Before I took up residence in Lakeside, I gained opinions from past users and my family visited, and only ever received excellent reviews. This contributed to my choice of care home, and I have found the praise for Lakeside fully justified.
Thank you for your feedback. It is a pleasure to have you living with us here at Lakeside.
Resident care is an absolute priority.
I can't thank them enough for looking after my wife for eight weeks.
Thank you for your lovely words. It was our absolute pleasure to assist you with getting your wife back home. I will pass on your feedback to the team.
Mum was very lucky to stay here for her end-of-life care. She called it home. All the staff made her feel welcome and comfortable, and nothing was too much trouble. She became one of the family. We would not hesitate to recommend Lakeside to anyone looking for a care home.
Thank you for leaving us a review. Your mum has been a pleasure to care for and was such a lovely lady. We appreciate your kind words and your positive feedback has been passed on to our dedicated team!
The manager and staff are very caring and helpful. Mum enjoys living at Lakeside Residential Home, the meals are always good, the staff pleasant and her room spotless. There is some construction work on the grounds of the home at the moment, I am sure that it will be better once these are completed.
Thank you for leaving a review! We're so pleased you and your mum are happy with Lakeside. Your mum is a pleasure to care for. Your positive feedback has been passed on to our dedicated team.
My mother was very ill at this time and the home was quite concerned for her. However, she has come through this thanks to the care and comfort given to her at this time and at all times. Nothing was too much to ask and we are very grateful.
Thank you for leaving us a review, your mum is an absolute pleasure to care for. Your feedback has been passed on to our team!
We moved my grandfather into Lakeside after a short period of ill health had undermined his ability to maintain his independence. It is fair to say he was reluctant to leave home but, several months later, he and his family are all so pleased with how things have turned out. My grandfather is entirely at home in a wonderful, caring environment. He is entertained and challenged by the daily activities, is eating well and is enjoying life to a far greater degree than he was previously. All of the staff seem to go above and beyond in providing care and friendship.
Thank you for your lovely review. Your grandfather is a delight to look after and keeps us all entertained.
Mum thoroughly enjoyed her recent holiday and we will never be able to thank you enough for giving her this amazing opportunity.
The home is managed in an extremely professional manner and the activities manager and her team are quite extraordinary, just brilliant!
Thank you so much to the team for everything you all do for my mum. Without doubt or hesitation, we highly recommend Lakeside.
Thank you so much for your lovely words. Thank you also for always supporting our events and activities. Your mum is a pleasure to care for.
The Manager leads a good team - they provide very good care for my mother and are very considerate to me and other family members. It is sad that my mother is no longer able to take advantage of the wide range of interesting activities which are frequently provided.
Thank you for your amazing review. I will pass on your comments to the staff.
Lovely weather for today's Easter fair and great to get into the beautiful grounds with views over Worthington Lake.
Thanks again to the Manager, Activities Coordinator, Administrators and all the team, must mention all the kitchen staff too, our dad really enjoys all his meals at the home.
Thank you for your lovely review. It is a pleasure to look after your dad - He is a true gentleman and is always very thankful daily.
My partner has joined the residents after suffering a stroke in November 2021. Despite a good recovery at the age of almost 89 he can be unsteady and had lost confidence and become isolated through not leaving the house. Since joining the Lakeside community he has been encouraged to be as independent as possible, made new friends and even been out and about to places like the local library again. The staff are lovely and caring and it is the ideal environment to live to the full once one has to face a degree of fragility.
Thank you for spending time leaving this kind review. I will pass on your positive feedback to all the dedicated staff.
Very pleased with the high standards which the home achieves. It was particularly nice to see how committed the staff were to ensure residents enjoyed Christmas festivities and my mum's birthday. Activities continue to be great as they are very inventive and imaginative during the restrictions.
Thank you for your kind words. We are so pleased your mum enjoyed her birthday and that you are happy with the activities that go on in the home. Your feedback will be passed on to our dedicated team!
My mother has coped very well due to the consideration given to her mental health by the staff.
The menu is varied and really enjoyed by residents. As for the activities team who go to extreme lengths to uplift the residents, they must be premier league. Many thanks.
Thank you for your lovely words. It is a pleasure to look after your mother.
I want to say a massive thank you to the staff at Lakeside for all their kindness and excellent care of my dad, who found himself in desperate need of convalescent help for six weeks after a stay in hospital with pneumonia. Dad came out of hospital just too weak and confused to be able to manage at home, but with the attention of the staff and their unfailing vigilance and dedication, he was able to get on his feet again and return to his own home. They made Christmas a special time for him too, where Covid at my own home, prevented him from visiting us. Thanks Lakeside. I only hope there is somewhere like you for me to go when the time comes!
Thank you for your lovely words. Your dad was a pleasure to care for. I will pass on your comments to all the staff.
Covid regulation being followed ensuring a safe environment for residents and visitors.
Food is varied, plentiful, and well prepared.
5 star nursing home that ensures residents well being 24/7.
Staff go to great lengths to provide regular entertainment for the residents.
Thank you for your kind comments. It is a pleasure to care for your mother, your understanding of the extra measures we are taking to keep all the residents safe is appreciated.
My mum stayed for seven months and within two months I could see a huge change from the day she arrived to the day she left. I cannot praise the staff enough. Nothing was too much trouble and the activities are amazing I would definitely recommend this care home.
Lakeside has been fantastic for my dad and the rest of the family. The staff are extremely person-centred and listen to the needs and wishes of residents and family. The staff feel like family and have made the transition from moving my dad from home to nursing care much easier with their holistic skills underpinned by best practice and quality assured care!
My father went in for nursing/respite care after a short stay in hospital - advanced cancer. He died in there three weeks later. He said that he did not feel safe and the staff was not responsive. He had three falls, no action was taken to prevent this (no mats with alarms/staff slow to respond). The staff didn't understand his basic needs - i.e. needed to go to the toilet quickly but the staff was very slow to attend to him. This resulted in him falling or having accidents (when he couldn't get out of bed). He was not treated with dignity or respect. He was even told to just "go in his pants" as they thought he had a colostomy bag. He was left in his bed for hours when he wanted to sit in his chair and vice versa, the staff seemed too busy to help, some were reprimanded by nurses for helping when they had other duties. We were told we were not able to visit in the lockdown as he was not at the end of life, we feel this was because we complained about the care we saw, he died two days later.
The resident was receiving end of life care. There was one instance where the family were not contacted when the resident fell, we recognise this as unacceptable, apologised...
A) Residents are so well cared for.
B) Staff who really love their work and go out of their way to keep residents entertained and thus happy.
Thank you for your kind words. I will pass on your review to all the staff.
What can I say, this place is incredible. My nana was adamant about never ever wanting to go into a nursing home. However, rather distressingly, the home she loved for over 60 years was no longer an option for her. After being placed in 3 different care homes, we became upset about her rapid deterioration both mentally and physically and moved her into Lakeside Nursing & Residential Home 8 days ago. Her transformation since then has been nothing short of miraculous. Lakeside has given my nana a new lease on life, and they have given us our nana back. After a year spent largely in isolation in her home, my nana is now busier than ever. Either being taken on walks, baking, doing puzzles or participating in any number of events that the amazing staff have planned. Thank you Lakeside, and thank you to the incredible staff for taking care of my nana, and for giving us peace of mind knowing that our loved one is happy and healthy!
Great place, staff very kind and helpful. My Dad's health is significantly improved since he came here. The home went to great lengths to keep us in touch even through the stringent lockdown. Lots of activities going on for those who want them, and lovely grounds to walk in. Great that Dad can have his dog to visit, and can take her for a walk.
