I literally cannot praise Lakeside enough. My dad has been a resident for 2.5 years and my mum was also there until December 2022 when she sadly died.
They helped my dad's transition as a widower and treated him with love, care and compassion. It was a difficult time and for myself, my brothers
and the rest of our family, knowing my dad was so well cared for meant everything to us.
As a whole I cannot praise the management, nursing, catering, carers, office and laundry staff enough. Nothing is too much trouble. I would also like to recognise the efforts as Activities Coordinator, she works so hard to find ways to encourage my dad to join in activities and events.
Thank you Lakeside for looking after my dad like he's your dad.

Mother in Law has lived at Lakeside for 5 years and is very settled and happy, well cared for with advanced dementia. The staff are always positive and welcoming and the activities keep a level of joyous engagement to the place. We are very grateful to the staff at Lakeside.

From the very first point of contact with Lakeside care home I have been treated, by all, with kindness, humanity and understanding. I have been welcomed and valued as a person, whilst my physical needs have been taken care of in a professional, supportive and homely manner. Staff provide a friendly,
family feeling of care - nothing is too much trouble, day or night. They are kindness itself. I want for nothing. I immediately felt safe. I am comfortable, content and confident. I feel in safe hands.

My mum was 90 today. She has only resided in Lakeside for a week but, in that short time, staff have ensured that they have got to know her. Today, myself and a few relatives came to celebrate her birthday. The staff had made a delicious birthday cake and provided a nice buffet, which was much appreciated.
We never thought my mum would end up in a care home but I know she will be well cared for and looked after in a loving environment.

Almost 99, having lived independently, Mum decided she needed 24 hour care.
It was with some trepidation that I visited Lakeside, but I need not have been anxious as we were instantly welcomed into lovely surroundings and a vibrant atmosphere, by friendly, polite and happy staff.
We felt immediately
at ease and reassured in such a pleasant, clean and family environment. One week later Mum took up residence and has never looked back. She is thriving in the care and love that she is receiving. She is treated with dignity, respect and professionalism at all times whilst enjoying the social conversations and friendships. The very genuine positive staff /resident and staff/staff relationships are clear for all to see.
Mum , and her family, have been welcomed and embraced into the family at Lakeside. All staff are approachable. Mum feels in safe hands , giving her the confidence to join in amazing outings, which we never expected.
Mum is happy. We have peace of mind. Priceless!

The carers in Lakeside were excellent and treated the residents with love and respect, understanding individual concerns and needs. They worked together as a team, ready to help each other when double help was needed with hoists, rearranging (patients) residents and keeping them comfortable and responsive
to everyday activities.

Lakeside Nursing Home is a well run home. The team go above and beyond and show unwavering commitment to the residents and the genuine care they show in every interaction. The residents look really happy, they do some kind of activity throughout the week, also they take the residents out i.e.: meals,
theatre etc.
I would like to give a big thank you for everything you do.
P.S.: spotless clean, food hygiene 5*, a very homely fell and always welcoming.

My mum has been in Lakeside for 6 months, as a family we never thought our Mum would end up in a care home. Lakeside is my 2nd home, I love spending time there with Mum and love going to see all the other lovely residents, Lakeside is 1 big happy family. All the Staff are lovely from the admin staff,
manager who goes out of her way and all the carers who are all amazing and look after all the residents and show love to each and everyone of them, not to forget the handyman. Thank you so much to all of you for what you do. When I leave Lakeside I know my mum is being looked after and I know the staff love her and she is in good caring hands. Thank you so much to you all for everything you do.

Lakeside has literally picked up the pieces of a previous bad experience in another care setting. It is like she has come home and my faith in the care sector restored. This is how it should be from day 1! I feel as if I have been involved and listened to and the staff is eager to understand how my
mum's needs are to be met. A beautiful setting, lovely room and bedding that is bright, ironed and changed regularly. Dietary requirements have been met and patient and understanding carers take the time to assist with feeding. For the first time in months, I can see my mother pain-free, comfortable, clean and content.

Following a fall and breaking her hip at her own home, my 91-year-old mum had an operation and, after three months of discharge, could no longer walk or stand.
She wasn’t eating and was very confused.
We needed a nursing home and viewed six before we found Lakeside.
Straight away, we felt happy,
and our first impression was of a clean, welcoming and caring home for Mum.
Moved in November 2023. She was still refusing to eat, but the chef prepared special meals, the staff fed her, and I’m happy to say she is now eating.
She will not leave her bed, but we are so pleased with how well the staff care for her.
She is still a little confused but was able to tell us how kind the staff are, that they help her to eat, the food is good, and she seems happier and more content than she was at home.
The management (including Jimmy the dog) and admin staff are really helpful and friendly and care for both residents and family.
Looking forward to the opening of The Bistro in January 2024.
I would recommend this care home.

Like many families, searching for a care home for my mum was a daunting experience as, until a fall in early October, Mum was living in her own home supported by carers and family, and this was not a path that she would have chosen to take.
On discharge from the hospital, it was apparent that Mum required
full-time care, and I looked at several homes in the local area.
Lakeside stood out as the care home of choice, and Mum moved in on the 11th of December.
All of the staff, without exception and regardless of role, show genuine care and compassion. My brothers and I are completely satisfied that Mum is being well looked after, as Lakeside has a homely feel, the food is excellent, and Mum’s nursing needs are fully met.

Excellent standard of care offered. Home is comfortable, and feels like Mum is part of a family there. All the staff are friendly and caring. Placing Mum in a care home was such a sad and difficult time, we visited lots of homes before Lakeside, but as soon as we set foot inside Lakeside we knew that
we had found the one. The manager and assistant are so approachable and proactive. We are delighted with the activities and visits that the staff organise for the residents, which I doubt happens at all care homes. I would and have recommended Lakeside 100% if you are considering a care home for a family member.

The manager has a team of wonderful, caring, professional nurses and carers. They are all cheerful, friendly and have a wonderful rapport with the residents.

The manager and staff are very caring and helpful. Mum enjoys living at Lakeside Residential Home, the meals are always good, the staff pleasant and her room spotless. There is some construction work on the grounds of the home at the moment, I am sure that it will be better once these are completed.

We moved my grandfather into Lakeside after a short period of ill health had undermined his ability to maintain his independence. It is fair to say he was reluctant to leave home but, several months later, he and his family are all so pleased with how things have turned out. My grandfather is entirely
at home in a wonderful, caring environment. He is entertained and challenged by the daily activities, is eating well and is enjoying life to a far greater degree than he was previously. All of the staff seem to go above and beyond in providing care and friendship.

The care, dedication and commitment of all the staff are truly amazing. They are all very special people who go above and beyond to ensure all the residents receive a wonderful experience every single day.
Mum thoroughly enjoyed her recent holiday and we will never be able to thank you enough for

The home is managed in an extremely professional manner and the activities manager and her team are quite extraordinary, just brilliant!

The Manager leads a good team - they provide very good care for my mother and are very considerate to me and other family members. It is sad that my mother is no longer able to take advantage of the wide range of interesting activities which are frequently provided.
