Built in 1857, Manor House is a listed building that has recently (Feb 23) been modernised and refurbished to a high standard across a number of units. The home has retained many of its original features, including an oak-panelled entrance hall and decorative ceilings. Many of the large bedrooms have views over the extensive grounds and have ensuite facilities.

Staff at The Manor House deliver high-quality care in a respectful and professional manner. The home provides a full range of care for older people including nursing, residential and dementia care for short or long term needs.

Residents can enjoy a seasonal daily menu which has been made using fresh ingredients. Annual special occasions are celebrated with themed meals throughout the year and residents are served a slice of homemade birthday cake on their special day.

Residents are encouraged to carry on with their favourite pastimes and hobbies and organised activities include keep fit, art, knitting and sewing.

My mum has been well cared for at The Manor. I have had my first vaccine jab. Due to having our second vaccine next month. I think we should be allowed to see Mum. Also, just an idea, could it be possible for all carer to be tested 1/2 hour before work. They do the same around here.

The staff are fantastic, always reassuring and informative about my mother. Mum always looks clean, presentable and always look safe, secure and above all, happy. We, as a family, all felt sad and apprehensive about placing Mum in a care home, but 'Manor House' and the staff have been the best thing

A most impressive building of substantial proportions, being a former manor house (1850?). Rooms comfortable - many with garden views. A most impressive dining room. The food is plain but well presented and good.

Just to say how absolutely fantastic the staff of The Manor House continue to be over this really difficult time of the pandemic. My Mother has been in The Manor House for the last 18 months and is so happy. The staff seem to take so much trouble to look after the residents and their efforts to keep
everyone active and entertained is simply outstanding. The Manor House's Facebook page is a testament to this. I am so grateful that The Manor was able to take my Mother into their care (18 months ago). I simply cannot imagine a better place for her to be looked after - she seems to be so content and happy amongst her new friends and enjoying herself.

The care for my dad during his time at The Manor House was simply outstanding. Every member of staff was always welcoming and professional. In the last few weeks of my dad's life, he was looked after throughout with great care, compassion and respect. They ensured he was comfortable and peaceful and
extremely supportive of the family when he passed. Manor House gave my dad the best care and possibly the best quality of life in his final days. So glad I found Manor House.

December in The Manor was excellent. It was a pleasure to visit. The residents enjoyed lots of activities and visits from groups who came to entertain, the atmosphere was lovely. The staff clearly worked to ensure not only the residents but all the family and friends were included in the festivities.
I would particularly like to mention a particular carer, she was remarkable, always busy but friendly.

The care for my wife during her stay was simply outstanding. All the nurses and care workers demonstrated a real determination to ensure my wife was comfortable as possible at all times and ensure she was well-nourished throughout her stay. They kept very careful documentation of all her care to ensure
nothing was overlooked and easy handovers from one shift to the next. The overall care gave me great confidence that I could leave my wife in safe hands, occasionally.

Mum was admitted last month and through the dedicated staff and excellent monitoring has improved so much in such a small period of time. I cannot thank everybody enough and would recommend the Manor House to everybody.

My mother spent the last few months of her life at The Manor House, having been diagnosed with cancer.


The facilities themselves are excellent and at the start of her stay, she enjoyed the splendour of the older part of the building and the company of the ever-cheerful staff.


She was looked

after throughout with care, compassion and respect that enabled her to retain her dignity, particularly as her mobility and stamina lessened. In the latter stages of her stay, the staff ensured that she was peaceful and comfortable. They were also extremely supportive of the family at the inevitable difficult times and of course when she passed away.


I am confident that entrusting my mother’s care to The Manor House ensured that she enjoyed the highest standards of care and best possible quality of life in her final days.

The assistant manager and recreational/activities manager are wonderful! They go out of their way to make my mother very welcome and to be very helpful to her and to me when I visit from the US, or call.

Our friend has been extremely comfortable and has appreciated the care of all the staff and the quality of the food. Our only concern has been the access for us at the weekends which is not easy and also telephoning in at weekends is very difficult.
Personally, we cannot speak too highly of the support
we have received from all the staff.

My mother was very poorly when she arrived at Manor House.
The transformation in the 6 months she has been here has been amazing.
I can't speak highly enough of all the staff here for what they have done for Mum.
She has been very well cared for and looked after.
The staff haven't just looked after
Mum but they have looked after the family too through some very difficult months, always being on hand to help and answer any queries.

Variable standards of care, some good, but at times dreadful and certain carers need to consider if they are in the right profession. My mother struggled with mobility when she first came to this home and when she needed to go to the bathroom, she was told to wee in her pants. This led to her reducing
her fluid intake.
Lounge and dining rooms furnished to a high standard, food is good. The first-floor landing smells of urine. Towels were threadbare and frayed, bedrooms adequately equipped. Security Mon-Friday appalling. The front door is left open, I walked through the building unchallenged. At weekends visitors use a locked rear entrance. I waited 15-20 mins for someone to open the door.
My Mother called for help for 30 mins in the lounge, kitchen staff came to investigate then went to find a carer to assist.
Overall, standards are poor and there is a glaring need for improved staff training and better leadership.

I joined The Manor House in May 2021 after taking a break from work to raise my family. Prior to working here, I have worked in events and ran my own business.


This is my first role in the care sector and certainly my most rewarding one! I love forming relationships with our residents. It's wonderful encouraging them to try new things, and working within the community.


I live locally with my partner, son, and cat. I enjoy reading, nature and spending time with my family.
