This place then became mums home until her recent passing . In the years she has been there she has been so well looked after and cared for and her needs were always noted and respected . The staff are phenomenal , caring , loving , respectful and made us as a family feel like we became part of the Thorncliffe family along with mum . We could not have hoped for a better home for mum in her last four years plus on her dementia journey . We are so grateful to the team and the love shown to us all .
My mother-in-law has been in Thorncliffe Grange for a month and as a family, it was the best decision we could have made. The care being provided at home was not enough and she was suffering with Stage 4 pressure sores on her back due to a stroke in February which had left her bed bound. She has had such good care from the staff since that her pressure sores are starting to improve as she is now getting the care she needs. The team at Thorncliffe Grane are all friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is always calm and relaxed when we visit which makes it a really nice environment and a more pleasant experience for everyone. My mother-in-law can't get out of bed so she isn't involved in any of the activities but staff going in and chat to her, do her hair and nails. I think the way this home is run is testament to Sarah, the care home manager, who went over and above to help us with what was a really difficult situation transitioning my mother-in-law into a nursing home.
Oh what a lovely review and really thank you so much for taking the time to write it, i will be honest when you visited Thorncliffe Grange to look around as a tentative enquiry and told me of the situation with Mother in law my heart completely went out to you both and to Mother in law suffering...
What sets Thorncliffe Grange apart is their long-serving, dedicated staff across all departments. The continuity of care proved valuable as my dad had lost his sight and the familiar voices of his carers provided him comfort and reassurance. Every single person treated him with extraordinary dignity & respect.
The staff didn't just provide care; they became our friends, sharing laughs and creating a genuine family atmosphere. Their approach to care was consistently outstanding and they went above and beyond to ensure my dad's comfort and well-being.
If you're seeking exceptional care for your loved one in a warm, professional, and dignified environment, Thorncliffe Grange should be at the top of your list. The level of attention and genuine care they provide is truly remarkable.
Thank you so very much Lisa for such a lovely review-please accept my apologies for the delay in replying to it (you know what it's like here!) you, your Mum, your Dad, your brother and sister in law so clearly devoted to each other and made our job so much more pleasurable! from the dragon mum to...
When my brother had to leave hospital for nursing care, I had two recommendations about Thorncliffe Grange, one from a nurse whose Grandmother was looked after there before her passing and another from a care worker who had placed many people in there over many years. Both said although the home itself looked 'tired' the care provided by the staff was second to none. I visited the home on spec' and from the moment I was welcomed through the door I felt the warmth of feeling from all the staff. Just listening to the conversations between the staff and the residents was so comforting, they were singing together, laughing and joking. After my brother moved in, I found this to be exactly the same across all staff, not just the management but the cleaners, the maintenance staff, the doctors, the nurses and of course the hands-on carers. I cannot speak highly enough of all the staff, they were brilliant. If care is what you want either nursing or residential, this home is the best!
Thank you so much G for your lovely review, we know how precious your brother was/is to you and your family - you all did him proud with your dedication and advocating on his behalf. It was our pleasure to support you all caring for him - a very gentile man. I try my best to employ caring,...
My dad came here for palliative care, have to say the team are amazing. The support given during a terrible time for us as a family was just great. My dad loved being here and was cared for so much, shout out to two staff member in particular for their compassion and expertise. We are forever grateful.
Thank you so very much for choosing us for your lovely dad, a true gentleman in every sense! From the minute he arrived, he showed us his sense of humour and was always so very gracious about everything. I am just so glad he got to live near you in his final weeks to spend his time with you his loving son. Take care of yourself.
Thorncliffe may not be the most aesthetically pleasing but the care and compassion are unbeatable they genuinely care and go above and beyond.
Thank you so very much for your lovely review and I do hope you and the rest of the family are coping after your tireless visits and love for your mum. Your mum was an absolute pleasure to care for, our passion is very much for the care of our residents and actually since Mum was here the home has...
I have no worries leaving my mother at Thorncliffe Grange, the management are really caring on the ball and it shows how the staff interact with the residents. My mother arrived the 2nd of February and she has settled in lovely. Thorncliffe was recommended to us by a social worker and it was the best thing we did for Mum. It was our mum's 90th birthday last week and I have to say they did a fantastic job. They put a buffet on and a beautiful cake with 90th candles. They made it really special for Mum and for us.
Ahh thank you very much for your lovely words and thanks for looking after your lovely Mum and I will certainly pass on to the staff member who took care of the food that day, we are very fortunate to have such lovely family members of our lovely residents and it is very much appreciated that you have taken the time to write a review. Thank you again, Manager and all the team at the home.
The staff at Thorncliffe are all amazing people, the residents were the focus of everything they did and their interaction with my family when visiting was more than we could ask for with staff always available to answer questions on health and more practical matters.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Thorncliffe Grange, it really is a home for the residents.
Thank you so very much for your lovely review it really does mean an awful lot to my team to hear and read comments like yours, as you know from being here the staff do work really hard in circumstances a lot of people could not cope with and it makes me very proud of the whole of the staff. Your...
The experience we have had at the nursing home is amazing. The care for my uncle was great, the nurses and managers were always lovely when we visited, this home doesn't just look after the patients they take care of the family as well. There was someone always around when you needed them. My uncle was very comfortable here and very safe. They always called if he was ill or seeing the GP they kept us up to date all the time. Would recommend this nursing home to families, it is amazing.
I will pass your very kind comments on to all the staff - thank you!
I couldn't have wished for my Mum to be better looked after during the last six months of her life. All the staff at Thorncliffe Grange are absolutely amazing, she was so well taken care of and they also made us feel so welcome when we went to visit. She always seemed so happy to be living there and would refer to the carers as her 'little friends'. Thank you to everyone for all your hard work and support.
The 'little friends' brought a lump to my throat-how diddy Mum was. Your Mum was an absolute pleasure to have with us, and you both were always so lovely and understanding during visits. You must bring in the wedding pictures of your beautiful daughter when the big day has been. Your Mum was...
I was first put in touch with this place via our adult social services rep, the manager of the care home came to the house to meet my wife and to gain a better understanding of her needs. I must say she was absolutely outstanding and within minutes of meeting her and seeing how she interacted with my wife put me at ease, it was only then I believed that I was making the right decision. We then were given a day to attend with both myself and my wife to meet and greet the staff, they were all adorable and so genuine and heartwarming. Then I knew it was the right decision for both my wife's happiness and my well-being. Within a few days my wife was laughing and engaging with the staff. I honestly want to say that we both feel like part of the Thorncliffe Grange family, they are true heroes in our journey and have helped me and will continue to support us for the remainder of our journey, much love to them all.
Aww thank you so much for your very kind words which I will of course be sharing with the staff. You have done such an amazing job of looking after your wife solely at home it has then made the transition to us much easier knowing how much she is loved and cherished. We all know what a difficult...
We first contacted the manager at Thorncliffe Grange in February 22, and the first thing she said was, don't judge us from the outside, and she was absolutely right. The staff are amazing and unbelievably caring, so much so that they feel like family. The residents are so well looked after. They are always clean, well-fed and warm. The care our family member got was second to none; even in her last moments, they went beyond their duty. Thank you to everyone.
Thanks so much for taking the time to write this review on behalf of all of us at the home. Your Mum was an absolute pleasure to care for, and for us to have lovely, supportive families means the world to us as we know you have to impart your trust in us to care for your loved one, which is not an...
My dad has been here a few months now and he is like a different person after a lengthy hospital stay. He is well looked after by the staff here, who are always pleasant and helpful whenever I visit, they look after him extremely well. He is always clean and warm and has a smile on his face too. The management team are so helpful and provide support to us relatives as much as they do the residents and have been great with helping my disabled mum when she visits. Thank you so much to the lovely staff at Thorncliffe Grange, I definitely recommend this place.
Thank you so much Wendy for the lovely review, that is so kind of you to say and this means such a lot to myself, Michelle and all the staff team here. It really is very important to us that families feel supported too, especially when you as a family have 2 family members to care for. Many thanks once again. Sarah and Michelle on behalf of all at Thorncliffe Grange.
The deterioration in my mum’s health, as well as the final days of my mum’s life, were handled with great dignity and respect. The staff were always easy to speak to and accommodating with our wishes. The home and it’s staff worked tirelessly during the pandemic to keep residents as safe as they could. I would definitely recommend this care home to other people.
Thank you so much Adrian for taking the time to write this-it really does mean a lot to us as staff and to offer the reassurance to those that haven't been able to be involved in our home. It has been a pleasure to care for your lovely Mum and her lovely smile will always be remembered-a very true lady. Thank you again
The staff were always approachable and gave great advice which helped my family deal with the stress of my mother's illness. The care exhibited by the staff was exemplary and went beyond the call of duty at times.
The recent crisis has proved to me that nothing is left to chance with a complete lockdown implemented before the UK government's instructions.
Thank you, Des, for taking the time to write this review especially at this time - your Mum was certainly part of our family and yourself too (I'm missing your alarm for nearly hometime!). Our hearts go out to you to lose Mum during such difficult times and yes I totally agree that our Director did...
We have not got to know you all properly yet as my father-in-law was only in your care a week before the Covid-19 lockdown.
In the week we were allowed to come and visit we were delighted with the care you were giving my father-in-law, you had him up out of bed and sat in the dayroom. This was the first time in 2 months he had been out of bed. We have been delighted with the communication via messages, Whatsapp and FaceTime in these difficult times, we all know how busy you must be, and the hard work. We think you are all doing an amazing job of looking after our loved ones.
We are all looking forward to getting to know you all more as with what we have seen of you all we are very pleased. Thank you so much.
From all at Thorncliffe Grange, thank you.
All the staff are brilliant in every way. The care and understanding of my mum is excellent. Mum has been a resident for almost 4 years and we have always been made welcome. I feel very comfortable asking any staff if I need to enquire about anything. Always finding everyone very helpful with good advice. I don't have any concerns as I know Mum is looked after extremely well and we are kept informed and updated regularly. Thanks to you all.
From all of us at Thorncliffe Grange, thank you.
I cannot praise the staff enough at Thorncliffe. Thanks to their care, compassion and dedication, especially through these unprecedented times with Covid-19. My father has been a resident for just over 12 months and settled into the home brilliantly. Before arriving at Thorncliffe, he spent 6 weeks in hospital recovering from a hip fracture and was discharged with substantial weight loss and at the point of giving up. Within 3 months of living at Thorncliffe, my father bounced back to his happy self and regained the weight he’d lost. I believe my father wouldn’t be with us now without the amazing care given to him at Thorncliffe. The manager liaised with external agencies and couldn’t do enough to ensure my father received the best possible care, for which I am eternally grateful. It is an absolute privilege to be a part of the Thorncliffe family. Thank you!
From all at Thorncliffe Grange, thank you.
The management and staff have been so wonderful through the 2020 pandemic. They have kept our family informed every step of the way. It has been so tough on all of us not being able to visit our loved ones, but Thorncliffe has been magnificent throughout.
I fully recommend this home. The time and care, taken by the staff making all the residents happy and entertained are just beyond words.
Thank you from us all at Thorncliffe x
Couldn't praise the staff and care at Thorncliffe enough. Their care is 1st class. Their compassion is unmatchable. During these difficult unprecedented times, they have gone above and beyond, setting up technology and time, to stay in touch with all the families. We have pictures and video calls and updates. They have remained virus-free and have impeccable plans in place ready for if the worse happens. They go beyond just 'their jobs' to keep the residents not only healthy and well but also happy, entertained and safe.
Thank you so much, Elizabeth for your lovely review, it really does mean such a lot to read such positive comments and sharing this with the public. On behalf of us, all at Thorncliffe Grange THANK YOU.
