Lakeside Nursing & Residential Home

We are very grateful for the care our relative received at Lakeside. There is 24 hour on call nursing and qualified staff who were very attentive. They provided specialised care and were very supportive of us as relatives through a difficult period. They were very caring.

There was a little area with tea, coffee, milk, and biscuits for visitors and relatives. This was brilliant because we could have a breather and wait whilst our relative was being attended to, and then be told we were OK to go back in and see our relative.

Thank you so much for allowing all our family to celebrate mums 85th birthday in the bistro yesterday. The buffet you provided was amazing along with all the kind assistance from the staff who always go above and beyond their duties xx

As a family, it gives us great comfort knowing he is safe, cared for and genuinely valued. We are so grateful to every member of staff for everything they do. Thank you for treating him with such kindness, dignity and respect.

My father has been a resident in Lakeside since mid March and has settled in well thanks to all the staff who are always pleasant and friendly and will go out of their way to make the residents feel happy and well cared for. Nothing is too much trouble for them.

A very warm inclusive atmosphere and because of it Gwen has thrived and still knows who we are.

I would like to thank you all. Staff at Lakeside for the care they provided for my grandma. After a fall they get her back on her feet and she was the most well we had seen her in years. Unfortunately after a short illness my grandma passed away. All the staff at Lakeside were incredible. The care, love and dignity they showed my grandma and family was unmatched. We felt like we were part of the Lakeside family, and during tough times they looked after us as a family. The staff don't work at Lakeside because its a job, they have a passion for caring. Before my grandma passed, she told us how well looked after she was. I hope the staff realise how special they are. I would highly recommend Lakeside, it is not just a care home, it's a family and home.

Care is very good. Always friendly and helpful staff. Would recommend the nursing home to anyone.

Financially expensive. But then all nursing homes are. Think this is more a government problem than millennium care. Those who obtain financial support get the most minimum of space, and the government should pay more

Nothing but good things to say about the Lakeside staff, other than we are grateful for the genuine love, care and support they provided..

Lakeside became a welcomed second home to my dad and the staff became a family. It's impossible to put in to words how grateful I am for everything you have done over the last two years for my dad's health and wellbeing as well as my own. I recently attended my elderly Aunt's special birthday. She had a wonderful day and I asked the Manager if the members of staff could help me organise a small party for her as I live a long distance away from her and I'm in my seventies . The Manager and staff Co-ordinated and organised everything food ( buffet) provided was wonderful and the cake was delicious. Nothing was too much trouble. On a daily basis my Aunt is well cared for and is kept busy with a variety of age appropriate activities which she thoroughly enjoys and keeps her occupied. She even has occasional visits to outside venues . I think the Manager and her team are very caring, and make all their residents feel welcome and well looked after. My Aunt seems very happy there and I would recommend the Care Home to anyone.

From the very first point of contact with Lakeside care home I have been treated, by all, with kindness, humanity and understanding. I have been welcomed and valued as a person, whilst my physical needs have been taken care of in a professional, supportive and homely manner. Staff provide a friendly, family feeling of care - nothing is too much trouble, day or night. They are kindness itself. I want for nothing. I immediately felt safe. I am comfortable, content and confident. I feel in safe hands.

My mum was 90 today. She has only resided in Lakeside for a week but, in that short time, staff have ensured that they have got to know her. Today, myself and a few relatives came to celebrate her birthday. The staff had made a delicious birthday cake and provided a nice buffet, which was much appreciated. We never thought my mum would end up in a care home but I know she will be well cared for and looked after in a loving environment.

Mum is happy. We have peace of mind. Priceless!

The carers in Lakeside were excellent and treated the residents with love and respect, understanding individual concerns and needs. They worked together as a team, ready to help each other when double help was needed with hoists, rearranging (patients) residents and keeping them comfortable and responsive to everyday activities.

P.S.: spotless clean, food hygiene 5*, a very homely fell and always welcoming.

My mum has been in Lakeside for 6 months, as a family we never thought our Mum would end up in a care home. Lakeside is my 2nd home, I love spending time there with Mum and love going to see all the other lovely residents, Lakeside is 1 big happy family. All the Staff are lovely from the admin staff, manager who goes out of her way and all the carers who are all amazing and look after all the residents and show love to each and everyone of them, not to forget the handyman. Thank you so much to all of you for what you do. When I leave Lakeside I know my mum is being looked after and I know the staff love her and she is in good caring hands. Thank you so much to you all for everything you do.

Lakeside has literally picked up the pieces of a previous bad experience in another care setting. It is like she has come home and my faith in the care sector restored. This is how it should be from day 1! I feel as if I have been involved and listened to and the staff is eager to understand how my mum's needs are to be met. A beautiful setting, lovely room and bedding that is bright, ironed and changed regularly. Dietary requirements have been met and patient and understanding carers take the time to assist with feeding. For the first time in months, I can see my mother pain-free, comfortable, clean and content.

I would recommend this care home.
