The only drawback is the number of carers who do not efficiently speak or understand English. But they have all worked heroically during the pandemic.
The VE day party was enjoyed by Grandma and a lovely thing to do.
"Excellent" staff and home.
The love, care and respect given to my mother-in-law, especially during her last days after arriving back from the hospital, (although most of the time she was unresponsive) was second to none and for which we will be forever grateful. In my own view, although the place was clean and well kept, it is the care staff that make Hollymere the loving, caring and respectful place it is. My mother-in-law, who always had high standards, was happy in Hollymere. She had Alzheimer's.
I would happily recommend Hollymere care home to anyone looking for that special place for their loved ones!
My comments refer mainly to the nurse who is caring for my father. It is a genuine comfort to my mother and myself that such a lovely, caring and professional person is looking after my father. We know that when we are not there with him that his medical needs are being met and also that he has confidence in his nurse.
I have visited Hollymere House on several occasions. I found that the said resident was well cared for. I must commend his care nurse for her assiduous attention, her non-verbal communication was exemplary as were her caring skills. I should also state that there was no unpleasant odour in this home as I have found in other homes during my medical career.
All the staff are tuned into the individual residents and my mum has not been looked after so well as she has in her 6-month stay at Hollymere for years, Well done and a big thank you to the manager and all the staff.
Took a while for mother to settle in but then joined in with the activities provided. The staff were very supportive and did their best to care for the residents. I have no complaints whatsoever and would not hesitate to recommend Hollymere to anyone.
I felt it was very expensive, especially when being charged the full amount when mum spent several weeks in hospital. The staff were always helpful and friendly, and mum was always kept clean and comfortable. Mum told us that she enjoyed the food and she liked all the staff.
Dad was in Hollymere for a short time for end of life care.
The staff were great, we cannot thank them enough for their care and compassion.
Management should be proud of his team.
My Mum moved to Hollymere from another nursing home after suffering from a brain aneurysm at 64 years old. The difference in her attitude to life, communication skills and appetite is amazing. She is receiving the right care due to the fantastic team listening to us and wanting the best for her. She is happy and the progress made within 4 weeks brings hope to us all for the future. Hollymere has a warm and friendly environment with lots of activities on offer.
Staff are always pleasant and accommodating. My mother is well cared for with love and respect. Her room is always clean and tidy and the food looks very good. I have no complaints care and staff very good.
I can't speak highly enough of all staff. The care they provide and of the highest I have seen. I feel my mother is safe and secure in their hands and all staff are welcoming. Five stars.
It is clean and clearly well-managed, has a friendly staff and a pleasant, welcoming atmosphere. My friend expressed himself as more than content to be there and I could see why especially when seeing the quality of the food.
There are numerous homely things in the corridors too and a lack of meaningless promotional slogans and messages. Full marks.
We were a family in crisis, with a very poorly 91-year-old mother and needed immediate help.
The manager and his team responded immediately and Mum was in safe and secure hands within 24 hours. Since then a week has passed and she is responding well to the excellent care.
If you are looking for a caring residential home for a relative then I would highly recommend Hollymere.
My 99-year-old mother has now been in Hollymere for over 15 months. My wife or myself visit two or three times per week. As a relative, it is not easy to watch a loved one as they reach the end of their life, but at Hollymere I am confident that my mother is being cared for by dedicated professionals.
From the moment she entered Hollymere House she was looked after extremely well and the staff and management couldn't do enough. If I have to go into a care home I would be very happy to live at Hollymere House.
We live a distance away and it was a great comfort to know that she was in safe and caring hands until she died peacefully 15 months later.
