Fantastic staff who are brilliant with my Mum who has dementia and has been there for 8-years. They are very supportive too us relatives. Even though mum can’t talk now, they still talk to her. Great at keeping us all up to date with what’s happening especially, during covid.
Thank you so much, Jill, for taking the time to write this review, it really does mean a lot to us and of course, your Mum is very precious to us all after having the pleasure of caring for her for so long. On behalf of all the staff at Thorncliffe Grange THANK YOU X
I have been visiting my elderly next-door neighbour for about 5-years, and in all that time, cannot fault the care she has received. She went there after being discharged from a hospice and was cared for and loved back to life. She has been very happy there, the carers treat the residents like their own, and the manager is second to none; knows and understands those in her care. The residents are kept clean all the time, and there has never been a smell in the home. I find Thorncliffe Grange highly recommendable.
Thank you, Julie, for taking the time to write such a lovely review, it really does mean a lot to us that you appreciate the care we give to our/your precious ones. On behalf of us all at Thorncliffe Grange-thank you x
I would highly recommend this nursing home to anyone needing a loving and caring environment for a family member
Thank you so very much, Sandra, for taking the time to write this review, it really does mean a lot to know how our care is appreciated. We totally understand the difficult times you are having to go through not visiting but glad you feel well informed. On behalf of us, all at Thorncliffe Grange THANK YOU.
Fantastic care home. I am so happy my mum chose to come here. The care that has been provided is amazing. All the staff are fantastic and lovely. You can see a real bond with all the residents. The manager is very supportive and has been so helpful. I honestly don't know where we would be now without the support of these lovely people.
Thank you, for taking the time to write such a lovely review, it's a pleasure to us to know that we are appreciated and of course, utilising your Mum's skills too. On behalf of us all at Thorncliffe Grange thank you x
The Thorncliffe Grange Nursing Home is an excellent home from home. The staff are fantastic and friendly, nothing is to much trouble. Mum was made comfortable and welcome from her 1st day, and we can visit whenever we want, which is comforting. The care all the residents receive is excellent, and we are kept updated as and when is needed, and if we call them to ask how our relatives are, we never made to feel like we are being a nuisance. Covid-19 has been hard on everyone, but our loved ones have had the same excellent care, and we have been regularly updated, which is a massive comfort as we cannot visit. Keep up the hard work which is greatly appreciated. Take care and stay safe
It's an absolute pleasure to do what we do and on behalf of us all at Thorncliffe Grange THANK YOU XX
My mother has been in this care home for 8-years now, and over this time, my sister and I have visited regularly. We are welcome to visit at any time and so can see the care home in action at all times of the day and evening. Our Mother has been so well cared for that her health actually improved when she first became a resident. The staff have made both our Mother, my sister and myself feel almost like family. The care home does feel like one big happy family. Everyone is treated with respect despite the difficulties that some residents have with dementia illnesses. Our Mother has needed hands-on nursing care since her arrival, and this has been administered both kindly and professionally. If we could have our choice again on selecting a care home now we have experience of what this involves; I would have no hesitation in choosing Thorncliffe Grange.
Thank you so very much, Karen. Mum is most definately a long-standing and wonderful part of the home and we cherish her even more so whilst you and your family can't visit. Mum is a pleasure to care for, on behalf of us all at Thorncliffe Grange THANK YOU XX
Our wonderful mum spent the last 12-months of her life at Thorncliffe Grange. She couldn't have been in a better place. The care shown to her by absolutely everyone was phenomenal. Staff treated her like she was their own mother. The carers were like friends and my brother and I could rest easy knowing that our mum was safe and comfortable and receiving the highest level of care. Nothing was too much trouble for the carers, who also saw that I was fed and watered the days I spent with mum. I cannot recommend the care given at Thorncliffe enough. I will always be thankful to everyone there for the love and care shown to our beautiful mum.
Thank you, Beverley, for the absolutely lovely review. I do apologise for the late response but I have only just received the set up to reply. Your Mum was a pleasure to care for as were you and your 'extended family' visiting. From all of us at Thorncliffe take care xx
I cannot recommend this care home highly enough. All the staff are very caring and friendly. It really feels like a home rather than an institution. I and the family; was looking for excellent care for my mother in her final months, and we certainly found it. The staff are highly trained and look after all their residents with dignity. Nothing is too much trouble, and you always feel welcome as a visitor. Almost part of the family. If you are looking for the smartest most modern decor, you won't find it here, but the most important thing is the care provided.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write this review, we really appreciate it. Your Mum was a pleasure!!
From all of us at Thorncliffe thank you x
He was welcomed with open arms by the folks at Thorncliffe and looked after with compassion, dignity and good humour.
Everyone there concerned made his last days as comfortable and pleasant as they possibly could, frankly, nothing was too much trouble and done with a fantastic friendly (almost family like manner)
No one even blinked an eye when we pretty much moved in for dad's last few days... AND they fed and watered us along with supporting us as well as dad.
We are truly comforted by the thoughts that dad had the best care possible at the end and that we were all amongst friends when he finally left us very peacefully.
Fantastic folks in a truly amazing place.
Thank you so much, Ian, for taking the time to write this review. Your Dad and your family were just a pleasure to have. I do hope you have found some comfort and peace-from all of us at Thorncliffe thank you x
As a former night care assistant myself for 20 years (and also caring for my Mum for 12), when she became too poorly to stay at home I knew what I was looking for in a home. Fancy décor and modern settings were not a priority – the people that work there are what make it. I found this at Thorncliffe Grange, with friendly and professional staff that care about their residents. All the staff were attentive and knowledgeable of both the residents and their relatives. The support they provide is second to none, and with so many terrible reviews in the media I wanted to highlight a very positive experience. We count ourselves lucky to have experienced the last months of Mum’s life with such wonderful people who were like extended family, and thank them from the bottom of our hearts for the hard work and commitment they gave at all times.
My wife spent four months in hospital due to the progression of dementia and as they could not get her mobile she was eventually transferred to Thorncliffe Grange in February 2018. The building is a little old but the staff do a wonderful job of keeping it clean and welcoming. As far as looking after the residents they do a truly terrific job and treat them with compassion and respect. There is always a friendly smile and a helping hand whenever needed. I was unsure about my wife going into a home but now feel she is better looked after than I could do myself. This has made my life a lot easier.
I admit that, on approaching the care home, my heart sank, as the building was typical of old houses turned into care homes. That view changed when I met the manager and staff and saw the facilities.
Mum's bedroom was- large, airy and exceptionally clean.
I visited at least twice a day and saw the staff in action with other residents. Everyone was treated with respect, kindness and patience and the staff went well over and above what was needed. The food smelt great and appetising - in fact mum put on a little weight!
I cannot praise the staff of Thorncliffe enough. It is a well-managed care home with some truly dedicated and hard-working staff who put the needs of the residents to the fore.
Thank you.
