When visiting my mother in Guide Lane Care Home I have always been treated with courtesy and respect. The staff keep me informed of my mothers condition. My mother (although suffering from dementia) is not aware of her surroundings but is contented, clean and well looked after.

I've found the home lovely and friendly . My mum is being looked after and seems happy. There a very good smell to the home, and the food seems okay.

My mother-in-law has just celebrated her 95th birthday. She has been a resident of Guide Lane Care Home for several years and, on this occasion, the manager and staff said that they would be pleased to hold a birthday party, here at the home. They provided all the refreshments and (oh joy of joys!!) included in the arrangements, was "a singer".

The family provided a birthday cake and, most generously we thought, Guide Lane gave us all the most beautiful afternoon. The whole place sang, danced and had a very happy, memorable afternoon. We cannot thank the entire staff enough. It is a warm, wonderful place staffed by kind, thoughtful people (and we thought this even before we had the party!).

Having had a previous extremely poor experience of a nursing home, this place could not be more different. All the staff I meet are open and friendly and show a very caring manner to the residents. My parent can be quite confused but any comments made are dealt with calmly and staff show a clear understanding of the needs. They are also very helpful on advising if additional clothes or support are required. My parent needs full mobility care and yet dignity is considered always.
Essentially, this is a wonderful place and has greatly eased any guilt I may have felt on using a home for my parent's care :)

I could go on.. but it's all very positive!

Since my wife developed vascular dementia in Oct 2015 I was at my wits end. Then a breath of fresh air came into my life by the way of the care home at Guide Lane, the care she has received is next to none, the staff are the best and keep you up to date about everything. If I had to go in a home Guide Lane Care Home would do for me.

First looked at the home online to see how good the government figures were. Having been impressed by those me and my father came for a visit to the home, after being shown round by the lovely manageress, deciding this was the home for my mum. It was the correct decision and we have been suitably impressed since. This is the only home we looked at it's fantastic and the staff are amazing so caring and friendly.

My mother lived at Guide Lane Care Home for approximately four years until her death in May this year.

During this time Mum was cared for in a compassionate, friendly and professional manner and our family and friends who visited her as often as possible were always impressed with the caring yet relaxed atmosphere of the home and we were always pleased to see Mum looking happy, tidy and well-dressed.

Sadly, Mum died in May, aged 95, but thankfully passed away in her own room in comfort and with great dignity.

We cannot thank all the staff enough for their kindness and patience and for the way they looked after Mum with a ready smile and cared for her in friendship as as well as professionalism.
