When it became apparent that mum needed the skills & support of a residential care home, my sisters and I spent many months sourcing the right place for her. This we thought we had achieved. However, after less than a year, and a short hospital admission, it was decided that her needs could no longer be met there. We were devastated at the thought of having to start this depressing search again. Then the hospital suggested Lynmere, and we could not have been happier with this lovely home. At our first visit, we were in immediate agreement that we had walked into the right place. Mum was only in residence for four months before she finally, and peacefully, let go of her hold on life. During this time, Tess and her team welcomed us all into their 'family' and made sure that mum was treated with respect; dignity, and loved beyond all we could have hoped for. We were always met with a smile and loving humour, as staff related the latest anecdote in mum's unique world. We are very grateful.
I write as the grateful son of a late resident, but also as a visiting care-home GP for two decades.
Mum moved to Lynmere in May 2020 after a stroke during the first Covid wave. What was meant to be a temporary stay soon became her home, the place we trusted most for her care.
Throughout 6 years, including the challenges of the pandemic, the home demonstrated professionalism, compassion & strong leadership. Manager Tess leads with clarity, warmth and very high standards, & communication with families and visiting GP has always been excellent. She is decisive & transparent.Vital qualities.
The nurses and carers are truly exceptional-skilled, patient and deeply kind.Mum was always comfortable, safe and treated with dignity until her passing.
Lynmere is humble, clean, well organised and thoughtfully run, but what truly sets it apart is the humanity of the staff. Our family remains profoundly grateful for the care & respect shown to mum throughout her time there. A truly special place.
I cannot speak highly enough of their efforts and will always be grateful for what they did to make my mum's experience at Lynmere a happy one.
My mum was here for 13 months untill she passed away in January and I relay couldn't of put her in a nicer place .mum had a few complex needs one being blind but a specific member of staff and the staff were all amazing nothing was ever too much trouble for them even when she was being a bit awkward lol .we were always greeted with a smile when we visited which was twice A day most days .and always offered a cup of tea .what I liked most was mum was made to feel like a family member to them not just a number we were also made to feel like part of the family too .which meant alot to us .I would recommend lynmere to everyone.i miss seeing the staff at lynmere as we became friends I often pass and think of everyone and was told I was welcome to call and say hi which one day I will but at the moment is too upsetting for me .
My husband has been in lynmere for the past 9 months until he passed away. He was very well cared for by the nurses and care workers. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Always greeted with a smile when you arrived and given a cup of tea or coffee. The staff were always available to give support to us when we needed it. Food also very good and staff helped to feed him when he required it. I would not hesitate recommending this home.
Excellent care made my uncle very comfortable respecting all his wishes , lovely carers nurses and manager kitchen staff domestics all very kind hearted , outstanding care given to residents, made the 6 months of his time there until he passed and everything is as a family could wish or ask for ! Would highly recommend Lynmere nursing home , very clean food outstanding, and there not just carers nurses or manager they become a family towards me and my uncle , thank you so much for everything
Mum is a very private person, but the team at Lynmere manage to get her to smile. They set up activities including music, exercises, and pampering, which gives her a bit of contact.
Mum is not able to interact much, but she has been happy all this time, and I don't think she or her family would have wanted anything more.
Thank you to the managers, nurses, carers, catering staff, clearners and all the team for doing such an important and professional job.
We have been delighted with the standard of care provided by Lynmere Nursing Home. The staff work as a team and provide excellent care towards the residents. As a family, they keep us very well informed and we feel that our relative receives the best standard of care here. We would highly recommend the home and are pleased to know that our relative is happy and in safe and caring hands.
After checking through many Care/Nursing homes in the area we decided that Lynmere Nursing Home would be the most suitable for our mother. We have noted the very high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the home. Particularly impressed that there were no unpleasant odours. Over the months that my mother has been there if there was one single thing that has stood out, it is the nursing and support staff. The care provided whether that was feeding, changing, bathing, nursing everything was performed with patience, good humour and respect for my mother. It was quite evident that all the staff worked as a team and helped one another to support the patients. Very impressed and quite relieved to find such a Nursing Home.
My aunt stayed at Lynmere Nursing Home following a three-month spell in hospital and after a stroke. After eight months in the home, she was able to return home and that improvement in her health was largely due to the care she received at Lynmere. She was cared for with great attention and kindness. Her husband who visited frequently was treated with enormous respect and welcomed into the life of the home. The manager was always available to the family and generous in her responses. I am so very grateful for the experience she had of this loving environment. Thank you.
My mum stayed here for 8 months. The staff are kind and genuine providing top quality care. Nothing is too much trouble and they always smiling. The qualified nurses are very professional and always act on problems that occur. I am a nurse myself so am aware of what good quality care is and this home provides it. The carers are always attentive and had good banter and humour with my mum. Her 96th birthday was extra special. The singer who comes every week made it so special and memorable I will always have those happy memories. Thank you all, what a lovely team.
My mother has been at Lynmere for seventeen weeks now, and I cannot fault the level of care she has been given. The staff are brilliant, and nothing is too much trouble. Her previous care at a care home in Bramhall was nowhere near as good.
Lynmere Nursing Home is way out ahead of every care home we have encountered with our various family members over recent years. Now it is the turn of my precious sister-in-law - and, with complex needs, she is being cared for with exemplary gentleness, understanding and a sense of humour and fun which we all adore. The care extends to everyone who enters their doors - a welcoming smile, a mug of tea and a supportive chat are available to all. My brother visits his wife for long hours daily, and is "part of the furniture" and much loved too. It's an understated single-storey building, not in any way posh, but it has so many far more important features than that - cosy rooms, exemplary cleanliness, a friendly community feel, all the facilities they need, astonishingly good food, and all the staff are absolutely lovely people. A gem.
The care in Lynmere was exemplary. My husband was always so comfortable whenever I went which was often twice a day. The staff cared and were there for me when I needed support as well as caring for my husband. It isn't posh but small and cosy, with no long corridors or tucked-away rooms. I would have no hesitation in recommending this nursing home.
I'd like to say thank you to all the staff at Lynmere Nursing Home for the care you all gave to my uncle in his final weeks. He was well looked after and very comfortable and for making the family feel welcome when visiting. Thank you all so much.
My family and I will be forever in the debt of the wonderful management and staff whose considerate and highly professional care made my wife's last months here as comfortable and peaceful as it could possibly have been. Five stars are not enough.
Would just like to say a massive thank you for the care my mum has received in Lynmere. The staff are so caring and friendly, mum has a few complicated issues and Lynmere was the only care home who could deal with her issues. I always feel welcome when I visit and I am always informed of mum's health. Keep up the good work guys.
I would recommend Lynmere 100%.
Our mum has been a resident since April 2020.
My latest comments relate overall, but in particular, following a recent chest infection mum acquired around three weeks ago. The staff nurses in particular, but the care afforded by the wider team, manager, and their close liaison with own GP, and the out-of-hours GP has got mum well again, and thankfully avoided a stay in hospital. We are delighted.
Mum has extensive wider care needs, and for anyone as such, I couldn't speak highly enough of the care the team all provide. It has been excellent throughout her 2+ year stay, covering a very testing period for care homes, but heightened during her recent illness.
It is an excellent home and we advise anyone looking for a good, small, caring home to contact Lynmere as we were so happy with it.
