My father has been a resident at Lakeside Nursing & Residential Home for around 12 months, and I have been very impressed with the high standard of care he has received during the past 12 months. The staff at Lakeside have treated my father with the utmost respect and dignity, and I would wholeheartedly recommend Lakeside to anyone who is in the unenviable position of having to consider sending a loved one into a care home.
I am delighted how well my mum has settled into Lakeside. She was welcomed by the kind and caring staff, which meant a lot as I could not help her to move into her room due to Covid restrictions. She has been encouraged to talk about her interest in art and having some of her paintings hung in the home has given her a sense of pride. A great deal of imagination and creativity must go into the numerous activities organised at Lakeside which means there is something for residents to join in with each day if they so wish. The meals are always delicious and additional treats, such as tea parties, thoroughly enjoyed. It is a relief to know that Mum is safe, happy and well cared for.
My auntie has found old friends and made new friendships which she thoroughly enjoys. The home has a fantastic activity coordinator who along with the management team are always putting on various themed parties, outings, bingo etc.
It was a big decision for my auntie to move into Lakeside, but it really was the right choice.
My mum has been there since November 2018.
When she was admitted from hospital she was in bed the whole time and crippled with arthritic pain.
Now she is out of bed and walking with a zimmer frame and also joining in the fabulous activities they have most days. She has made friends and had a new lease of life all thanks to the amazing and dedicated staff. The home is in the most beautiful grounds and she often sits outside in the sunshine. I would highly recommend this care home to anyone.
Thank you so much for your lovely review! Your kind words mean so much to all of us here at Lakeside! We love having your mum as part of our Lakeside family and love that she joins in all of the activities we have going on every day. We are incredibly proud of how much your mum's mobility has improved and her quality of life.
My sister is extremely well looked after and can’t think of a better place to be, nothing is too much trouble and the staff attend to her every need without hesitation. In her words it’s a ‘5 star hotel’
On arrival I found the staff and carers to be welcoming and accommodating. My auntie is being well looked after, she is healthy and happy. The facilities are outstanding and my auntie is very content to reside there. The grounds are stunning with plenty of outdoor space to sit and relax. The personal care and time the carers invest is amazing to see, nothing is too much trouble. My auntie describes it as a 5 star hotel.
Good quality care, in a friendly environment. We recently had to deal with a room move, during Covid-19 which managed to include the family in the decision making process around room suitability and supporting our family member through the uncertainty of a room move, when we couldn't be there. Good management means that issues around visiting during Covid-19 was well managed, safe and available.
Thank you very much for your kind review, this means so much to all of us at Lakeside.
Would be really surprised if anyone could find a better care home anywhere.
Hi John,
Thank you so much for your kind words, I will pass this feedback on to our team at Lakeside. It is a pleasure to have your mother with us as part of our Lakeside family.
The events coordinator needs a special thank you for all she does with the residents, keeping them forever young. You truly are an amazing team of people and I wouldn’t want my grandma to be anywhere else. Thank you all so much.
Hi Angela,
Thank you so much for your kind words, this means so much to all of us at Lakeside. It is a pleasure to have your gran with us as part of the Lakeside family.
My mum has only been in Lakeside for one week. The care and comfort she is receiving is excellent. We as a very close loving family are so pleased our mum is staying here.
Thank you, Yvonne, for your lovely review. It is a pleasure to have your mum here with us as part of the Lakeside family.
On the whole, Lakeside is a very good care home providing excellent needs for my father who has been there a long time. The pandemic really hit hard as not seeing him was terrible, the pod was a godsend, but a few mix-ups with visiting was a nightmare and hopefully, the issue is resolved now. The management and staff are an amazing bunch of people, who if I have a problem, they will act on it. Thank you, everyone!
My mum was admitted to Lakeside from hospital following a stroke in January. Her admission to Lakeside was when visiting was not allowed due to the pandemic. During this time the staff communicated with me as required and eventually restrictions eased and I was allowed to see her. I trained and worked as a nurse in the seventies and my last position was as a senior lecturer in nursing within a university. I have nothing but praise and admiration for the staff and believed the nursing care provided was of the highest quality. This is a well managed and well organised care home.
My Aunt could not have been better cared for. The care provided was excellent medically and mentally, with excellent nursing care and a brilliant entertainment program. Unfortunately, Covid took her, but we were very happy that she passed away amongst her friends at Lakeside.
Thank you so much for your review of Lakeside, your aunt was a huge part of Lakeside and always will be with the fond memories we have of her lovely smile! It was a pleasure to have her as part of our Lakeside family.
I was very well received to the home and would recommend it to everyone, the staff and carers alike.
Thank you, M B, for your kind words. You have brought so much joy to all of us at Lakeside since you arrived in September and we love having you as part of our Lakeside family.
I have been a resident here for the past 18 months and have been treated with the utmost respect, nothing is too much trouble, you only have to ask and you will recieve immediate attention. The staff are fantastic, the home is fantastic overall, I can't complain. The activities are a godsend, keeps us etremely busy and creates friendships. The Rawsthorne Retreat is named after me and provides you with the opportunity to keep in touch with friends and family. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this home to any other person. The location of the home is excellent with great views of the surrounding lakes, especially from my room.
Thank you so much for your kind words, it is our pleasure to have you here as part of the Lakeside family, your presence fills the home with joy!
Lakeside is not just a carehome but a family. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, they have been excellent in caring for loved ones. The mental, as well as physical well being of the residents, has been their top priority. Regular Facebook posts and videos, along with their ‘state of the art’ visitation pod, have kept families truly up to date with what is going on at the home. A truly professional and well-organised home. I would like to thank all Lakeside staff for the compassionate care that they gave, along with the dignity and respect shown to my Aunt as she was failing and eventually passed away on the 30th of December 2020. She managed to enjoy her 94th birthday and Christmas; we couldn’t have chosen anyone better than to be in the care of her Lakeside family.
Thank you, Patricia, for your lovely kind words, this means so much to everyone at Lakeside. We are so pleased your Aunt was able to celebrate her 94th Birthday with us and then Christmas, she will be missed greatly as a part of our Lakeside family. Thank you to you and your family for choosing Lakeside as your Aunts home in her later life.
Dad's been a resident for just under 12 months. In that time, his mental and physical health appear to have improved immensely. Although it's been a horrendous and strange year, he seems to have settled well. Surprisingly, he joins in, and enjoys the daily activities and has a good amount of freedom. I'm happy with Dad's care and would happily recommend Lakeside.
Thank you Martin for your lovely comments! We very much appreciate your feedback and look forward to the day we can welcome you back in to our home.
I am thrilled with the continuing excellent care that my partner receives at Lakeside. Over the festive period, the whole staff have gone far beyond the call of duty by providing some excellent activities and stimulation for all the residents. They had Christmas lights switch-on in the grounds where families were allowed to decorate their cars and drive around a few times much to the delight of residents. They had an evening trip to view the Christmas lights in the local area. Many relevant activities including carol concerts, games, baking and a Christmas party. The owners have invested in building a lodge where we can safely visit our relatives during this pandemic. What a difference this means to everyone concerned. The efforts from the Manager and all her staff are to be applauded as they constantly go the extra mile for their residents. I am so fortunate to have my partner receiving this level of care. Thank you to everyone at Lakeside. You are an amazing team.
Thank you Janet, for your lovely comments, we are so incredibly proud of all the team here at Lakeside and we can not wait for the day we can welcome you back in to our home and put the kettle on!
My mother-in-law has been a resident for nearly three years. My father-in-law still remained at his home. We decided to place him for respite for a month, he settled in so much that he is now a full-time resident and he loves it.
Thank you Glenda, for your lovely comments. Your mother and father-in-law are a huge part of our home and we can not wait to be able to welcome you back in, we are so pleased you have been able to stay connected using our visitation lodge.
Lakeside is a caring environment. The staff are lovely and the facilities are excellent. There are always things going on for the residents. The food is excellent and so are the surroundings. It's a home from home.
