My mother was very poorly when she arrived at Manor House.
The transformation in the 6 months she has been here has been amazing.
I can't speak highly enough of all the staff here for what they have done for Mum.
She has been very well cared for and looked after.

The staff haven't just looked after Mum but they have looked after the family too through some very difficult months, always being on hand to help and answer any queries.

Overall Experience
Variable standards of care, some good, but at times dreadful and certain carers need to consider if they are in the right profession. My mother struggled with mobility when she first came to this home and when she needed to go to the bathroom, she was told to wee in her pants. This led to her reducing her fluid intake.
Lounge and dining rooms furnished to a high standard, food is good. The first-floor landing smells of urine. Towels were threadbare and frayed, bedrooms adequately equipped. Security Mon-Friday appalling. The front door is left open, I walked through the building unchallenged. At weekends visitors use a locked rear entrance. I waited 15-20 mins for someone to open the door.
My Mother called for help for 30 mins in the lounge, kitchen staff came to investigate then went to find a carer to assist.

Overall, standards are poor and there is a glaring need for improved staff training and better leadership.

My nan has been in many homes over the years but The Manor House is the best home she has ever been in. The staff are caring, professional and kind and compassionate. The food is amazing and the atmosphere is friendly and happy.

My nan is the happiest she has ever been in a care home. Also, the staff are always making her laugh.

There has been a lot of changes over the past 12 months but during that time the level of care my Mum has received has never wavered.
The care staff (and housekeeping and catering) tend to her needs in a caring, friendly and cheerful manner.

There are times when she can be difficult, but these are always handled with patience and understand. Well done everyone.

The home has a new manager and she has done wonders for my friend and other residents.
The activities are better and my friend is going out on trips.

The staff are happier and the manager has always got time to say hello.

Very caring and hard working staff. Lovely atmosphere created by the carers in the Leyland Suite. My mother was always well cared for and assisted with feeding. She lived here for 3 years and was cheerful and happy. She became more unwell a few weeks ago and the staff intensified their care for her and in the last few days showed the level of care, concern and genuine affection for mum that you could only expect from close family. Very well done - you've made a difficult time so much more bearable.

My Mum has moved here 3 weeks ago from a previous home. In that short time, she is so much better. She has put weight on, looks well cared for and most importantly is happier. This is more like a 5* hotel than a nursing home. The en-suite rooms, the dining room and lounge, the magnificent grounds are all complemented by a high level of care. My picky Mum describes the food as delicious. My sister and I have decided when our turn comes we're having adjoining rooms here!

The client/patient (i.e my wife) felt comfortable, safe and generally well cared for and all the staff including management, nursing team, catering staff were happy to respond/react in a caring fashion. There was certainly a positive element of individual/personal approach to patients.

The Manor is simply wonderful. The building is gorgeous and is immaculately kept. The bedrooms are lovely and there is everything anyone could need there. The staff are brilliant! All of them are kind, helpful and courteous and make the place a pleasure to visit. They are always keen to help and nothing ever appeared to be too much trouble - they even put up with our family's warped sense of humour. Thank you so much for looking after my father-in-law - I'm sure he'll miss you all as will we. 10/10! :)

My mum was transferred to The Manor House for palliative care. We looked at a number of homes and from the initial visit to the assessment, transfer day and indeed the night mum died the staff were absolutely wonderful. They were attentive, kind and caring with mum and with us, helping us to cope through what was and is the most difficult of times.
The facilities and grounds are excellent but it is the entire team from the manager to the nurses and carers (too many to mention) to the lady who is front of house who makes the home such a quality provider of care.

It is the five star standard of nursing home provision and it is what other homes should, aspire to be like. We cannot thank them enough and would recommend them highly

Well so I don't no where to start about this lovely place. It's like a 5 star hotel. The staff, the food, the service, the unfailing kindness of everyone who has looked after me since I've been here. It's like a home from home. It's spotlessly clean. My vegetarian diet has been delicious from day one, all meals whether in my room or the lounge have been piping hot and beautifully served (snacks are plentiful too!) I didn't sleep well the 1st couple of nights so tea arrived with a smiling carer throughout the night.

I joined The Manor House in May 2021 after taking a break from work to raise my family. Prior to working here, I have worked in events and ran my own business.

This is my first role in the care sector and certainly my most rewarding one! I love forming relationships with our residents. It's wonderful encouraging them to try new things, and working within the community.

I live locally with my partner, son, and cat. I enjoy reading, nature and spending time with my family.
