My mum has fantastic care from all the staff, especially during the coronavirus pandemic. Although I wasn't allowed to go in to see her, I was able to phone up and speak to her, which was lovely. The staff are brilliant with her and other residents, which reassures me she is in good hands.

My mum has been a resident of Brooklands for 18-months now. Since the outbreak of covid-19, I haven't been able to see my mum, as the home locked down to protect her and the other residents. When I've seen my mum, it's clear that she's been well cared for during lockdown. At such a worrying time, I
could not be more at ease knowing how well my mum is cared for.

The manager and assistant manager are exceptional, approachable and a credit to Brooklands as nothing is too much trouble for them or any of their staff. I am happy knowing my mother is content and well cared for in a lovely room surrounded by her personal items. She spends a lot of time socialising
in the lounge with other residents she is happy and always says how lovely the staff are.

Mother is well looked after and content. She has a decent-sized room. She has access to a communal lounge and garden area. The home is well run; residents' safety and security being a priority. It is well maintained and kept spotlessly clean. There are regular activities, such as bingo and they do things
around key events in the year, such as making Easter bonnets, or calender for New Year. The food is of good quality and it is a pleasant dining room. Everything is on a level so good for people with mobility issues. Management is approachable and listens to your concerns and involve you in the care plan.

The manager, deputy manager, and all staff at Brooklands are approachable, friendly and caring. My mum was in another residential home before Brooklands and was transferred to Brooklands after a short stay in hospital. It was an anxious time but the management and staff were very reassuring and my Mum's
needs are all met (all staff is dedicated). Thank you.

Recommend Brooklands for your loved ones that require 24/7 care. My sister is really happy here, and it did not take long for her to settle in. The reason for this is she feels safe, secure and is well cared for. The staff are amazing, friendly, and so caring. They understand and appreciate the needs
of people suffering from this dreadful condition. I would give them 11 out of 10 for their devotion to their patients. We are so happy we chose Brooklands to care for our much-loved sister. The staff go the extra mile for their patients and their families.

I cannot express the gratitude I have for the team who looked after my Dad in his last 6wks of life. I felt true compassion and respect for him, but also for us as a family. I had travelled from Canada to be with him and they did everything they could to support us as a family. Not a hint of frustration
or impatience just smiling, friendly, caring staff. Thank you so much.

My friend has been a resident of Brooklands for some time now. The new manager has made such a difference. The home is clean, always smells lovely and is in the process of being decorated throughout.
The staff are welcoming and professional and my friend looks well cared for and her room is lovely.
I don't think the general public realise how difficult a job it is to take care of the sick and the vulnerable, but the team do so in a manner to reassure even the most nervous of families.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.921)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.921) out of 10 for Brooklands Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 36 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 36 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.921 for Brooklands Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (397 Excellents x 5) + (30 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 429 Ratings = 4.921
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Brooklands Care Home is based on 36 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 43 registered maximum number of service users is 8.6, which has been reached with 36 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
