Hilltop Court Care Home

All in all very disappointing

I dont know about the food i dont eat it so i cant comment .And hallelujah they have a proper entertainments officer i used to despair at the way residents were just sat slumped in a chair staring at the wall at least now some one is trying to and is motivating the residents .

My mother-in-law has been in hilltop around 2years now. We seen it change management from when she first arrived to now & management now is brilliant. Home is always clean & smelling fresh. Activities done by activity manager are amazing, especially the animal therapy. Keep up the great work!!

My Mum has been a resident at Hilltop for six years, she can be quite challenging but the staff are very calm and patient with her and she is as settled as she can be with dementia. Recently there has been some lovely celebrations eg Christmas and Valentine's Day with singers and a pianist which my Mum enjoyed and it was lovely to meet other relatives and have a chat. The staff are very supportive and I know I can always talk to them if I have concerns about my Mum's care.

I visit my friend regularly at hilltop, I must say it has massively improved atmosphere wise. Louise is great bringing life to the home, she is always doing activities with residents and she has done more since she has been here than I've ever seen over the years. Some staff you can tell treat there residents like family and you can see the love and care towards the people they are looking after. Some stuff don't seem to care though by doing the bare minimum and they force a smile. The manager is better then previous ones the home has had although I feel like she never comes out the office, Daniel the admin is very welcoming and always has a smile which is lovely to see. Food is good but sometimes comes out cold. The home is clean, but sometimes does need to be kept on top of. Over all I am happy with hilltop but it could do with some minor improvements.

The only problem I have is with the laundry as my dad has had so many of his clothes either ruined or gone missing. These items of clothes are not cheep and this has really upset my mum . We have raised this issue but nothing has been done I have asked for his jumper's NOT to be washed by them as we as a family will take them home and wash them properly

Most of the staff work to high standard; however, on occasion, certain members of staff have not delivered satisfactory care towards my husband. I have had to put complaints in.

My husband has been living in Hilltop Court Care Home for almost 3 years. I have always been satisfied with the care he has received. There has been a lot of changes over the years, some staff have left and new staff starting but he is quite content. His room is always clean, in fact, the cleaning is very good all over the home. I do think they should get more stimulation, but they are trying to do this. The staff always make a fuss on birthdays, etc.

A sign needed in reception to remind all visitors they need to sign in/out. This is a legal requirement.

This was my first visit to see my aunt, who has recently moved to the home. When I arrived, the gentleman (admin) at the door was warm and polite, and safety welcomed us in. I was happy to see that my aunt was comfortable, clean, and content, sitting in the living room, cuddling a baby doll (very cute). Overall, I was impressed with the environment, the staff, and the quality of care. Thank you sincerely for all you do.

I was very impressed with the overall experience here, but especially with the high standard of care given by the staff to the residents, delivered with care and compassion.

To all the medical staff, carers, laundry ladies, cleaners, office staff, managers and kitchen workers my family and I would like to say a big thank you. I'll never forget our 65th wedding anniversary and my birthday (same day). They made it so memorable. My husband died two days later.

The staff are second to none. They seem to really care about their residents and nothing is too much trouble. Mum likes her room, the food and all the care givers. I feel she is safe and well cared for. I would recommend Hilltop Court.

Our friend was happy and clean, and the staff engaged with him and other residents. Everyone seemed well cared for, and visitors were made welcome.

It would be nice to see some upgrades to the areas that I visit, ie: decorating and some upgrades to the bathrooms/toilets, there are some jobs/work to be done on the outside (repair of windows, it is cheaper to repair the replace). The staff are fantastic, but it would be helpful if they wore name badges which would be great as one could address them by their name in a professional manner. The staff do a great job under difficult situations and circumstances.

Hilltop Court is always inviting to visitors and they strive to deliver a varied activity programme for the residents. I highly recommend the home to others.

Our friend is certainly very happy here although we do find the monthly invoices a bit high.

Dad seems very settled at Hilltop Court and has been since the very first week. The only request I have is that Dad gets a little outing every now and again. He went to the pub with the other residents proper to Christmas which was great so anything like that would be wonderful.

We are pleased my wife is safe and looked after well. She is the same the last few weeks but moves around the ward well. Some days she is unsettled and then the next time we come she is quite calm.

My husband has spent the last seven weeks at Hilltop Court. He had been very unwell and had already been in hospital for 11 weeks. The management and staff were exceptional. Every one of his needs was met with kindness and efficiency and lots of humour and fun. Nothing was too much trouble. I transferred him to a nursing home nearer to my home with a heavy heart. (Thank you, Hilltop Court, for everything).
