My partner very quickly settled in and has made good progress with the support from all members of staff. She has made friends with both staff and residents. This has helped with her low mood and given her more motivation. She also enjoys and participates in most activities on offer.

Since my mum became a resident of this care home I have to say she is happy and content to be among the other residents and excellent staff at the care home. The last I visited here my mum was beaming with joy as there was a singer performing songs most she recalled from her youth. She was up dancing and singing among the staff also. The care my mum gets is 10/10. The staff are 10/10. In fact, each time I go I bring in biscuits for the staff simply because they are lovely people and a credit to your care home. Can't praise them enough 10/10 thank you.

Staff are exceptionally caring, patient and helpful. Safeguarding procedures are a high priority, and we are very happy with the security of our mother. Rooms are decent quality, and it is good that you can personalise them to your own needs. New activities team have arranged for a regular programme of events that have made a huge difference to the well-being of our mother. She loves the singing and dancing activities and is stimulated and happy. Food is good quality, and the building is always clean and hygienic - we always see the rooms being constantly cleaned. We are delighted with Rowan Garth!

Mum was admitted into care straight from leaving hospital, due to her Alzheimers she was not safe to live alone. Mum left hospital quite weak with no appetite, very thin and with poor mobility etc. The difference in her today is quite remarkable, I put this down to the dedication and care the staff at Beech House give to mum, she has gained weight and also gained some mobility.
Mum is also much brighter in herself, her mood is upbeat, she has made friends, takes part in the activities and she is always clean and tidy.
The staff have addressed any concerns we have over Mum's health and a Dr notified and brought in to the home to assess Mum.

Her room is always clean and tidy and the care home smells fresh. It's a lovely bright care home set on beautiful grounds, which are well maintained. I could not ask for better care than what Mum is already receiving. Mum is happy and content.

I am aware over the past 12 months Rowan Garth has experienced bad press and as a result, has had the CQC in to inspect. My father became a resident early 2021 and although at first, we experienced a couple of hick ups .. my dad is well cared for and most of all happy which is what we want for our precious relatives. Today I was allowed to participate in a lovely activity with my father who loved it that much he didn't want to come to his room to see me. I don't think we realise just what pressures nursing homes endure and I am confident Rowan Garth gives my father all they can.

Thank you.

Where do I begin? I know, do not put your vulnerable family member here. The neglect is astounding. Left sitting in urine-ridden clothes. Clothes missing. Basic daily needs not met such as shaving, teeth brushed or hair combed.

My mum has sadly passed now, but my mum's records were never kept up to date. We could not access a dentist, podiatrist and physio stopped after 6 weeks and the GP would only visit during a scheduled one day per week which meant my mum had to wait for diagnosis, meds, and pain relief. During Covid she could not get batteries for the TV remote control and the TV in the main lounge was broken. My mum's clothes were constantly lost (which we did get some compensation for) however her clothes were just piled into the bottom of her wardrobe - not on hangers. Shoes were also lost. At Christmas, the tree was left up and decorated until the end of Feb 2021 - not good for patients with confusion and/or dementia. I really hope that these issues have been addressed for the benefit of others. There were some good staff and the food was excellent but there was no bar or minibus as advertised (2019-2021).

My dad has been in Rowan Garth Care Village for respite. I am confident in the level of care he is receiving. The home is spotless and spacious and beds are changed regularly. Personal hygiene is well catered for. The staff are absolutely lovely and there is plenty of staff around supporting residents. They make themselves available and take an interest in the client's interests. Nothing has been too much trouble. Communication has been consistent and supportive. My dad likes to eat in his room which has been no problem. However, I was in the communal area one day at dinner time and the care given to residents who needed assistance was heart-warming. I have complete faith in the care and support at Rowan Garth Care Village.

I would like to thank the staff in Moss House for looking after my mum through Covid last year. The staff are very passionate and loyal to the residents and although the home has bad reviews that is not the fault of the staff who try their very best. Dementia is a cruel illness and these people have to put up with a lot of the residents. My mum has now moved closer to where we live for more visiting and to be closer to her husband in sheltered accommodation.

Please give the staff the credit they deserve.

My auntie was in Trinity House for a short period after a hospital discharge. The staff here were amazing. We were very reluctant to place her in a care home mostly because of the current climate, but after a few days in Rowan Garth, all of our worries went away. We managed to do window visits and they have a designated room with a screen which we thought is a brilliant idea for safe visiting.

My grandad has been a resident at Moss House, Rowan Garth for nearly two years now. It’s daunting having to place a loved one somewhere that’s not home, but the care that my grandad has received here has been amazing, I can’t fault it. The staff are so caring and have been amazing throughout the pandemic especially when times were overwhelming even for themselves. They have always accommodated our requests to speak with my grandad or FaceTime etc, nothing has been too much trouble for them and they have at times gone above and beyond for us as a family especially when times have been tough. The fact that we sleep at night knowing how settled my grandad gives us so much peace of mind. Thanks to the staff at Moss House for everything that you do.

I would like to recommend Moss House in Rowan Garth Care Village, my Dad went into the care home in 2019 due to dementia. Dad has settled in well and the staff go above and beyond to assist and support him. Dad has problems also with COPD and suffered from pneumonia but since he has been at Moss House he has only had 2 issues in 18 months. Dad receives his medication regularly. His room has all the things around him that he loves and a tv. Dad always looks immaculate as he has help with shaving and a bath. Throughout the covid issue, they have a pod and keep me updated on Dad on a regular basis, thank you for all your hard work, commitment and caring it is really appreciated.

Dad has Alzheimer's, limited mobility, etc. and attended Rowan Garth, Moss House for one week in June 2019. Family members have managed in the past but he needs more specialist care now and we are so glad Rowan Garth was able to look after him so well.
The staff couldn't do enough for him. He was extremely well cared for and it felt like home from home in his own little room with TV and personal belongings. The staff couldn't do enough to help my dad and make his respite stay happy and a safe place to be in. All his care needs were met and staff listened to any information I had to give to help personalise Dad's stay.
My mum was also reassured and enjoyed the break from being Dad's main carer, it was a very well needed break for her.

Thank you so much.

The staff on Oak House were fantastic and very supportive of my father in law's condition and were very supportive on his death, but we have not heard one word from the management side of the home (HC1) at the time, we would have thought at least a letter of condolence but it now seems that they are not concerned even though he lived in there for 3 years.

I’m Patrick, the Home Manager at Rowan Garth and a Registered Nurse with a career in healthcare spanning from the age of 18. I began as a Healthcare Assistant at Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital before completing my nurse training at Liverpool John Moores University.

After qualifying, I gained experience across post-operative care, palliative care, Accident & Emergency, and elderly care. My passion for supporting older people led me into the private care sector in the North West, where I progressed from Clinical Lead Nurse to Registered Home Manager.

Over the past five years, I’ve had the privilege of leading a large, complex nursing home delivering dementia nursing, general nursing, an NHS step-down unit, and dementia residential care. During this time, the service achieved a “Good” rating in all key areas with the CQC and “Excellent” with the local authority.

I’m now proud to be supporting Rowan Garth, with a clear focus on delivering high-quality, person-centred care and achieving the same strong outcomes.

I look forward to welcoming you to Rowan Garth.
