The home is friendly and welcoming to visitors and appears to be similar to residents. Of course we are not always here to see. Food seems to be good and facilities good. I'm sure that residents would benefit from more activities and arranged outdoor time, however I know that resources are limited.
I do thank that the home could be cleaned/mopped more often. I think residents could shower more. All things considered I would recommend Victoria House.

On every visit (twice weekly) I have found the client, happy, clean, nicely dressed, comfortable and is given everything she requires and requests. The staff are very pleasant and go beyond helpful. The care home is immaculate which is a credit to the girls also the men who work here are very helpful
and polite. I wouldn't hessitate to reccomend.

My sister has dementia and has lived in this care home for several years. I visit her as does my fellow OPG deputy Deborah, who is an old friend of Ann Marie. The staff are always welcoming and all areas are clean, bright and fresh. Staff are patient and always there when needed. Food is good and residents
seem to acknowledge this. I personally am so pleased that my sister found a place here. There's good care and laughter shared between residents and staff.

In the short time my mother has been here she has settled reasonable well. Her own comment is that 'you have to accept' - she has commented on a few occasions that the treatment at night time is not satisfactory at times. The staff that we have met during the day are very helpful and try to make my
mother's comfort as good as it can be.

Staff always go above and beyond to provide the best possible care for our loved ones. The environment is warm and welcoming it has quickly become not only a safe space for Ann but also for us as a family. Nothing is ever to much trouble and the support and the care we are given as a family is second
to non. We wouldn't have coped the past 12 months without this amazing team around us. We feel reasured and content knowing Ann is safe and looked after but also treated as we would treat her ourselves.

We were so lucky to have found Victoria Care Home in Rainford for the last 4 1/2 months of mums life we were able to relax in the knowledge that she was safe and well looked after. The staff from the managers, nursing staff, maintenance staff, cleaners, caterers and carers were all very helpful, approachable
and kind. They care about the family too. There are 2 activity coordinators who provide weekly bingo sessions, regular singers and craft sessions. They have a noticeboard with weekly newsletters and puzzles. Thank you Victoria Care home.

At a time when I needed respite care, the staff at the Victoria Care Home were particularly caring in their welcome. From the outset, I was afforded dignity and care by all that I was assisted by. I cannot fault the management or staff at any level. I was not well enough to take part in any activities,
although I was aware they were available.
Victoria Care Home was warm, clean and comfortable.

Mum was admitted to VHC in August 2024. It was a very difficult decision for the family to make but her declining health and several nasty falls made it impossible to look after her at home.
VCH have looked after Mum so well - they have tried so hard to encourage her to eat/drink. The staff have treated
her with respect and dignity even at her most challenging times.

I would like to say how lovely the staff in Victoria Care Home have been. My dad moved to this care home from a home he didn't like and the staff here have made him feel so welcome, he loves all the staff and the care the staff give him is amazing, and too puts up with all his hard work. I would like

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.550)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.550) out of 10 for Victoria Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 23 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 23 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.550 for Victoria Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (166 Excellents x 5) + (86 Goods x 4) + (16 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 269 Ratings = 4.55
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Victoria Care Home is based on 23 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 53 registered maximum number of service users is 10.6, which has been reached with 23 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
