Can't believe how clean the place is! Wonderful, friendly and helpful staff. Nothing too much trouble. My friend was completely at ease the whole time she was there. Lovely surroundings. Lovely rooms including bedrooms.

Mum had a massive stroke and was critically ill. She recovered well enough to attend Broadoak Manor Care Home pre-discharge. She was upset at first and it took her a while to settle in but after a few days, she made friends with the staff and residents who were absolutely amazing. There were helpful,
friendly and very caring and Mum called them her friends. When Mum was finally discharged there were tears all-round, Mum and ourselves cannot thank the manager, nurse, carers, cleaners and occupational therapists enough. They helped immensely with her recovery. Thank you so much.

The staff have a lovely and caring manner. All residents have a smile on their faces and often have impromptu sing-alongs. Management keep you informed and as per care staff. Nothing is of trouble to them. Mum has been safe and well looked after during respite care. Thank you to all staff at Ravenhead

My mother-in-law has only moved into Broadoak Manor recently after being in hospital for six weeks. We have been shown the utmost respect and courtesy by all the staff. My mother-in-law has settled in well and the family have been kept up to date with her care. It has been a very easy transition.

The staff on Havanagh unit are excellent - very caring and supportive - always ready to listen and explain. Their compassion and patience shines through in what are obviously difficult circumstances with the residents they are working with. I would highly recommend the home and unit to anyone.

My mum came into Broadoak Manor Care Home from hospital on end-of-life care but the staff have brought my mum's health on so much that she is like the mum I knew before she went into hospital. I am so made up and my mum seems so settled here, that is such a relief for me and my family.

My Mother has agitated Alzheimer's. I have found that the staff do not interact much if at all with the residents. Spending a lot of time either on their mobile phones or outside. Some of the staff are friendly, and the lounge area is clean but on numerous occasions, I have found Mum's room to be unclean.

My Mother (a hundred and one years old but mentally completely engaged and knowledgeable) was transferred ten days ago from the rehabilitation unit to Broadoak Manor as she needed physical nursing and support.
I and the family can’t speak highly enough of the care she has received. They have cared
marvelously for her physical nursing needs whilst respecting her mental capacity and her emotional strength.
It’s a fairly unusual combination of age, huge physical challenges, mental capacity and lucidity and emotional awareness.
Broadoak Manor staff have been remarkable in their ability to support her physically, mentally and emotionally and us too as a family!

I cannot speak highly enough of the care afforded to my late father during his 3 years as a resident of both Ravenhead House and Havanagh House. I was so glad to have settled my father in residential care initially, then to find that when he needed nursing care it was available on-site. All staff members
treated him and our family with respect. The place is spotlessly clean and is a pleasant, peaceful environment. My Dad's every need was catered for, the staff got to know and like him and even took him on a trip to Blackpool illuminations in November 2022.
Thank you to the wonderful people who worked tirelessly through the pandemic to maintain that outstanding care. You truly are remarkable!

The staff are amazing, very professional and so caring. We were always welcomed. Nothing was too much trouble. I would like to mention a staff member who stayed with my sister-in-law when she took her last breath, as we didn't arrive in time. A special mention to the carer for being a wonderful support
during this stressful time. Thank you to all the staff and keep up the good work.

My mum stayed at Broadoak for respite, what a lovely place and lovely carers. Can't thank them enough for how they looked after, her while I had a break. So friendly and thoughtful so would recommend anyone taking their loved ones there, thank you.

I am overwhelmed regarding the care and attention the staff display towards my dad and other residents.
All the staff are super special, so king.
As an ex-NHS nurse, I am so impressed with the love and attention given to my dad. He is very precious to me! If he is happy, I am happy.

I'd like to thank all the staff at Broadoak Manor. I wish to say they are a lovely bunch, from the caring nurses, the helpful managers who haven't been able to do enough for us when we have needed information and help. Through to the carers the activity co-ordinators, the kitchen staff maintenance and
cleaners who do a thorough job and also the admins. I have to say having had contact with them all over the years how much they have impressed me with their professionalism and attitude, nothing has been too much trouble. Everyone has treated myself, my husband and all my family with the utmost respect. My late mother was treated amazingly with love and dignity. Nothing was ever too much trouble. I appreciate every single one of these hard working beautiful people. I would recommend this home to anyone looking for a lovely stable environment for a loved one, you won't be disappointed.

My Mum went into Broadoak Manor Care for respite in August 2022 and has now become a permanent resident. The setting in which the care home is situated is tranquil, with well-kept gardens. The staff are caring and engaging with the residents, which makes me feel comfortable that my Mum is well cared
for and safe in the home. Mum is never distressed and seems to have settled into the new surroundings. The staff are happy to discuss Mum's progress and care, plus value my thoughts and appraisal of how mum is doing. I would recommend Broadoak Manor Care Home as a good care home for family members.

I would like it known that Broadoak Manor's management and staff go over and beyond what is expected. My mum can be a little difficult at times because of her dementia, however, she is always treated with dignity, love and care. All of which leave me feeling content.

Havannagh House was my dad's home for 6 months. He was given high standards of care up until he sadly passed away. We were always informed of updates every step of the way. As a family we were also treated with respect, able to visit our dad whenever we needed to. Nothing was ever too much trouble.
As a family, a thank you will never be enough. In my dad's last days, we were able to sit out in the garden as a family, but we were still close to him. Thank you for all the care you gave to my dad and his family, we will never forget you.

Havannagh House was my mums home for four years until she sadly passed away peacefully aged 90. This felt like her home where she was given the highest levels of care and shown love and respect. She was so happy there due to the staff who are chosen carefully. Staff are knowledgeable of Alzheimer's/dementia
too, giving them a great understanding of how to treat residents. This is a happy place with a real positive vibe. Thank you Havannagh House so glad we found you.

My mum's home of almost 4 years was Havanagh House. She was placed there because she was 'difficult'. She spent her last years wrapped in nothing but love and kindness, receiving all the care we couldn't provide. Even during lockdown, the staff made every attempt to keep us 'connected' and there have
always been regular updates on her care. The staff were her family and she felt safe and loved.

What does kindness mean to you?


“Getting to know our Residents, their history, likes and dislikes. I really enjoy sitting and having a chat, getting to know peoples’ life stories and history, and sharing mine too.”


As a Registered Adult Nurse, Patrick has gained many years of experience in providing care and support for older people to enrich their lives. He is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest possible standards of care and quality of life for Residents.


Patrick shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. He uses his experience to motivate his team to deliver care and support in a way that Residents gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


When asked what he enjoys most about his role, Patrick remarked:


“Meeting new people, in my job I speak to a lot of Residents, families, friends, Colleagues and professionals from the community.”


Outside of work, Patrick enjoys travelling and cruises, with his favourite place to visit being the USA. He also says his biggest achievement was when he finished university and registered as a nurse, as he was able to save up and buy a house with a garden, so he could get a pet dog.
