Mum was brought to Church View in March this year from hospital after undergoing a hip operation following a fall she had at her previous care home. At the time Mum was very confused and frightened in new her surroundings, but gradually she has begun to accept her new home and celebrated her 90th birthday last week in the garden of the home with her dear family some of who she has not been able to see for over 12 months. The manager and her team are very caring and accommodating and nothing is too much trouble for them - each member of staff contributes to Mum’s care and I cannot thank them enough for making her feel secure and included. Mum joins in with the numerous activities and even enjoys a little glass of wine with the other residents - I look forward to seeing what they’re up to on the Facebook page. Thank you for looking after Mum after a very stressful 12 months.

My mum was admitted to Church View Nursing & Residential Home in March having being in a different home since end of December, which turned out not to our families liking. Mum arrived and was suffering from various ailments and was poorly, they jumped to it getting appropriate medical people involved to try and help getting Mum sorted. Mum is up and down on a weekly basis and they put up with me calling and emailing all the time. The staff friendly and the manager is very efficient. Church View Nursing & Residential Home is my mum's forever home, I feel comfortable knowing mum is safe and looked after. Plenty of things going on for the residents. The place is clean, bright and has a lovely dining room. The pod was a great idea and my family made use of it. Well done to the manager and her staff.

I’m so lucky that I chose this home. The staff go above and beyond for the residents and even their families. I cannot thank them all enough, words don’t do it justice. They have an amazing visitors pod that staff hand-painted, well done all who work here and thank you for everything

This home has been great with my grandad. After years of him having kidney issues and problems with gallstones, the hospitals hasn’t taken action. He was there three days and they sent him in and made sure he was catheterised. Since the catheter, his health has increased and he’s so much more comfortable. Great bunch of staff.

My dad went into Church View for respite for three weeks when, we as a family, were at breaking point. From the off, the communication and care were fantastic, the manager and staff are all lovely. My dad was in a lot of pain on admission, and we were getting nowhere with GP; the home arranged the community matron and a GP to see him, they reviewed all his medication, and now he is a lot more settled. I can’t thank the manager, staff, nurses enough, my dad loved the food, was kept clean and was treated with dignity and respect. You just want your loved ones to be safe and looked after, and he definitely was. The home is spotless, smells lovely, only went in his room a couple of times it was small but ok, the pod is a fantastic idea for the family to be able to visit during Covid restrictions.

Since my mother-in-law came to stay at Church view, the staff and manager have gone above and beyond for her care. It wasn't the greatest time to go into a home at the beginning of a pandemic but the staff have ensured we could still have contact even through a perspex screen and have looked after my mother-in-law well.

Would highly recommend.

The staff at Church View are amazing. My uncle was a resident here, and I couldn't thank them enough for the care they provided. I have had other encounters with numerous amount of care homes for different family members, and none comes close to how amazing this one was. My uncle was very content here up until he passed away; they provided him with everything he needed. I would visit him once a week, and every time, he would tell me what he had been up to and how the staff were very friendly and always assisted his needs. I would definitely recommend this care home to anyone in the future.

Unfortunately in 2019, our Mum's Nursing home was closed down, but incredibly, we managed to secure a room In Church View for her until her passing in November 2020. Mum had dementia with very little communication skills, except with her eyes. When we arrived at Church View, we were greeted with open arms from all the staff, making this transition easier for Mum and both of us. We felt part of their family immediately. The staff were passionate and caring towards Mum, they were all polite, professional and had a great understanding of her needs. The staff worked so hard in making Mum and all the residents happy Including decorating the home on Christmas, Valentine's Day or special occasions. They held various activities, Fish N Chip days, a Willy Wonky themed afternoon, Ice Cream Van and Brazilian Dances on Site (pre-Covid). The whole Church View Team from Managers to Catering staff are a credit and we would highly recommend Church View Nursing Home. Thank you once again.

Mum was transferred from hospital to Church View for palliative care. Due to the pandemic, we had had to select a home from websites alone, both myself and my siblings selected Church View as our number one choice. Any reservations I had were dismissed in the phone call prior to her arrival, when I was asked what Mum liked to be called and what she would like to drink, I realised Mum would be treated as a person, not a patient. The staff took brilliant care of Mum, nothing was too much trouble, even though Mum was not the easiest of patients. In between lockdowns, I was able to visit Mum for a visit in the specially prepared lounge and could see for myself how well she was looked after. I was always informed immediately when Mum took a turn for the worse and the home called the relevant medical people to ease Mum’s suffering. At a time when we could not be there for her, we had the reassurance that she was getting excellent care.

Dad was admitted to Church View after an admission to hospital (mum felt no longer able to provide the care that dad needed). After my aunt was omitted several months ago. I have nothing but extreme gratitude for the way the manager and her team cared for my aunt's wellbeing. The overall level of service, communication and in general the whole aspect of my Aunt's care was without highly managed. Unfortunately, my aunt sadly passed away recently even then the level of service and communication was still and will be highly regarded. I have no hesitation in highly recommending Church view care home. I also want to pay a massive thank you for all the help of the manager of the care home. Thanks for all your committed care of my Aunt.

My mum has been a part of this amazing home for a long time, she was taken care of like she was their own. She sadly passed away on Thursday 18th March, we had the privilege to be with her till the end (after a negative COVID test and wearing PPE). This home offers amazing person cantered care to all, staff are unbelievable and a beautiful staff member who was with us during my mum's passing and just knew what to do instinctively. Putting a loved one into someone else's care is traumatic we know as my mum was previously in a home that most definitely did not meet her needs or ours. I would have no hesitation in recommending this home to anyone, your loved one will be given home from home care and compassion. Finally, I would like to thank all staff who work at Church View for their devotion to my mum I know she was loved and happy their and this gave us complete ease of mind especially during the pandemic. Love and best wishes.

I cannot fault the staff and the manager at Church View or ask for more from them regarding the love and care and compassion they all had for my uncle who sadly passed. Although I couldn’t get up to physically see him due to the pandemic, I knew nothing was too much trouble for the staff and I know he was made to feel comfortable and happy right up until his passing, for this, our family will be forever grateful. Overall I would rate this Care Home as fair/good. However, my father, who is completely bedbound, has practically had no support for his mental well-being since he became a resident. Care staff spend very little time with residents who are confined to their rooms all the time. The carers are friendly and look after my father when they need to, and help with his physical disabilities. Also, the management has been very supportive over the Covid crisis. However, I would find it difficult to recommend this Care home for people who have mental health issues, related to depression - the support simply isn't there.

Reply from Alison Foreman, Head of Sales and Marketing at Church View Nursing & Residential Home

Thank you for your review. Firstly, the home manager wants to reassure you that her care team visit those being nursed in their rooms at least every hour when drinks are offered and chatter happens. My father has been welcomed by the fantastic, supportive and knowledgeable care home and team.
My dad has dementia, we researched a lot of care homes in Liverpool that would be best for him and his health care needs.
Church View ticked all the boxes for everything we needed and once Dad settled in, we knew we made the right choice.
Even with the current Covid conditions, the care home has been amazing with constant standards with communication, updates and we have been able to reach out to staff with questions and queries.

I would highly recommend this wonderful, caring place for anyone's loved one.

Mum has been at Church View for more than a year now. Her health has been stable most of that time and more stable than before she moved there. Staff are always friendly, caring and very attentive to her health needs and wellbeing. The staff have been really great throughout the pandemic, supporting residents, family and each other the whole time. We know they go above and beyond to keep Mum happy and settled. Couldn't single any one out, they're all great. Mum is happy and cared for. Very happy all round and fully recommend this home.

I have been extremely happy with the level of care and support my father has received since moving to Churchview.
The staff are polite and professional and seem to have very good working relationships with the residents. I thought the response to the pandemic was excellent and the new safe and secure visitor area is a fantastic idea.

Communication could be improved. It is very difficult to get through on the phone at times. Otherwise, very pleased.
