Gail and the Lakeside staff were all fabulous in the care of my sister. My sister was in her early fifties so not typical for a care home setting I don't think, but she was embraced in to the Lakeside family.
My sister was always well taken care of at Lakeside, however prior to moving to Lakeside,
she had not been out of bed for around 16 months. When she arrived, she was encouraged to be out of bed, washed, changed and join the other residents for meals and activities. She even went on a couple of trips outside of the home, given she had previously not been out of bed for such a long time, this was fantastic progress and a great experience for her.
My sister unfortunately passed away, but we know she was so well cared for and this made her last five months the best they could have been and that brings us a lot of comfort.
Nothing but good things to say about the Lakeside staff, other than we are grateful for the genuine love, care and support they provided..

It has been my experience that all the staff are exceptionally caring and helpful on all aspects of my friends care. In particular during October 2025, the manager was very helpful in dealing with a team from social housing which concluded in my friend being able to stay in the loving care of Norley
Care Home. I am pleased to offer this feed back for the care provided for my friend.
Reply from Kathryn Rimmer, Registered Manager at Norley Hall Care HomeThank you very much for taking the time to share such kind and thoughtful feedback.

We are truly grateful for your recognition of the care, compassion, and dedication shown by our staff. It is always our priority to ensure residents feel safe, supported, and valued, and we are pleased to hear that this was your experience.

Your comments regarding the support provided during October 2025 are especially appreciated. We are glad that the discussions with the social housing team resulted in your friend being able to remain at Norley Care Home, where their wellbeing and continuity of care are so important to us.

Thank you again for your trust and for your generous words. They mean a great deal to the whole team and encourage us to continue providing the highest standard of care.

My dad had broken his hip and following a hospital admission he returned to Worthington Lake. The staff gave him reassurance, care and support to settle him back home and to regain his confidence. The professionalism of the carers, the occupational therapist and all staff have enabled Dad to feel happy
back at Worthington Lake and to walk safely again. Thank you for the extra TLC provided to Dad and the family, particularly at this time, it is much appreciated.

Making the decision to place my mum into residential care has been the toughest decision of my life. Despite our best efforts as a family with the support of home carers, being in her own home was not an option for my Mum.
After previous bad experiences with respite and rehabilitation care, I was heartbroken
when my Mum moved into Lakeside in June 2024.
Gail, Lisa and their amazing team were fantastic at helping my Mum settle and treated my endless questions, phone calls and enquiries as never too much trouble as I struggled with my Mum's illness and her decline.
What Lakeside gave to my Mum was dignity, love and first-class round the clock care. Everyone of the staff treated my Mum like one of their own family members.
But what they also did was treat me like one of their own too. Helping me, supporting me through making decisions to ensure my Mum got the care she rightly deserved.
I will be eternally grateful for the time we had with Mum at Lakeside.
Reply from Gail Howard, Manager at Lakeside Nursing & Residential HomeThank you for your heart felt review. We loved caring for your mum, you and your brother. Your mum was an inspiration to us all and a fashion icon, which we loved. Hope to see you soon for a catch up.

Lavender Hills excellent.
A little disappointed by lack of welcome and handover on first day. I spoke to them and they say it shouldn't have been like that.
Since then top marks and very welcoming.
Kala, manager particularly helpful and available.

I recently attended my elderly Aunt's special birthday. She had a wonderful day and I asked the Manager if the members of staff could help me organise a small party for her as I live a long distance away from her and I'm in my seventies . The Manager and staff Co-ordinated and organised everything
food ( buffet) provided was wonderful and the cake was delicious. Nothing was too much trouble. On a daily basis my Aunt is well cared for and is kept busy with a variety of age appropriate activities which she thoroughly enjoys and keeps her occupied. She even has occasional visits to outside venues . I think the Manager and her team are very caring, and make all their residents feel welcome and well looked after. My Aunt seems very happy there and I would recommend the Care Home to anyone.

Care was needed for my sister-in-law after hospitalisation, and we sat in on some interviews she had with prospective establishments. Lavender Hills stood out for us, They were very professional in explaining everything to us,very relaxed and friendly in approach.Having no previous experience of Care
Homes thiis was reassuring.
We live outside the area, and Kala and her staff are excellent in keeping us up to date with everything .Our biggest relief is my sister-in-law's attitude to this necessary change to her life.
Lavender Hills has reinvigorated her view on life, providing a reason to plough on despite her difficulties.Everyone is cheerful, so pleasant and interesting, it raises the spirits.
She is escorted to medical appointments, in -house visits by optitians, chiropodist, hairdresser, G.P. the list is impressive. There is a good choice of entertainment possibilities, don't feel like it today, no problem! The daily ritual of menu choice is a favourite she loves . A winner!

From first walking into the home it had a warm and welcoming feeling this was extremely comforting for me as when a loved one goes into respite with a view to it being permanent it is a hard decision and to feel how I felt when I was there was comforting. All the staff from cleaners to managers were
welcoming to us as a family especially under the circumstances nothing was too much trouble for them, we were made to feel comfortable was shown around and everything explained to us. We were able to stay and enjoy coffee/ tea etc when the entertainment was on. The home is a credit to all who work there and would highly recommend to others looking for care.
Reply from Kathryn Rimmer, Registered Manager at Norley Hall Care HomeThank you sincerely for your kind words. It was our pleasure to welcome you and your family into the home, especially at such an important and emotional time. We understand how difficult the decision can be when a loved one comes in for respite with the possibility of a longer stay, and we are truly glad that you felt comforted from the moment you arrived.
Our team - from housekeeping through to management - take great pride in creating a homely, welcoming environment where families feel supported, informed and at ease. It is lovely to hear that you were able to relax, enjoy refreshments, and share in the entertainment alongside your loved one. Moments like these are at the heart of what we strive to provide.
Your recommendation means a great deal to us all. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, and please be assured that we will continue to give the same care, warmth and dedication each and every day.

Mum came into Langtree initially for 9 days respite care whilst I went on a much needed holiday. Upon my return and during my first visit to mum at Langtree she was quite adamant that she would like to stay longer as she was really enjoying her stay. She had nothing but positive things to say about
the staff who were very friendly and caring, the excellent food, her lovely comfortable room and the amount of engagement activity, both planned and adhoc. She had her 91st birthday whilst in Langtree and they made such a fuss of her which she absolutely loved. Mum ended up staying for 4 weeks and thoroughly enjoyed her stay. I have no hesitation in recommending Langtree.

Langtree is a lovely care home. My Mum is on respite there and is being extremely well cared for, after several difficult weeks in hospital. All of her needs are taken care of, with minimal fuss and Mum has made amazing progress.
One of the best features is the staff that work there, nothing is too
much trouble for them and they make a lot of effort to build a meaningful relationship with each individual resident, from day one. It's lovely to see Mum's face light up when she sees a member of staff. When I have questions or concerns there's always a member of the caring team or a manager willing to discuss things, which is very reassuring.
As well as trips out, there is an incredible variety of well run in-house activities for residents. These make a massive difference and create a positive and fun atmosphere in the home, which all contributes to making it a special place to live. I'm pleased I chose Langtree to care for my Mum.

My mum has only been a resident at Langtree for a matter of weeks, but after ten months of being in hospital, I am seeing an improvement in her. A care home isn't just about the care, but for me it's the whole package, the environment, activities, the staff, the way visitors are treated, the list is
endless , and for me Langtree ticks the boxes. Only this week my mum and other residents were taken to a local garden centre. That was the first time in ten months that my mum left a care/ hospital setting, and as an avid gardener, she loved it. Thankyou

Both parents have been at Langtree for a month now and it is the best decision we could have made. The home itself feels more like a hotel than a care home - no beige rooms filled with people asleep in recliners. Their individual bedrooms are spacious and well decorated. The food is plentiful and healthy,
all made on site by a great chef. But what really makes it is the staff. They are incredibly hardworking, caring and bright.

We've had a couple of teething problems, which is natural since the home opened very recently, but they have been sorted out and I can sleep easy knowing my parents are cared for so well.

We were looking for a home for dad. We spent time visiting all the homes in our area. Lavender Hills stood out far above all the other homes. The home is clean and beautifully presented. The staff all go out of there way to welcome you in and make you feel part of a family the moment you step through
the door. We love how their ethos is to care for your loved ones in a nurturing environment but promote and encourage independent living where possible. The atmosphere around the home is incredibly calm. The menu offered by the chef is incredibly extensive and the food looks amazing. The relaxed dining experience has more of a restaurant feel to it and not institutionalised like other homes we visited. I would absolutely recommend Lavender Hills to anyone looking for a future home for their loved ones.
