manage to get her
to smile. They set up activities including music, exercises, and pampering, which gives her a bit of contact.
Mum is not able to interact much, but she has been happy all this time, and I don't think she or her family would have wanted anything more.
Thank you to the managers, nurses, carers, catering staff, clearners and all the team for doing such an important and professional job.

We have been delighted with the standard of care provided by Lynmere Nursing Home. The staff work as a team and provide excellent care towards the residents. As a family, they keep us very well informed and we feel that our relative receives the best standard of care here. We would highly recommend
the home and are pleased to know that our relative is happy and in safe and caring hands.

After checking through many Care/Nursing homes in the area we decided that Lynmere Nursing Home would be the most suitable for our mother. We have noted the very high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the home. Particularly impressed that there were no unpleasant odours. Over the months
that my mother has been there if there was one single thing that has stood out, it is the nursing and support staff. The care provided whether that was feeding, changing, bathing, nursing everything was performed with patience, good humour and respect for my mother. It was quite evident that all the staff worked as a team and helped one another to support the patients. Very impressed and quite relieved to find such a Nursing Home.

My aunt stayed at Lynmere Nursing Home following a three-month spell in hospital and after a stroke. After eight months in the home, she was able to return home and that improvement in her health was largely due to the care she received at Lynmere. She was cared for with great attention and kindness.
Her husband who visited frequently was treated with enormous respect and welcomed into the life of the home. The manager was always available to the family and generous in her responses. I am so very grateful for the experience she had of this loving environment. Thank you.

My mum stayed here for 8 months. The staff are kind and genuine providing top quality care. Nothing is too much trouble and they always smiling. The qualified nurses are very professional and always act on problems that occur. I am a nurse myself so am aware of what good quality care is and this home
provides it. The carers are always attentive and had good banter and humour with my mum. Her 96th birthday was extra special. The singer who comes every week made it so special and memorable I will always have those happy memories. Thank you all, what a lovely team.

My mother has been at Lynmere for seventeen weeks now, and I cannot fault the level of care she has been given. The staff are brilliant, and nothing is too much trouble. Her previous care at a care home in Bramhall was nowhere near as good.

Lynmere Nursing Home is way out ahead of every care home we have encountered with our various family members over recent years. Now it is the turn of my precious sister-in-law - and, with complex needs, she is being cared for with exemplary gentleness, understanding and a sense of humour and fun which
we all adore. The care extends to everyone who enters their doors - a welcoming smile, a mug of tea and a supportive chat are available to all. My brother visits his wife for long hours daily, and is "part of the furniture" and much loved too. It's an understated single-storey building, not in any way posh, but it has so many far more important features than that - cosy rooms, exemplary cleanliness, a friendly community feel, all the facilities they need, astonishingly good food, and all the staff are absolutely lovely people. A gem.

The care in Lynmere was exemplary. My husband was always so comfortable whenever I went which was often twice a day. The staff cared and were there for me when I needed support as well as caring for my husband. It isn't posh but small and cosy, with no long corridors or tucked-away rooms. I would have
no hesitation in recommending this nursing home.

Would just like to say a massive thank you for the care my mum has received in Lynmere. The staff are so caring and friendly, mum has a few complicated issues and Lynmere was the only care home who could deal with her issues. I always feel welcome when I visit and I am always informed of mum's health.
Keep up the good work guys.

My Mum has been at Lynmere since April this year (2022). As a family we had kept mum in her own home for as long as possible, but due to very advanced Alzheimers which resulted in a hospital admission, we knew that the time was right to seek 24 hr care residentially. Placing a loved one into someone
else’s care is always a worry, but Lynmere has completely alleviated any worries and concerns we may have had. I cannot fault the care received, the feedback and contact we receive as the family and the pleasant and professional nature of all the staff we encounter daily - nothing is too much trouble. All decisions concerning mums care are still made by us with the help of the carers/ nurses and doctors involved. Mum is always clean, fed and comfortable. The home is very open and transparent with mums care records which in itself is very comforting. The food is tasty and made specifically to the patient’s requirements depending on their condition.
I would recommend Lynmere 100%.

This is the 2nd review I have added.
Our mum has been a resident since April 2020.
My latest comments relate overall, but in particular, following a recent chest infection mum acquired around three weeks ago. The staff nurses in particular, but the care afforded by the wider team, manager, and their
close liaison with own GP, and the out-of-hours GP has got mum well again, and thankfully avoided a stay in hospital. We are delighted.
Mum has extensive wider care needs, and for anyone as such, I couldn't speak highly enough of the care the team all provide. It has been excellent throughout her 2+ year stay, covering a very testing period for care homes, but heightened during her recent illness.

Our dad arrived at Lynmere as a temporary resident in February as we were awaiting a permanent placement closer to our home. The manageress was excellent and so caring. She and her staff made us feel so content that dad was being cared for so well. Immediately they took time to find out all about dad
and got him out of bed into a safe chair instead of leaving him in his room 24/7 as he had been at his assessment placement. There was music each weekend from a visiting piano player which was wonderful to see how the residents enjoyed it. The Manageress and her staff were always happy to answer the phone and accommodate visits without any hassle. Everyone was friendly and knew the residents. As it is a small, purpose-built care home it is all on one level and the rooms are close to the office and recreation room.
It is an excellent home and we advise anyone looking for a good, small, caring home to contact Lynmere as we were so happy with it.

I cannot recommend this care home and its staff highly enough. They cared for our 102-year-old mother for 12months with great care and compassion. It is a small professional caring nursing home with very high standards. After visiting several nursing homes it was obvious that this one stood out amongst
them all. All the staff from the manager downwards were very helpful and friendly. The chefs went out of their way to provide suitable meals. When our mother had visitors from Germany freshly baked cakes and tea and coffee were provided on three different occasions. They were always available to help with the family's concerns as well as nursing our mother with great dignity and respect. From the first day, we felt we had made the correct choice and our opinion never changed in the twelve months. Truly an example of a really professionally run nursing home which was always immaculately clean, welcoming professional and caring.

I was extremely lucky to find a bed for my husband at Lynmere. This nursing home should be the model for all nursing homes. There are only 24 residents, and having spent at least 5 hours each day by my husband side, I could witness the tremendous work all the staff do on a daily basis to ensure patients’
well-being, safety, and most importantly dignity. Never once have I felt that my husband wasn’t cared for with respect. The carers and nursing staffs work their socks off to care for the patients. The chef and her assistant prepare individual meals for the residents, most of whom have complex dietary requirements. This is a 24-hour nursing home with staff on site at all times, and you can visit your loved one anytime 24/7.

As my husband was sadly terminally ill, an end-of-life care plan was put in place so the staff would knew what to do in his last days. I was at my husband side when he passed away, with the nursing staff alongside me to provide support.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.814)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.814) out of 10 for Lynmere Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.914 for Lynmere Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (97 Excellents x 5) + (7 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 105 Ratings = 4.914
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.9 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Lynmere Nursing Home is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 24 registered maximum number of service users is 4.8, which has been reached with 9 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
