What stands out most about Daneside Court is the genuine kindness of the team. They are all so friendly and helpful. They don't just provide care, they go that extra mile with all the activities which keep the residents engaged. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels homely and welcoming.
The quality of the food. Is amazing and actually looks and smells like it's home cooked. Our family have such peace of mind knowing our relative is looked after and cared for so well. Thank you.

After suffering a stroke recently, the home has rallied around with her rehabilitation and changes to diet, etc. But in this time, they have maintained the very good standard she has come to enjoy and helped her recovery.

From the first day I met with the duty manager Laura, I knew this was going to be to be the best place for my father. Laura has a lovely warm and friendly approach that filled me with confidence that Daneside was the right place.

Following my father moving into the home I have had every confidence

in the staff meeting his needs. My father is very sociable, which he loves to chat and I can honestly say the staff meet this need daily and go above and beyond taking the time to listen and chat with him. The residents are treated with respect.

It was my father's 88th birthday last week, his room was decorated and a delicious birthday cake was made. His family were able to celebrate his birthday and make memories.

To all the staff, from the cleaners, maintenance, laundry, nurses, wellbeing coordinator for everything they do for my father, me and my brother. I do want to mention a few Nikki, Jackie, Stacey, Darcy, Brian and Sharon to say a massive thank you from Kerris and David.

My mum is on end of life care but you still made sure she listened to the beautiful Christmas Carols in the dining room, I thank you for that. She was with you before she got admitted to hospital but we knew she would want to be back with you. You all do an amazing job and tonight was a wonderful memory.

I find the staff very good and caring to all the residents that are housed at the home. The residents are engaged to participate in the activities which they seem to enjoy. They seem stimulated because the activity provider is a very caring individual who always has an interest in making the residents
more varied and tailors the needs of the individual but they all seem happy.

I find all aspects of Daneside Court to be excellent, from accommodation to the food provided. My only concern is security when I awoke one night to find another resident standing next to me.

I am very pleased with the care and support my auntie receives at the care home. All the staff and management are very pleasant and helpful.
The only negative from my point of view is that communication could be better.

Current Review Score: 9.3 (9.264)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.3 (9.264) out of 10 for Daneside Court Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.4 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.861 for Daneside Court Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (93 Excellents x 5) + (15 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 108 Ratings = 4.861
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.403 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Daneside Court Care Home is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 = 3.7
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 64 registered maximum number of service users is 12.8. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 12.8 = 0.703
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
