Lakeside Nursing and Residential Home is sat within 4 acres of mature gardens accessed via a tree lined driveway, Lakeside welcomes you with a grand entrance. Overlooking the beautiful Worthington Lake in Standish, the home provides specialist nursing care and high quality residential care support in some of the most beautiful surroundings in the area.

The home is situated a short five minute journey from the M6 and M61 motorways providing ideal access to Wigan, Bolton and the Lancashire and Greater Manchester areas. I have found Lakeside Nursing & Residential Home Standish to be a friendly, clean, caring home for my mum. The management and staff are excellent, so helpful and friendly, patient and understanding about our worries for mum. Nothing is too much trouble always ask at every visit if everything ok. Lots
of activities happening every day and feel we made the right decision for mum to call it her new home. Thanks for making mum so happy.

Mum has b4een here for a couple of weeks now and has been very well looked after and been made to feel part of the home very quickly. The staff are amazing, always welcoming no matter what time I turn up. There is a very happy atmosphere all of the time. Nothing is too much trouble and there is a definite
family feeling amongst all.

I was asked to find a nursing home for my mother. My daughter and I visited Lakeside first. e knew straight away that this home was ideal for my mother. The atmosphere, staff and manager seemed perfect. We had to look at others for the sake of comparison to The Lakeside. None of these wer as good as
Lakeside.

This care home is absolutely fantastic. All the staff that work there are so so kind and respectful. My mum has been cared for in every way possible.
I can highly recommend the food which is wholesome and nutritious.
If I needed to go into care then there would be no other place I would choose for
myself.

When I visited the home there was such a lovely atmosphere between the staff and residents.
I was greeted by the manager who was very professional and helpful. A new asset to Lakeside.

My mum has been a resident at Lakeside for the last year and a half and this is my first review because I did not want to be negative about Lakeside. There have been lots of very positive changes taken place in recent months at Lakeside, all for the better and I now feel that I am able to give an honest
review.
There is now a new manager and the atmosphere is much improved, happier and calmer which radiates through to the staff to the residents and visitors.
All the staff, nurses and carers, cleaners, chefs and laundry work extremely hard and are very welcoming to visitors. The home is clean and refurbishments are in progress. There are no off-putting odours. There is a new build which has caused some disruption to the beautiful grounds and car park but that will soon be at an end.

My mother had been in hospital, having fractured her hip. She was left unable to walk and needed 24 hour nursing care. Lakeside was very welcoming and since moving in, the carers have tried their best to make her life as comfortable as possible.
The problem is there just aren't enough staff and so
sometimes, it can be 15-35 mins before help arrives and then my mother will be incontinent.
It isn't the carers fault; they are absolutely superb.

My dad was resident here from late November till he passed on New Years Day. The nurse's carers even cleaners and kitchen staff gave not just my dad but us as a family first class care. They were patient understanding and so very supportive to me and my family not just during the worst time of our lives
but afterwards as well. Can't thank them enough. Would highly recommend. Just hope when I'm of age I'm fortunate enough to reside somewhere like Lakeside Nursing and Residential Home.

My father stayed in a comfortable room for four weeks. We found all the staff to be friendly, cheerful, helpful and caring in many ways. He said the food was excellent every day. Both the building and grounds were very pleasant. The nurses I met were very conscientious and the place was very well run.

Fantastic care given by all members of staff, from manager to office staff, kitchen staff and nursing staff. No request is too much trouble and support given to the family was priceless. Fabulous care home. Would recommend it to anyone.

Our experience of Lakeside Nursing and Residential Home was the best we could have asked for. The staff were amazing with my grandad who was very ill with lung cancer. We were made to feel very welcome, we spent a lot of the time there during the last weeks of his life and we couldn't have asked for
any better care. They cared for my grandad with dignity and respect and on his last day, the love and respect we felt will stay with us forever. Grandad called you all angels and you truly are.

I was very happy with my mother's care in Lakeside Nursing & Residential Home. The bedroom and public areas are bright and cheerful, always clean and well maintained. My mother enjoyed the meals and the menus always looked appetising but the most outstanding feature of the home is the staff. All members
of staff were pleasant and friendly, treating my mother with great care and consideration especially in the last week before she was admitted to hospital when she was nursed superbly. I cannot praise the staff highly enough.

My dad lived at lakeside for 2 years eight months. He had very poor health, but was cared for very well. He was unable to be moved and for the majority of his stay was in bed. All staff from the nurses to the domestic staff always made time to stop and have a chat to him. As his health deteriorated
they ensured he was comfortable and pain free. I cannot thank them enough for their kindness and support .

After a sudden illness we had to find care accommodation for my father at short notice. We were fortunate to have a number of care homes in our area to choose from. We visited them all.
At Lakeside we were struck by the professionalism, pro active and naturally caring attitude at this home and, having
admitted my father, our initial expectations have been exceeded. From a life threatening scenario he has been nursed back to strength. He finds the atmosphere in the home friendly and, as a family, we are always welcomed warmly upon our visits.
Having considerable experience on the receiving end of nursing care over recent years with other family members, we cannot sing the praises of the Lakeside management team loudly enough.
